West Ham United's unbeaten form in the Europa League continued following a 2-0 win over Rapid Vienna, although the performance was not as comfortable as many had predicted. Declan Rice opened the scoring with a tap-in in the first half, and the goal came thanks to some build-up play from Andriy Yarmolenko and Michail Antonio. Despite a frustrating second half, Saïd Benrahma scored the second goal deep into stoppage time to wrap things up. The Hammers' defensive display was strong and solid. Craig Dawson and Issa Diop, who have started in domestic cup games and Europa League games, played a good game and made several key interceptions. Young right-back Ben Johnson also looked comfortable on the right side of the field, which is his default position. These three players helped Alphonse Areola to have an easy night, and the Frenchman kept a clean sheet. Did you feel that the defence was particularly good? Comment below.
