Gateshead 2 Alfreton Town 1 Match Reaction. Non League Special. With the international break going on it was time to go and watch another Gateshead game at the international stadium. They are currently playing in the Conference North of english football but i was very impressed with the standard at this level. Over 1100 people were at the game today and created an excellent atmosphere with plenty chanting going on throughout the game. It is very important that we get to highlight the non league side of football, especially after Covid has hit these clubs really hard so any financial backing we can give them does help. It was a great match with Alfreton certainly being the better team in the first half but Gateshead much improving in the second half. I would definitely recommend any football fan to support their local non league clubs when there is either and international break going on or their main team is away from home and you're not travelling to the game.
