Welcome in Slumpbusters! A trip to Super Bowl 56 is on the line when the Cincinnati Bengals travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. Cincinnati, a thought to be rebuilding franchise, is clearly ahead of schedule. The Bengals, with the return of quarterback Joe Burrow, are in a place they haven't been since the 1980's. It was the foot of kicker Evan McPherson that gave the Bengals the walk-off victory over the one-seeded Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs on the other hand are very familiar with the AFC Championship game as this will be their fourth consecutive season hosting the game. Patrick Mahomes had to will his Chiefs to an overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills to advance to this point. Mahomes, 26, and Burrow, 25, are undoubtedly the future stars of the game but who will add to their resume Sunday? Joining on this pod are Chiefs fan Steve Willis & Bengals analyst Jordan Heinz of @The SportsDudeHeinz Show . Welcome in Slumpbusters! The NFC playoff picture is officially set! After a battle royale in the NFC West the San Francisco 49ers cliched a wild card berth and Los Angeles won the division despite the loss. The New Orleans Saints won their game against the Atlanta Falcons but were eliminated with the 49ers win. The Rams benefitted from another Arizona Cardinals loss in the season final week to secure the division. However, Los Angeles' loss did drop them in the seeding, giving Tampa Bay the no. 2 seed. The Buccaneers will play the Eagles on Wild Card Weekend and ensure multiple home games should they advance. San Francisco will play a Dallas Cowboys team that played Saturday and throttled Philadelphia's backup unit. Arizona and Los Angeles will faceoff for a third time this season, they split the season series. Green Bay sits atop the bracket and will wait for their second round opponent to advance, they will play the lowest seed remaining. Kyle Ledbetter give his thoughts on the playoff picture after 18 weeks of NFL play. #NFL #NFLPlayoffs #NFLNews Recorded: Sunday, January 9, 2021 Host: Kyle Ledbetter Take It Easy Podcast Ig: @kyle.ledbetter619 | Twitter: @CSM_MemeInsta Social Media: Ig: @slumpbusterpodcast | Twitter: @slumpbusterpod Website: https://www.theslumpbuster.com/
Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this segment Kyle & Ju-Ju give their previews of the week 14 game between the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals. #Bengals #49ers #NFL Once again Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks put the San Francisco 49ers in a compromising position. San Francisco went in to Seattle thinking they turned their season around but left facing a must-win situation against Cincinnati. Jimmy Garoppolo struggled in this game throwing two key interceptions. Can Garoppolo rebound despite still missing Deebo Samuel? Additionally Nick Bosa has officially reached 12 sacks in 12 games. Why is Bosa not a leading candidate for comeback player of the year or defensive player of the year? Cincinnati also faced disappointment in week 13 as the Chargers blew them out on their homefield. Quarterback Joe Burrow also suffered an injury on his throwing hand that leaves his status questionable approaching game day. Bengal pass rusher Trey Hendrickson will look to extend his sack streak to nine straight games. Welcome in Slumpbusters! Michigan and Ohio State Football is one of the most historic rivalries in modern American sports. The Michigan Wolverines still hold a slight series advantage with a 59-51-6 record against the Buckeyes. However, recent history hasn't been so kind to the program in Ann Arbor or their head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh heading into Saturday had never beaten Ohio State in his six years since taking over as Wolverines head football coach. Michigan as a whole had lost their last eight games against Ohio State. Harbaugh has seen a lot of high pressure games in his coaching tenure but the yearly Ohio State matchup remained a Boogey Man for him. Following a year in which these two teams did not play, the 2021 game would be highly anticipated and highly impactful. Michigan entered the game as the number five team in the recent College Football Playoff poll with Ohio State ranked at two. Whoever won this game would all but certainly stamp their ticket to compete for a National Championship. Harbaugh's team got started early as Michigan marched down the field on a 10-play 75-yard drive that would result in a A.J. Henning rushing touchdown. Ohio State would answer with a field goal shortly thereafter to move the score to 7-3. After exchanging punts and turnovers the Buckeyes would be seize back the lead. C.J. Stroud was able to find Garrett Wilson on a 25-yard touchdown connection giving the Buckeyes a 10-7 advantage. The very next possession the Wolverines would answer. Hassan Haskins had himself an amazing day and it started with a one yard plunge at the goal line for Michigan to regain their lead 14-10. Ohio State would kick another Nah Ruggles field goal and enter the half down 14-13. From that point on the game would be all Michigan. The Buckeyes would come out of halftime and punt on their opening possession. Wasting no time, Michigan would score a touchdown on a three play drive. Haskins would once again find the end zone from 13 yards out. After another Ohio State punt, Haskins would score another one yard rushing touchdown pushing the lead to 28-13 Michigan. Ohio State would score a rushing touchdown of their own and nine plays later Michigan would answer with Haskins' fourth rushing touchdown. With time winding down Stroud was able to keep them in the game. Stroud did find TreVeyon Henderson on a fourth down scoring attempt to keep the game to one possession 35-27. However, Haskins was not done as he would ice the game with a historic fifth rushing score improving the Wolverine advantage to 42-27. This would be the final game score, giving Harbaugh his first win against the longtime rival Buckeyes. This win all but ensures Michigan should find itself in the College Football Playoffs but they do have to face a Wisconsin Badgers team much improved from the time they faced them earlier in the season. In order to recap this and more our resident Ohio State fan Andrew Hagenbaugh is here to give his instant reaction to the Wolverines winning the Big-10 East. #Michigan #OhioState #CollegeFootball Recorded: Saturday, November 27, 2021 Host: Andrew Hagenbaugh Ig: @andrewhagenbaugh | Twitter: @drewhagenbaugh Sponsors: CavemanCoffeeCo.Com | PROMO CODE : SLUMP Social Media: Ig: @slumpbusterpodcast | Twitter: @slumpbusterpod Website: https://www.theslumpbuster.com/
Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this segment Kyle & Ju-Ju give their predictions on the Thanksgiving Day games. In the morning the Lions will welcome in division rival Chicago. The Bears will not have starter Justin Fields at quarterback and will instead have to utilize Andy Dalton. Dalton will not be the only backup quarterback in this game as Detroit will have Tim Boyle under center Thursday. The mid-afternoon game will feature the Las Vegas Raiders heading to Jerry World to play the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas was shutdown offensively in their last matchup. Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb left the game with a head injury and Amari Cooper was out with illness. Dak Prescott will have a depleted wide receiver core at his disposal against the Raiders. Las Vegas is looking far from the team that began the season 3-0, they have lost games to the Giants, Chiefs and Bengals consecutively. Derek Carr has struggled and their defense has regressed. Can they avoid a 4-game losing streak in Dallas? The Thursday night game will have the Buffalo Bills playing in New Orleans. Josh Allen and the Bills just got embarrassed by the Indianapolis Colts. They will hope to rebound against a Saints team that has lacked an identity offensively with backup quarterback Trevor Siemien and an injured Alvin Kamara. #NFL #Lions #Cowboys Recorded: Tuesday, November 23, 2021 Host: Julian "Ju-Ju" Martinez Ig & Twitter: @jujutalkssports Kyle Ledbetter Take It Easy Podcast Ig: @kyle.ledbetter619 | Twitter: @CSM_MemeInsta Sponsors: CavemanCoffeeCo.Com | PROMO CODE : SLUMP Social Media: Ig: @slumpbusterpodcast | Twitter: @slumpbusterpod Website: https://www.theslumpbuster.com/
Welcome in Slumpbusters! The Texas football program continues to take its lumps as the season comes to a close. West Virginia is the latest team to throw dirt on the grave of the 2021 Longhorns season. Chris Del Conte called for the support from Longhorns fans of head coach Steve Sarkisian. Del Conte cited the roster turnover from the previous two recruiting classes as a reason for the struggles. Regardless of the reason the Longhorns are in the midst of their longest losing streak since 1956. West Virginia instantly began the scoring by taking the ball 75 yards on nine plays. They capped the effort with a Jarret Doege touchdown to Sam James. Texas opted to start Casey Thompson coming off his seven touchdown effort against the Kansas Jayhawks the week before. Thompson would go three and out on his first possession. Texas would fail to convert a first down on their first four possessions overall. In that time, the Mountaineers would take a 14-0 advantage with a second Doege touchdown to Winston Wright. On their fifth possession of the game Texas would finally answer. Kellan Robinson, subbing in for the injured Bijan Robinson, would score a 49 yard touchdown to bring the lead back to a one score game. However, Texas' would allow the Mountaineers to drive once again bringing the lead back to 14 points with a Leddie Brown rushing touchdown. Cameron Dicker would make a 50 yard field goal prior to halftime. West Virginia would enter the half leading 21-10. Steve Sarkisian would opt to make a change at the quarterback position to start the second half. Hudson Card kicked off the scoring with a beautiful 52 yard touchdown to fellow freshman Xavier Worthy. West Virginia traded touchdowns with the Longhorns as Doege found Sean Ryan for his third passing touchdown of the day. Roschon Johnson, who got the start at running back, would bring Texas back to a one score deficit following a West Virginia field goal. Card would briefly have to leave the game as he sustained an ankle injury. Card would re-enter with a taped ankle as Thompson aggravated a thumb injury he sustained earlier in the season. West Virginia would maintain their lead to hand Sark's team its sixth consecutive loss and ensuring Texas would be bowl ineligible for the first time since 2016. #Texas #Longhorns #HookEm Recorded: Saturday, November 20, 2021 Host: Julian "Ju-Ju" Martinez Ig: @jujutalkssports | Twitter: @jujutalkssports Sponsors: CavemanCoffeeCo.Com | PROMO CODE : SLUMP Social Media: Ig: @slumpbusterpodcast | Twitter: @slumpbusterpod Website: https://www.theslumpbuster.com/
Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this segment from the Slumpbuster Podcast, Kyle & Ju-Ju preview the week 11 Thursday Night Football game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. The NFC Wild Card picture continues to be a constantly changing trough of mediocre performances and the Atlanta Falcons are at the center of it. Atlanta was tied for the 7th-seed in last week projected NFL playoff picture, coming off a big win against the rival New Orleans Saints. They would go on to face a Dallas Cowboys team that would immediately humble them. Dallas had twice as many yards, held the Falcons to 1-for-11 on third down and beat Atlanta 43-3. Atlanta committed three turnovers additionally, two interceptions by Matt Ryan and one by Josh Rosen in mop up duty. They will face a New England team that was on the other side of a blowout in week 10. The Cleveland Browns travelled to face the Patriots in Foxboro and got absolutely worked by Bill Belichick's team. Mac Jones threw for less than 200 yards but only had four incompletions and three touchdowns. Rhamondre Stevenson was able to run for 100 yards and score while filling in for an injured Damien Harris. New England's defense held both Browns quarterbacks Case Keenum (83) and Baker Mayfield (73) to under 100 yards passing. The finals score was a 45-7 Patriots victory. With the Patriots chasing the Bills for an AFC East title, will they allow themselves to be trapped by the Falcons? #Falcons #Patriots #NFL Recorded: Wednesday, November 17, 2021 Host: Julian "Ju-Ju" Martinez Ig & Twitter: @jujutalkssports Kyle Ledbetter Take It Easy Podcast Ig: @kyle.ledbetter619 | Twitter: @CSM_MemeInsta Sponsors: CavemanCoffeeCo.Com | PROMO CODE : SLUMP Social Media: Ig: @slumpbusterpodcast | Twitter: @slumpbusterpod Website: https://www.theslumpbuster.com/
Welcome in Slumpbusters! The last calendar month has been brutal to the Texas Longhorns football program. Texas had lost three straight games prior to todays contest. Each loss they held leads over Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Baylor. The Iowa State Cyclones trailed also but by a mere 7-3 margin, after that it was all Cyclones. They handed the Longhorns their fourth straight loss by a margin of 30-7. Hudson Card played the majority of snaps at the quarterback position and had an average yards per completion of 4.4 with one touchdowns and barely 101-yards passing. Standout running Bijan Robinson wasn't able to generate anything either as he finished with only 90 rushing yards on 18 carries. The Longhorns ended drives with punts 11 times and turned the ball over with fumbles twice, including on their opening drive. Iowa State was led by their running back Breece Hall who averaged 7.2 yards per carry and scored twice in the win. Steve Sarkisian signed a six-year contract with Texas this offseason but fans have already turned on the newly hired coach. Texas athletics owes $20M+ to coaches no longer under their employee, could Sark add to this total? #Texas #HookEm #TexasLonghorns Recorded: Saturday, November 6, 2021 Host: Julian "Ju-Ju" Martinez Ig: @jujutalkssports | Twitter: @jujutalkssports Sponsors: CavemanCoffeeCo.Com | PROMO CODE : SLUMP Social Media: Ig: @slumpbusterpodcast | Twitter: @slumpbusterpod Website: https://www.theslumpbuster.com/
