Motagua vence 1-0 al Real España y es líder del torneo Clausura
El Motagua se colocó este domingo en la primera posición del torneo Clausura de la Liga Nacional, merced a su triunfo 1-0 ante el Real España, sitial que comparte con el Marathón de San Pedro Sula, los dos únicos equipos que llevan campaña perfecta al ganar los primeros tres partidos del certamen. Desde el inicio del partido, el conjunto azul manejó la iniciativa en el duelo, sin embargo el Real España también hizo lo suyo en busca de abrir el marcador lo que nunca llegó, aunque las oportunidades más claras fueron para el Motagua. Los españolistas jugaron con 10 hombres desde el minuto 19, por la doble amonestación contra el juvenil Edilson López, esa situación complicó las cosas para el conjunto sampedrano, dirigido por el colombiano Carlos Restrepo. El guardameta del Real España, Luis “Buba” López, intervino de manera espectacular para evitar la caída de su arco en un par de ataques del Motagua, esa fue la razón para que el primer tiempo del partido terminara con empate sin goles. Al minuto 59 también fue expulsado el defensor motagüense, Carlos “El Mango” Sánchez, por doble amonestación, dejando a su equipo con 10. Desde entonces el partido fue parejo con jugadas ofensivas en ambos arcos. El único gol del partido llegó al minuto 79, luego de un centro desde el costado izquierdo enviado por Omar “El Burrito” Elvir, quien habilitó al paraguayo Roberto Moreira quien barriéndose aún con una marca estableció el 1 – 0 definitivo. Al concluir la tercera jornada del torneo Clausura, Motagua es líder con nueve unidades, superando al Marathón que tiene la misma cantidad de puntos, pero los azules gozan de mejor diferencia de goles en el torneo.
