Brighton 1 Newcastle United 1 The Review. Newcastle United made the long journey south to take on Brighton at the Amex stadium looking for their first win in the Premier League this season. Eddie Howe was alongside Amanda Staveley in the stands as Graeme Jones took charge of his final game as interim manager. Howe will certainly have been very alarmed at the first half performance as yet again Newcastle sat back and let Brighton have all the possession. Second half was a bit better and we fought back to get a draw but it's very clear the task Eddie Howe has ahead of him getting this team away from the relegation zone before he can sign any players in January. One thing is for certain, we have simply got to move away from this back five defensive football because we need wins and playing for draws is not going to be enough to keep us up this season and survive in the Premier League.
