Iowa State is 5-3 and 3-2 in Big 12 play, they are coming off a disappointing loss 38-31 to West Virginia in week 9 of the college football season. The Cyclones were a top 10 football team coming into the 2021 season, but have suffered tough losses to Iowa, Baylor and losing last week in Morgantown, WV against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Meanwhile, the Horns have now lost 3 straight games and are at major risk of losing a 4th straight for the first time since 2010. Texas, once again, blew a 4th quarter lead to Baylor, 31-24. Previously, Texas was stunned 55-48 loss to Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, TX. Then, the following week the Longhorns fell 32-24 to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Austin, TX after leading 24-16 heading into the 4th quarter. Texas surrendered 118 yards on the ground to Oklahoma State Cowboys RB Jaylen Warren in the 4th quarter alone. Warren had 20 carries for 75 yards in the first three quarters, but the OSU running back went wild on the Texas defense in the final frame to the tune of 13 carries for 118 yards. Texas has now given up 39 carries for 320 yards (8.2 yards per carry) to its last 3 opponents in the FOURTH QUARTER ALONE, while being outscored in the final period 55-10. Texas vs. Iowa State will feature two of the top running backs in NCAA football with Breece Hall and Bijan Robinson. Breece Hall has scored a rushing touchdown in the 20 consecutive games, tying Derrick Henry's number of consecutive games with a rushing touchdown and now 3 behind the all-time record. Texas entered the fourth quarter of their loss against the Baylor Bears leading 21-17 and ended up with the defeat. This is the fourth loss for the Longhorns as they have dropped contest to Arkansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma state prior to today. Against the Sooners and Cowboys the Longhorns also led entering the fourth quarter. This was a bad performance by Heisman hopeful Bijan Robinson who only managed 43 yards rushing and Casey Thompson failed to generate anything late. Tanner Brown's fourth field goal of the game gave No. 12 Oklahoma State its first lead, and Spencer Sanders' scrambling 10-yard touchdown run with 2:18 to play capped a 32-24 victory over No. 25 Texas on Saturday to keep the Cowboys undefeated. Texas built leads of 17-3 and 24-13 behind three touchdowns from Bijan Robinson before Oklahoma State's defense and punishing run game behind Jaylen Warren took over for the Cowboys (6-0, 3-0 Big 12). It was the second straight week Texas (4-3, 2-2) surrendered a big lead in a tough loss. The Longhorns led Oklahoma 28-7 before losing 55-48 last week. Brown's kicking and Jason Taylor II's 85-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter kept the Cowboys' in the game while Sanders and the offense were struggling early.
