Very Biased Opinions give their reviews of Crewe Alexandra vs Oxford United. It was an afternoon where the Yellows hit Crewe for 6. Where did it come from? What the hell happened........ Where did this result come from? The craziness of League One was in full force this afternoon, a seemingly even game after 30 minutes exploded in favour of OUFC and ir rained goals for them. it finished Crewe Alexandra 0-6 Oxford United. Crewe fans can be forgiven for being a bit shell shocked after this one. Nobody saw this coming. A remarkable performance and an incredible result for Oxford Utd. It started with a Josh Ruffles header, before Henry & Moore made it 3-0 at the break. Then it was the Brandon Barker show just after the restart with a fine individual goal. Brannagan even got on the score sheet even though he did his best not to after rebounding in his missed penalty. Are rare goal for Winnal made it 6-0. Shades of Lincoln away last season, this is probably not a fair reflection of Crewe Alex who defeated Oxford quite easily earlier on in the season. Where does this leave the yellows?? who knows, but it gives us a crumb of hope but realistically they need to win nearly every game from here. Oxford Utd come into this game after a fantastic victory against Lincoln City coming from a goal down to go on win the game 2-1. Since appointing a new manager, Sunderland have been in some unbelievable form and now look in great position to get automatic promotion into the Sky Bet Championship. Going to the Stadium of Light is never an easy place to go but in a promotion battle Oxford will need to bet at their best to get anything. The Yellows are now level on points with the first club in the top 6 and only goal difference separates them. Other teams have games in hand but Oxford can only focus on themselves in this position. All is forgiven after 2 rubbish games, and the promotion push is back on Poor Form, and normally rubbish when on Sky Sports, you would forgive Oxford fans for not being too optimistic for this game against Lincoln City. BUT!!! it was a return to form and a rare win from a goal down too. It finished Oxford United 2-1 Lincoln City. So OUFC went 1-0 after 4 minutes and it all seemed doom and gloom, but a superb display saw them come back with goals from Anthony Forde and Matty Taylor to win the game. It leaves Oxford Utd on the cusp of the playoffs again and they finally get some time to rest before a big game on good Friday against Sunderland.
