West Ham United's failure to hit the target proved to be costly, as the Hammers drew 1-1 with struggling Burnley. The result has once again seen West Ham fail to capitalize on a good opportunity to get fifth place. The momentum of the game was building until Ashley Westwood suffered a horror injury in the first half. The Burnley player, who appeared to be in a strong state of discomfort, had to be taken off on a stretcher. After the game resumed, it became very stop-and-start. West Ham lost its spark, conceded a goal and failed to take clear-cut chances. Do you feel that the team lost cohesion? Comment below. This result is not all doom and gloom. In fact, West Ham United is still in with a chance to go through to the next round of the Europa League knockout stages if it manages to beat Sevilla next week. Being 1-0 down still isn't ideal, though. West Ham had a strong first half, but there was a void in the attack that would have been filled by Jarrod Bowen. Despite the best efforts of players such as Nikola Vlašić and Saïd Benrahma, the Hammers could not break Sevilla down. It's now time to rest in preparation for next Thursday. Although West Ham United lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb, the result was not the most important thing. West Ham, who had already qualified for the last 16, had nothing to lose and still advanced as winners of Group H. Youngsters made their professional debuts, with their families in attendance to remember such a special occasion. Some of the youngsters even earned the plaudits of the fans; Manny Longelo and Harrison Ashby had excellent games and are already being considered for the first team. Mark Noble, Jarrod Bowen, Craig Dawson, Aaron Cresswell and Saïd Benrahma scored their spot kicks to win the game. The celebrations were loud and aplenty. West Ham United beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Sunday afternoon to make it three wins in a row in all competitions. Spurs fans had claimed that the game at the London Stadium would be "like a cup final," but West Ham left victorious thanks to Michail Antonio's goal. West Ham showed team unity, while Spurs looked static for most of the game. Harry Kane failed to make a huge impact, and Ben Johnson pocketed Sergio Reguilon for most of the second half. Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo gave Reguilon a telling-off after the latter was substituted, suggesting that the manager was displeased with his left-back. Young right-back Ben Johnson received heavy praise for his role in the win, but he was not the only Hammer to be congratulated. Goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański had one of his best performances of the season, and centre-back Kurt Zouma put in another tough shift. The win was deserved in the end to ensure that West Ham has maintained its winning streak. Did Ben Johnson impress you? West Ham United remains top of its Europa League group after a strong 3-0 over Belgian side KRC Genk. Set pieces were key to the win, with two centre-backs scoring the first two goals for the Hammers. Defensive duo Craig Dawson and Issa Diop have excelled in the Europa League this season, and both were awarded with goals in either half. The goals were almost carbon copies of each other; Aaron Cresswell crossed into the box and found the defenders, who headed the ball into the net. Jarrod Bowen scored the third goal. The win puts West Ham six points clear at the top of the group. In theory, this means David Moyes's side is one win away from moving onto the knockout stages. It is an exciting though, and it shows that West Ham can compete in Europe. How far do you think West Ham can go in Europe? Comment below. West Ham United's unbeaten form in the Europa League continued following a 2-0 win over Rapid Vienna, although the performance was not as comfortable as many had predicted. Declan Rice opened the scoring with a tap-in in the first half, and the goal came thanks to some build-up play from Andriy Yarmolenko and Michail Antonio. Despite a frustrating second half, Saïd Benrahma scored the second goal deep into stoppage time to wrap things up. The Hammers' defensive display was strong and solid. Craig Dawson and Issa Diop, who have started in domestic cup games and Europa League games, played a good game and made several key interceptions. Young right-back Ben Johnson also looked comfortable on the right side of the field, which is his default position. These three players helped Alphonse Areola to have an easy night, and the Frenchman kept a clean sheet. Did you feel that the defence was particularly good? Comment below. West Ham United mathematically secured European football for next season following Wednesday's 3-1 away win at relegated West Bromwich Albion. The Hammers will still need at least one point to qualify for the Europa League if they are to aim even higher. Tomàš Souček, Angelo Ogbonna and Michail Antonio scored to seal the win on a cold night in Birmingham. Despite Declan Rice missing a penalty and VAR almost chalking off two goals, West Ham fought back in the final 20 minutes to seal victory. The result also led to West Brom manager Sam Allardyce announcing his resignation moments after the full-time whistle had sounded. Darren Randolph came in for Łukasz Fabiański after the latter was injured before the game. Randolph filled in perfectly, producing key saves and denying West Brom many chances. The Irish goalkeeper has once again proved that he is a reliable second-choice option. Will you be going to see West Ham in Europe next season? Comment below.
