WHY The Milwaukee Bucks CANNOT STOP the Boston Celtics! | Film Breakdown
Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr Last night the Boston Celtics tied their second round series at 2 games a piece as they beat the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 116-108, and while the Bucks defense late was the problem, the Celtics showed it’s gonna be tougher for the Bucks to beat them than Milwaukee thought and today I wanna show off why that is. So as mentioned before the Boston Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks last night by a score of 116-108 as they tied that series up at 2-2. The Bucks looked dominant early as they opened up a 10 point lead in the first quarter but the Celtics fight and sticktoitiveness helped them come away with the win here. The Bucks showed great defense early in Game 2, however the Boston Celtics reacted and made the Milwaukee Bucks defense adjust. The Milwaukee Bucks kept using the drop defense against the Boston Celtics and it worked to perfection as Tatum was missing three pointers early and it allowed Brook Lopez to comfortably stay back and help the Bucks protect the rim and the paint. Al Horford really came up big late for the Boston Celtics however as he dominated and helped the Celtics accelerate to the finish line.The Boston Celtics played great last night and the fact the team or head coach Ime Udoka was able to identify what was working for the Bucks and attack it accordingly was great. Udoka’s great set plays or design plays seem to be why this Celtics team has looked so good, especially over the past month and while I look at the Bucks as more talented, it seems coach Udoka has been out coaching Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer the whole series despite the series being tied and I think there’s something to say for that. Udoka might be the reason the Celtics are taking that next step forward as they didn’t have Marcus Smart when they won game 2 and didn’t have Robert Williams in Game 4 yet it didn’t seem to faze the Celtics as Udoka’s great game planning had them still operating like a team dealing with no injuries. Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr After an extremely tough blowout loss on Saturday night against the Memphis Grizzlies who were without Ja Morant, the Milwaukee Bucks redeemed themselves with an extremely impressive showing in Philadelphia against the 76ers last night and today I wanna talk about why while the team did have their struggles against the Grizzlies, them coming to play against the Philadelphia 76ers who are one of the top seeds in the East, was a reminder that this team is still a serious contender in the Eastern Conference. the Milwaukee Bucks got themselves a nice win over the Philadelphia 76ers last night as they won by a score of 118-116 and their execution for most of the second half as well as in the clutch moments of regulation was very great. The Bucks came out and played well opening up a 11 point lead in the first quarter but the Sixers quickly countered that and it looked like this would truly be the teams first big win with the duo of Embiid and Harden on the floor together, but the Bucks showed the exactly why they were the 2021 NBA Champs as they erased the Sixers 14 point second half lead. Defensively The Bucks stepped up and closed out on pretty much every possession from the Philadelphia 76ers in the second half. Even when the Bucks had some issues and left 76ers players open, they somehow turned positives into negatives as they turned open passes into turnovers for the opposing team. The Bucks did struggle with pressure points plays, however they showed in their March 2nd win against the Miami Heat that they do have the ability to guard pressure points plays, but they just need to step up when the opportunity arises to guard the play. The Giannis and Kris Middleton pick and roll was also something that was on display and the Bucks have used that play many times this month to sharpen it, and as of right now, things look scary for opposing teams come playoff time. When Giannis and Middleton aren’t running the pick and roll though, they’ve run double screens for Jrue Holiday and it’s really shown how diverse and agile their offense can be and what kind of plays they are elite in running. WHY the Boston Celtics Have Played ELITE BASKETBALL Lately!
Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr So last night the Boston Celtics got a very nice win on the road in Golden State against the Warriors and after this recent stretch of games their on, most people might look at the fact that Jayson Tatum has been playing out of his mind lately as the reasoning for this Celtics team’s recent recent run, but if you’re a diehard NBA fan i’m sure you know their defense is to thank and today i’m going to breakdown why that is. So last night the Boston Celtics beat the Warriors by a big margin as they won by a score of 110-88 and following that win the team has now won 6 of last 7 games. Like mentioned before Tatum has played out of his mind lately, averaging 35.1 points in the month of March alone, but like mentioned in the intro, if you’re not just an average or normal NBA fan and you’re more of a diehard basketball fan like myself, you’re probably aware of the true reason for this recent surge has been their defense. One guy who has been elite and many fans might happen to know should be in the Defensive Player of the year convo is Time Lord Robert Williams. Robert Williams has looked phenomenal for the Celtics and his ability to switch, rotate and block shots is a key part of the Celtics Defense. Another thing the Celtics do elite is spotting where the ball is going in passing lanes and jumping on the ball for the steal. The Celtics also seem to have a connectedness on defense. The Celtics ability to switch and rotate is absolutely phenomenal and it makes the Celtics look like the best defensive team in the NBA. Going back to Robert Williams tho, It’s not just how great Williams is on defense for the Celtics but his ability to throw it down and clean up missed shots is also super huge for the Celtics. Also it’s important to mention Marcus Smart has looked elite since taking over Point Guard or Ball Handling duties for Boston. Beyond his ball handling and phenomal defense tho, Smart can hit big shots as well. So this Celtics team truly is playing special basketball right now and they’re getting hot around the right time. WHY teams should WATCH OUT for the SURGING Charlotte Hornets
Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr So the Charlotte Hornets are a team that i’ve seen in the top of the league for offensive stats while researching stats for videos on other teams, but now that the team’s win four straight games and is 0.1 points off of leading the league in points per game I think it’s a good time to break down the Hornets play thus far this season. The Charlotte Hornets beat the 76ers by a score of 109-98 to end the Sixers 7 game win streak and the Hornets tremendous second quarter is what helped the team get last night’s victory. Gordon Hayward’s offense is what helped the Hornets the most last night as he dropped 30 points on a tremendous 13-16 shooting clip from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line. Hayward also had 4 rebounds, 7 assists and a great 3 steals as well. Last night was not the only impressive win the Hornets have gotten over this win streak as they also beat the 2021 NBA champions the Milwaukee Bucks in two straight games, im sure many of you are aware Jrue Holiday has been in Health and Safety protocols so he didn’t participate in either of those games, but those are still impressive wins for this young Hornets team nevertheless. Rather than just look at this win streak, let’s take a look at how well this Hornets team has fared for the entire 2021-22 NBA Season. The Hornets are in 2nd place for most points per game, 9th place for best field goal percentage and third in best three point percentage. The Hornets are also superb in terms of assists per game as well as lowest turnovers and most steals per game. The Hornets have also protected the rim well as they’ve averaged the 8th most blocks per game. The Hornets do have one red flag though and that is their defense. The Hornets have the fifth worst defensive rating this season, however ever since December 20th the Charlotte Hornets have the 9th best defensive rating in the NBA. So the Charlotte Hornets are clearly improving their defensive. The Hornets individual players have also played well as 6 players are averaging double digit points per game numbers and Terry Rozier, Kelly Oubre and Gordon Hayward have had great performances as of late. So this Charlotte Hornets team is very potent and also improving their flaws and today i’ll show you all the numbers that prove how much potential this Hornets team has. WHY the Memphis Grizzlies CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS in the 2022 NBA Playoffs!
Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr So i’ve wanted to talk about the Memphis Grizzlies since they won 10 out of 11 games without their leader and star Ja Morant, but I wanted to wait a bit and see how much better they’d play once Ja Morant returned to the team. Well Ja’s come back infrared hot and the Grizzlies have won 5 in a row so it seems like now is a good time to break down why this Grizzlies team is such a problem. So last night the Memphis Grizzlies won their 5th straight game like mentioned in the intro as they knocked off the Nets in Brooklyn by a score of 118 to 104 and never trailed in last night’s contest as well. Going back to how I said Ja Morant has played infrared hot lately, in his past 4 games he’s averaged exactly 35 points on 57% shooting from the field and 73% shooting from behind the arc. More impressively three of those four games which were of course all wins came against the Suns, Lakers and the Nets which shows this Grizzlies comes to play against the top teams in the league. I know the Lakers have struggled but playing against LeBron is always a big deal. Rather than just keep talking about their recent play, how about we look at how great they’ve played for the entire season thus far. The Grizzlies are doing phenomenal and in the top of the league on the offensive side of the ball. The team’s defense has been a bit of an area for concern despite the team being in the top 10 of three different defensive categories. However back on a positive note for the Grizzlies, these things can be fixed as things go along as the Grizzlies are the 2nd youngest team in the entire league. Ja Morant has also taken another leap. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr have also been tremendous this season as well, while the rest of the Grizzlies players have filled in the puzzle very nicely. The Grizzlies have a phenomenal young core of players as well as a great future, which is scary to think about when you realize they have the second young roster in the entire league while also holding on to the seventh best record in the NBA as of right now. Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr So after losing DeMar Derozan to the Bulls in free agency via a sign and trade deal with Chicago, I was very interested to see how the San Antonio Spurs would look this season. Looking at their record, you wouldn’t think the team is anything special, but today I wanna talk about why this team actually is special, and other teams in the league need to keep an eye out for them very soon. So last night the Spurs got a huge win over the current worst team in the league, the Detroit Pistons, as they absolutely manhandled them and beat them by a score of 144-109. Now I think it’s extremely important to note the Detroit Pistons were without a large number of their key rotation players including the 2021 first overall pick Cade Cunningham as well as guys like Isaiah Stewart, Trey Lyles, Cory Joseph and a few others. To give the Spurs credit though, they were without their best player as well as Dejounte Murray as he was in the NBA’s Health and Safety protocols. Nevertheless tho, that win last night meant the Spurs have now won four of their last five and beat teams such as the Lakers, Clippers and Jazz during this five game stretch as well. While this five game stretch has been nice for the Spurs, I think it’s more important to talk about how the team’s played for the entire season thus far. This season the Spurs are either leading or in the top 10 in the league in many different statistical categories. It’s even more impressive when you remember how young this Spurs team really is. Their defense is one area though that the Spurs desperately need to clean up as their opponents shooting high percentages and score a ton of points against them. Back on a positive note for the Spurs tho, the individual play from their players is exactly why this team has a chance to be scary in the coming future. Keldon Johnson, Keita Bates-Diop and Dejounte Murray have all made Spurs franchise history and NBA History the in the team’s previous few games. The team also has 7 guys averaging double digit point totals. WHY The Phoenix Suns are the MOST DOMINANT team in the Western Conference
Twitter: https://www.Twitter.com/SeanCostelloJr So one team that I’ve kept an eye on during their winning streak is the Phoenix Suns and now that they’ve won 13 straight games following their win last night against the San Antonio Spurs and even have some better stats than the first seeded Golden State Warriors, I’m gonna break down exactly why that is and how the Suns have dominated the NBA to reach this point. Last night the Phoenix Suns beat the San Antonio Spurs and they won by a score of 115-111 and that made it their 13th win in a row which of course is impressive. Now with how good the Golden State Warriors have looked and all the controversy that’s surrounded teams such as the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers, it feels like the success of the Phoenix Suns has gone unnoticed and today I wanna talk to you guys about why that shouldn’t be the case. Now this Phoenix Suns team has absolutely dominated the stat sheets thus far this season. They are either the best team or in the Top 5 of many different stat categories, including notably the best field goal percentage in the entire league. The Stat Sheet stuffing doesn’t just stop at offense for the Suns as they have the third best defensive rating in the entire NBA. In terms of individual player stats, the team has had nearly 7 players average double digit point totals for them as Cam Payne is shy by 0.2 points per game and they have two players averaging double doubles as Big Man DeAndre Ayton is averaging double digit points and rebounds and Chris Paul is averaging double digit points and assists this season. Now that’s all fine and well but the biggest thing that’s helped the Suns thus far this season has been the fact that they have the second easiest schedule in the entire NBA. However, the Golden State Warriors who are one game better than them in the Western Conference actually happen to be the team that has the easiest schedule in the entire league. I do believe the Warriors are the best team in basketball as of right now but the Suns have an easier remaining schedule for the rest of the season. The Suns will have to face some real tests though first as they’ll face the Nets and Warriors back to back following games in Cleveland and New York, and if they got 4-0 during that stretch, they’ll tie the longest win streak in Franchise History.
