Shaquille O’Neal is ready to return to Tinseltown. Variety reports the Newark, N.J. native and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer is “venturing into the filmed animation space.” O’Neal will make his debut as a co-screenwriter and producer on the short “Headnoise,” mounted through his company Jersey Legends Productions. ... O’Neal will narrate the project in addition to writing the script with playwright Donnie F. Wilson. Hollywood is nothing new for O’Neal, who won three NBA titles on the Los Angeles Lakers playing alongside Kobe Bryant. According to the report, O’Neal’s film “examines the internal and external pressure to succeed, as told through childhood friends Rashaun and Damon, two talented basketball players from the same inner-city neighborhood.” “I’m so proud of ‘HeadNoise,’” O’Neal said. “It is my first time writing and producing my own project. I wanted to call attention to what so many people encounter, especially young adults, who deal with anxiety and stress. It was such an honor to create this piece with such a diverse team of people. Everyone should see it.” O’Neal currently is an NBA analyst for TNT. He was a 15-time All-Star, earning induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. O’Neal averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds during his career, and was named NBA MVP in 2000. O’Neal suited up for six teams during his two-decade run in the NBA: the Orlando Magic, Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. I’ve been a die-hard Seahawks fan since 1980 and thanks to YouTube, one of the most recognized 12s! I’ve been a season ticket holder since ‘96, but everything changed in 2013 when I launched my “NorbCam” channel. My video of our NFC Championship win over the 49ers was epic, then I documented my journey with my dad to Super Bowl 48. It was the greatest Hawks moment of our lives! My video reactions to the Seahawks 2014 NFC Championship miracle win over the Packers and our Super Bowl 49 loss both went viral and landed me on ESPN, NFL Network, SI.com, Yahoo sports and more. SB49 broke my heart, but my passion and faith in the Seahawks remain strong! Now I entertain thousands of fans around the world with my game reactions, music videos, comedy skits and vlogs – over 11 million views and growing! In 2017, I was inducted into the Pro Football’s Ultimate Fan Association. The success of NorbCam has enabled me to help others. I co-founded Fanz 4 Good, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps families in need. We award thousands of dollars in holiday grants to struggling families and provide supplies to cancer patients. We raised over $20,000 to help a Seahawks couple devastated by COVID and have raised over $18,000 to help 89-year-old Mama Blue fight pancreatic cancer. I’ve mentored young YouTubers and spoken to students about working hard.
