This game seemed like it was heading for another frustrating defeat for Oxford United. MK Dons leads early, but a 97th minute equaliser from Elliott Lee recued a deserved point. It finished MK Dons 1-1 Oxford United. Check out Ian's fantastic reaction to the goal which is worth watching the video alone, but Ian & Tom pick the bones out of this largely entertaining game which Oxford would have been unlucky to lose. MK Dons certainly played their part in an entertaining game and OUFC can move on to Peterborough on Tuesday night. Dan Agyei did brilliantly when he came on, and has not deserved to be frozen out by Robbo. Also, Lee was excellent and deserved the goal as he was Oxford's MOTM. Postponed from Saturday and then pushed back from 3pm to 4pm on Sunday it seemed inevitable that this would be called off. Too make matters worse a fire at HT nearly stopped the game too. BUT.... despite these set backs off the pitch Oxford had to recover from a setback on the pitch as they came back from a goal down to find a way to win against Wigan. The score finished Oxford United 2-1 Wigan Athletic. A fine comeback in the final 30 minutes of this game saw Oxford avoid a banana skin and move to 1 point outside the playoffs. Robinson made plenty of changes and it in the end it paid off. Sam Winnall scored a first league goal for OUFC and we needed the Captain to step up as Elliott Moore provided the winner. Not a classic but good grit in the end to turn defeat into victory against a resolute Wigan side who played better than their league position shows. It had to happen at some point, but Oxford United fantastic winning run has come to an end. Yes, it is run over as Doncaster have beaten Oxford in a 5 goal thriller. It finished Doncaster Rovers 3-2 Oxford United. Like so many games we had at the start of the season, Oxford were largely the better side in this game, but sloppy mistakes cost Utd as Donny punished us for some bad errors. Sam Long got Oxford's first goal and carried on his great season getting back to 1-1 at HT, but a made first 5 minutes to the 2nd half saw Doncaster take a 3-1 lead thanks to some woefully weak defending. Shodipo got Oxford back in it at 3-2 and as much as they huffed and puffed they could find another leveller as Doncaster showed Oxford how to do it with a clinical display in attack and defence. Not a disaster but definite question marks raised about OUFC's promotion credentials as again we come up 2nd best in a game against the league’s best. So far on this winning run Oxford have been excellent, but this game against Fleetwood would be the ultimate test so far. You all know the score by now Oxford united have never beaten the Fleet in the previous 12 attempts, so if felt like a curse!! BUT!!!! It was lucky number 13 for the yellows as the curse was broken and United made history. It finished Oxford United 1-0 Fleetwood town. Which means OXFORD HAVE BEATEN FLEETWOOD FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!! Mr Oxford United Josh Ruffles got the only goal of the game which swung Oxford's way in the 6th minute with Charlie Mulgrew's red card. Oxford should have won by more, but credit to Fleetwood for sticking in the game and made it a nervy finish. That is now 7 wins in a row in the league and puts Oxford on the edge of playoffs. Seems a long time ago now that Swindon game doesn't it???? What a great start to the New Year. Oxford put basement boys Burton Albion to the sword this afternoon and smashed in 5 goals. It finished Burton Albion 1-5 Oxford United. An ecstatic Ian & Thomas from VBO give their review of this fantastic result and performance. Taylor set Utd on their way early, 2 for Shodipo and 2 for Ruffles gave Oxford their best win of the season. It’s also meant Karl Robinson's side move to mid table after their 4th win in a row. 4 wins in a row for Oxford United and the poor form from the early part of the season looks a lifetime ago. Hope you had a good Christmas VBO fans, Boxing Days is always a special day on the football calendar, andthis proved to be a good one for Oxford Utd as they struck early and battled hard to make it 2 wins in a row for the first time this season. The game finsihed Oxford United 2-0 AFC Wimbledon. Oxford went 2 nil up early with goals from Jordan Obita and Matty Taylor, both were well worked and good finishes, but after that AFC Wimbledon piled on the pressure and pushed Oxford really hard for a way back into the game. Oxford needed good defernding and some luck to see out the win, but any Oxford fans should be proud of the way they battled. Jack Stevens was exceptional and carry's on his fine form. 1 goal conceded now in 5 games, and OUFC are looking up instead of down now.
