Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this segment we give our game preview of the Thursday Night Football game between the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts. The Jets are flying high after knocking off the top team in the AFC heading into week 8, the Cincinnati Bengals. They were guided by former Western Kentucky Hilltopper Mike White. White threw for over 400+ yards and threw three touchdowns against Cincinnati. They will face the Indianapolis Colts this Thursday. Indianapolis was narrowly edged by their division rival the Tennessee Titans at home this past week. Carson Wentz played well but definitely has a throw in the end of that game he would like back. Michael Pittman Jr. continues to have a breakout sophomore year as he scored on two of Wentz three touchdowns against Tennessee. Jonathan Taylor also has an opportunity to move ahead as the NFL's league leading rusher following the injury to Derrick Henry. Who will win? Jets? Colts? Instant Reaction: Atlanta Braves Win 2021 World Series, Beat Astros in 6 Games | The Slumpbuster
Welcome in Slumpbusters! For the first time since 1995 the Atlanta Braves have won the World Series. In game Max Fried gave the Braves six innings of shutout baseball. This was the second time Atlanta shut out the Astros, doing the same in game 3 with Ian Anderson on the mound. Atlanta got home runs from Freddie Freeman, Dansby Swanson and World Series MVP Jorge Soler. Soler who was acquired in a trade with the Royals before the MLB Trade Deadline hit three total home runs in the series, including a leadoff game one shot in game one and the game-winner in game four. Astros hitters were stifled the entire series. Carlos Correa aside from a terrific game five hit under .200. Alex Bregman had two total hits and Yordan Alvarez hit under. 100 with zero RBI's. Houston's pitching wasn't much better aside from a game two performance by Jose Urquidy. Framber Valdez had a horrendous 19.29 ERA in his two World Series starts. Lance McCullers' injury clearly put the Astros rotation in a compromised position. The Braves could count on offense from all parts of their order thanks to Freeman, Austin Reilly, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall and Travis d'Arnaud. Despite losing Chalie Morton, Fried and Anderson were enough to get the job done with excellent contributions from bullpen arms like Tyler Matzek and Kyle Wright. Celebrate Atlanta and celebrate well because the Braves have officially broken the Georgia sports curse. Welcome in Slumpbusters! Once again I come to you on a Saturday afternoon to discuss the Texas Longhorns losing in embarrassing fashion. Texas entered the fourth quarter of their loss against the Baylor Bears leading 21-17 and ended up with the defeat. This is the fourth loss for the Longhorns as they have dropped contest to Arkansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma state prior to today. Against the Sooners and Cowboys the Longhorns also led entering the fourth quarter. This was a bad performance by Heisman hopeful Bijan Robinson who only managed 43 yards rushing and Casey Thompson failed to generate anything late. College Football Preview #6 Michigan @ #8 Michigan State Predictions | The Slumpbuster
Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this segment Kyle & Ju-Ju give their predictions and preview of Michigan & Michigan State's matchup in College Football week nine. Michigan State has the most recent win in the historic rivalry but Michigan holds the all-time lead. Jim Harbaugh is currently 3-3 against Sparty but breaking the tie could put Harbaugh's Wolverines in a position they've never been before, the college football playoffs. Mel Tucker's Spartans have made an incredible turnaround in his two years. Michigan State only had two wins in the previous season but are one of college football's few remaining unbeatens heading into this game. In fact, this is the deepest in a season both programs have been undefeated prior to facing one another. The Spartans are led by Heisman contender Kenneth Walker. Walker has had a fantasy season after coming to Michigan State via the college transfer portal. Michigan will counter with a 1-2 punch of Blake Corrum and Hassan Haskins. Both have strong defenses but what will be the difference? Can Cade McNamara outduel Payton Thorn? Will Aidan Hutchinson take control of the game for the Wolverines defensively? Welcome in Slumpbusters! We officially have our first entrant in to the 2021 World Series. The Houston Astros were able to beat the Boston Red Sox by a score of 5-0 to win the ALCS in six games. Luis Garcia gave the Astros 5 2/3 strong innings with seven strikeouts. To put the Astros on the board Yordan Alvarez went 4-for-4 with an RBI while Kyle Tucker contributed a home run and three RBI's. Boston's lineup fell flat in games four, five and six with a combined three runs scored. Dusty Baker will try and win his first World Series as a manager while the Astros try and remove the stain on their 2017 World Series Championship. Purdue not only beat the Hawkeyes but suffocated their offense at every turn. Iowa failed to produce more than 20 yards of total offense in the second half. This is not Purdue's first time defeating a Top-5 ranked team chasing a Championship. In Urban Meyer's last year the Boilermakers beat an unbeaten Ohio State team.
