It had to happen at some point, but Oxford United fantastic winning run has come to an end. Yes, it is run over as Doncaster have beaten Oxford in a 5 goal thriller. It finished Doncaster Rovers 3-2 Oxford United. Like so many games we had at the start of the season, Oxford were largely the better side in this game, but sloppy mistakes cost Utd as Donny punished us for some bad errors. Sam Long got Oxford's first goal and carried on his great season getting back to 1-1 at HT, but a made first 5 minutes to the 2nd half saw Doncaster take a 3-1 lead thanks to some woefully weak defending. Shodipo got Oxford back in it at 3-2 and as much as they huffed and puffed they could find another leveller as Doncaster showed Oxford how to do it with a clinical display in attack and defence. Not a disaster but definite question marks raised about OUFC's promotion credentials as again we come up 2nd best in a game against the league’s best.
