FINAL DAY DRAMA! WIGAN CHAMPIONS! ROTHERHAM ARE UP! WHAT WE LEARNT FROM THE FINAL DAY IN LEAGUE ONE
#leagueone #skybetleagueone #EFL In this episode of the podcast I will be reacting, breaking down and analysing all the action from this final day in EFL League One. With so much still to be decided, including the final relegation places, the play-off positions and the title, the final day of this campaign hade so much on the line! Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth Argyle and Wycombe Wanderers were all battling it out for a play-off finish, while MK Dons, Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic all had ambitions to automatically push for a promotion into the Sky Bet Championship! At the other end of the table Morecambe, Fleetwood Town, Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon, Doncaster all attempt to avoid relegation to Sky Bet League Two! In the end Wigan Athletic were crowned champions, while Rotherham were promoted in 2nd! Although MK Dons smashed Plymouth Argyle 5-0 they will have to settle with a play-off campaign! Wycombe Wanderers defeated Burton Albion 2-1 which saw them secure 6th spot! Sheffield Wednesday overcame a nervous start by comfortably beating Portsmouth 4-1! Although Fleetwood lost 4-2 to Bolton Wanderers, other results meant they would avoid the drop and face another year in League One next season! It was another must win for OUFC as they hunt of an unlikely (but still possible) EFL League One play-off place come the end of the season and Billy Bodin provided the goods with a 86th minute winner. MK Dons came into this game with a defeat against Sheffield Wednesday and their hope for an automatic promotion place is looking more difficult by the week. Scott Twine, who has been in exceptional form this season, was kept quiet by the likes of Brown, Moore and McNally. It was definitely a game of two halves with MK Dons looking the much better side in the first 45 mins but in the second Karl Robinson's men turned on the heat and won the game brilliantly.
