The Brazilian was sent off for picking up a second yellow card following a foul on Tiago Djalo, who reacted with a foul-mouthed rant and was also shown a red card. The Disciplinary Commission of the French professional league (LFP) handed Neymar a two-match ban, which means he will miss Saturday's trip to Strasbourg and Saint-Etienne's visit the following weekend.
Arsenal endured a nervous night as they lost 1-0 to Greek side Olympiakos on Thursday but still progressed into the Europa League quarterfinals 3-2 on aggregate. After a 3-1 victory in Athens last week and reaching halftime unscathed in the return, Arsenal looked comfortable. But when Youssef El Arabi's deflected shot left Bernd Leno wrong-footed early in the second half it gave the visitors hope and increased the tension among the home ranks. Arsenal wasted several late chances to ease the jitters with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, restored to the starting line-up being left out of Sunday's north London derby for disciplinary reasons, guilty of a poor miss. Olympiakos had Ousseynou Ba sent off late on and Arsenal were spared any late dramas as they avenged last season's elimination by the Greek champions to take their place in Friday's last-eight draw. Olympiakos will take pride from a third successive away win against Arsenal but the damage was done in the first leg when they conceded two late goals having equalised. Arsenal were comfortable until a loose ball by Dani Ceballos led to El-Arabi's goal which gave the visitors hope. As Olympiakos pushed forward they allowed gaps at the back and Arsenal should have capitalised with substitute Martin Odegaard firing over and Nicolas Pepe having a goalbound effort deflected away while Aubameyang could have had a hat-trick. Arsenal have now made it to the quarterfinals for the fourth time in their last five Europa League/UEFA Cup campaigns. Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admitted his side could have played better on the night. "Really happy to be through. We had a tough opponent, so happy to be through. Sometimes we have to be fair with ourselves -- we were nowhere near the levels we could be," Arteta said. "We were unstable with the ball and we gave it away. It's impossible when you give the ball away to have any structure. We created enough chances to win but were nowhere near the levels in which we can perform. "We can't use any excuses. We had fresh players in the side. We started the game really well but then we had a lack of stability. We need to keep the ball and play some passes together and not just keep giving the ball away in transitions. "When we conceded, we did get better and got more control but with their goal, we gave them some belief, which you cannot give to the opponent. We'll get better. When it comes to decision-making and execution, it's a little bit more difficult. "We need another win in the Premier League and it's a big chance after the international break to get a run together." The Toronto Raptors started the season 0-3 for the first time in 15 years and they have not been playing good. But the best remedy for that is a win and against the Knicks is a great opportunity. Though the Raptors did not play well, they still won because the Knicks destroyed themselves. The Knicks missed 20 3-pt shots in a row and went 3/36 for the game. With a poor shooting effort like that, there was no chance any team would lose to them tonight. Raptors finally get their first win of the season despite Pascal Siakam not playing due to a disciplinary suspension from the Raptors staff. Good lesson to learn. Tune in for all the details and breakdown of the game. Like, share and subscribe to the RaptorsRapUp! #raptors #knicks #win
Paris St Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir players, as well as the three onfield match officials, took a knee before their rescheduled Champions League game that was eventually won 5-1 by the French side on Wednesday (December 9). The match had been suspended on Tuesday (December 8) when the players walked off in protest after the Turkish club accused a match official of racism. Players also held their fists in the air as they gathered around the centre circle and wore 'No to racism' t-shirts during the warm-up. UEFA said on Wednesday that it had appointed an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to "conduct a disciplinary investigation regarding the incident" on Tuesday. The incident was sparked when Basaksehir's assistant coach Pierre Webo was shown a red card for protesting against a refereeing decision and the Turkish side then alleged that the Romanian fourth official Sebastian Coltescu used a racist term towards the Cameroonian. The four Romanian match officials were replaced for Wednesday's re-start and Webo sat in the stands with the rest of his team's staff after his red card was suspended pending the UEFA investigation. Taking a knee was popularised by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in 2016 and gained steam as an anti-racism protest following the death of George Floyd, a Black man who died in police custody in Minneapolis in May. Two banners carrying anti-racism messages were placed in the Auteuil tribune of the Parc des Princes stadium. The first read 'Support to Mr Webo... Proud of the players... Against racism', with the second one saying 'Paris united against racism'. UEFA had two banners of their own with both clubs' logos, reading 'No to racism', one in French and the other in English. The game, played without spectators as part of restrictions in France to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, was one-sided, with PSG prevailing thanks to a Neymar hat-trick and a Kylian Mbappe double. France internationals Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe, stopped by Webo on their way back to the dressing room and gave him their shirt.

This is one of the most violent college basketball fights EVER -- courtesy of the women of Alabama St. and Texas Southern. ASU was being blown out 81-54 on Monday night in a super testy Southwestern Athletic Conference game in Montgomery ... when a fight broke out and escalated QUICKLY. The benches cleared and a BUNCH of players threw wild haymakers -- some connected, some didn't -- but good lord, it was crazy. Staffers and security rushed on to the court attempting to stop the brawl -- but the players overpowered them at first. At one point, the fight spilled on to the scorer's table -- and the combatants came thiiiis close to knocking the whole thing over. Eventually, officials were able to separate the teams and sent everyone to the locker rooms. A spokesperson for the ASU police tells us there were NO arrests made. Reps for Alabama State were pretty pissed over the whole incident on Tuesday ... saying there WILL be repercussions for their players' actions. "I am extremely disappointed by the behavior of our women athletes at the end of their game against Texas Southern University," ASU President Quinton T. Ross Jr. said in a statement. "Alabama State University has a zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior." Ross added the school is now launching a full-blown investigation into the fight ... with suspensions and other disciplinary actions almost certainly on the way. For their part, Texas Southern's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, Kevin Granger, said he was "deeply disappointed" in his team's actions as well, and he promised a thorough review of it all.
