GATESHEAD 2 ALFRETON TOWN 1 MATCH REACTION | NON LEAGUE SPECIAL
Gateshead 2 Alfreton Town 1 Match Reaction. Non League Special. With the international break going on it was time to go and watch another Gateshead game at the international stadium. They are currently playing in the Conference North of english football but i was very impressed with the standard at this level. Over 1100 people were at the game today and created an excellent atmosphere with plenty chanting going on throughout the game. It is very important that we get to highlight the non league side of football, especially after Covid has hit these clubs really hard so any financial backing we can give them does help. It was a great match with Alfreton certainly being the better team in the first half but Gateshead much improving in the second half. I would definitely recommend any football fan to support their local non league clubs when there is either and international break going on or their main team is away from home and you're not travelling to the game. Brighton 1 Newcastle United 1 The Review. Newcastle United made the long journey south to take on Brighton at the Amex stadium looking for their first win in the Premier League this season. Eddie Howe was alongside Amanda Staveley in the stands as Graeme Jones took charge of his final game as interim manager. Howe will certainly have been very alarmed at the first half performance as yet again Newcastle sat back and let Brighton have all the possession. Second half was a bit better and we fought back to get a draw but it's very clear the task Eddie Howe has ahead of him getting this team away from the relegation zone before he can sign any players in January. One thing is for certain, we have simply got to move away from this back five defensive football because we need wins and playing for draws is not going to be enough to keep us up this season and survive in the Premier League. Crystal Palace 1 Newcastle United 1 The Review. Newcastle United travelled to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in their first game since the sacking of Steve Bruce with Graeme Jones taking charge for the first time. It's safe to say a lot of fans were a little confused when the team sheet came out with a few changes made but not maybe the changes the fans had been hoping for. Almiron and Willock the surprise names on the bench. First half it was very poor with Newcastle only having 29% of the possession and sitting back most of the half and Crystal Palace will very very annoyed they didn't go into the break at least a couple of goals ahead. Benteke did give them the lead only to be cancelled out by a simply world class goal by Callum Wilson. All in all a point gained by the toon but we are still looking for that elusive first win of the season in the Premier League with Chelsea next up in a weeks time. It is time for you to have your say after Newcastle United came away from Vicarage Road with 1-1 draw against fellow relegation strugglers Watford. The result means Newcastle United have still failed to win in the Premier League this season despite creating a lot of good opportunities to put the game out of sight but yet again they were not taken. Steve Bruce is surely running out of time now as next up is Wolves away from home and a defeat in that match could spell the end. Although he changed to a 4 at the back which the fans have been crying out for it still didn't bring Newcastle United the 3 points they desperately needed. Manchester United 4 Newcastle United 1 The Review. Newcastle United travelled to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Premier League. Old Trafford was bouncing with the second debut of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo and the magpies were up against it before a ball was even kicked. Newcastle gave a very good account of themselves in the first half, working very hard to frustrate Manchester United and restricting them to very little chances as well as creating chances of our own but with no success. Once again individual mistakes were our downfall, this time goalkeeper Freddie Woodman at fault for two of the goals. Steve Bruce once again showing how clueless he is with pathetic substitutions and his lack of ability to change anything during the game. NEWCASTLE UNITED 2 SOUTHAMPTON 2 | NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Newcastle United 2 Southampton 2 | Not Good Enough! St James' Park was the scene for this Premier League encounter as Southampton were the visitors in what was very much a must win game for Newcastle United. The first half was simply appalling for the magpies. They were all over the place for 40 minutes and only got going during the last five minutes of the half. Poor formation and tactics again from Steve Bruce but we as Newcastle fans have now come to accept. Southampton were simply excellent and deserved to actually win the game, however it look like Newcastle had stolen it in the 90th minute only to throw it all away again giving away a penalty in injury time. Newcastle United 0 Burnley 0 (Burnley win 4-3 on pens) | Enough is enough!! Newcastle United entertained Burnley in the 2nd round of the Carabao Cup at St James' Park and were dumped out of the competition on penalties. Steve Bruce decided to stick to his five at the back formation but made many changes from the side that lost to Aston Villa. For me there were some positives for certain players which I talk about in the video but for me, this manager of ours simply has to go. he makes the usual changes with 10-15 minutes to go but simply doesn't have the ability to change things during a game.
