There is no stopping the Multan-based franchise as of now. They are leading the charts with 12 points from 7 matches, winning six and losing only one game. They beat Karachi Kings in their recent match by 20 runs. On the other hand, the Peshawar-based franchise is in fourth, with 7 points from as many fixtures, winning three, losing three and a match abandoned due to rain. Despite not getting off to a good start, Peshawar did well to get into a winning habit before witnessing a complete washout against Lahore Qalandars. Coming into this game, Peshawar Zalmi lost to Islamabad United on Monday (March 4) by 29 runs. Things could have been embarrassing if Aamir Jamal hadn't hit a 49-ball 87 after they were reduced to 18/5 in no time, chasing 197. The Zalmi would want to keep that nightmare aside and come back stronger in what is a quick turnaround against the table toppers. Peshawar Zalmi would take a lot of pride with the fact that they are only team to defeat the Sultans in this PSL. The Babar Azam-led side beat the Mohammad Rizwan-led unit by 5 runs in a closely fought contest in Multan on February 23. On either side of that defeat, the previous season's runners-up have won three matches each, maintaining a nice winning streak.
