We are set for the final game of the three-match ODI series between the hosts Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka were stretched quite hard in the second ODI and managed to just get over the line and Zimbabwe would be hoping to win those crucial little moments in this game and level the series to gain some much-needed confidence ahead of the T20I series. The hosts Sri Lanka won't be happy with their performance especially with the bat in this series. Their batters have been guilty of throwing away their starts and it was Liyanage who with his 95 displayed some lone warrior skills in the last game. In the first match it was Asalanka who bailed them out with a fantastic century. However they need their top order to fire and the likes of Kusal Mendis Samarawickrama and Avishka will be itching to get a big score. Hasaranga is still doubtful and Sri Lanka might just rest him and keep their T20I captain fresh for that series. Dilshan Madushanka has bowled beautifully while Theekshana bamboozled Zimbabwe batters with his crafty tweakers in the last game. We can expect them to sizzle again with the ball. Zimbabwe on the other hand have been good with the ball too. They almost made the match out of their below-par total of 208 but need to bat better. They have been heavily depended on few players like Craig Ervine Sikandar Raza. Ryan Burl and even Sean Williams who is not present in this series and it is high time that other players start contributing. Gumbie looked well in his 37-ball stay in the last game while Ervine batted brilliantly for his 82. Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl have not yet lived up to their billing with the bat and if these seniors and couple of youngsters can fire in unison we might see Zimbabwe coming out on top. Richard Ngarava has been brilliant so far in this series and picked up a five-wicket haul in this game while other pacers like Muzarabani and Faraz Akram have also bowled well. Can Zimbabwe get their act together and level the series? The third and final game of the ODI series between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will be played on Thursday. This high-octane clash will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pitch Report R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo offers equal assistance to the batters and the bowlers. The batters will have to spend some time in the middle before they can start taking down the bowling attack. The spinners will get plenty of assistance from the surface. The home team Sri Lanka will be without Pathum Nissanka and Wanindu Hasaranga. The star leg-spinner is yet to recover fully but is likely to be fit only for the final game of the series. Nissanka will miss out due to Dengue and has been replaced by young Shevon Daniel. He might not make it to the XI though as Nuwanidu Fernando is likely to open alongside another comeback man Avishka Fernando. Both are talented batters and with likes of Sadeera Samarawickrama Charith Asalanka and captain Mendis forming a strong middle order Sri Lanka would be looking to deliver strong performances with the bat. However the focus will be on Dasun Shanaka who has been removed as captain has been under criticism lately for his inconsistent performances. On the bowling front Akila Dananjaya has made his comeback into the national side but he might miss the cut in the XI with presence of Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage in the squad. Dushmantha Chameera is also fully fit and raring to go while Dilshan Madushanka would be looking to continue his great form from the ODI World Cup in India. Overall. lankans are a strong unit and we can expect them to put Zimbabwe under lot of pressure in the first ODI. It was an extraordinary day of Test match cricket as ball dominated the bat yesterday. India get the first-innings lead. It was the pace bowler's paradise as 23 wickets fell on the first day for 270 runs. At the end of it all the Test match is nicely poised with India having their slight noses in front but South Africa are not out of it by any means. Today's play will be crucial for both sides. Let's recap you how day 1 panned out. The Proteas lost de Zorzi and Stubbs cheaply. It was South African skipper Dean Elgar who won the toss and elected to bat first on a challenging surface. Little did he know what was to follow thereafter. South Africa were blown away by a certain Mohammed Siraj as wickets fell at regular intervals. Only two players crossed double digits in David Bedingham. Kyle Verreynne as they scored 12 and 15 respectively. The rest of them fell for single digits as South Africa were bowled out for 55 in the first session of play in 23.2 overs. Mohammed Siraj was the star of the show with figures of 6/15 in 9 overs. Mukesh Kumar picked up a couple of wickets in his 2.2 overs. While Jasprit Bumrah picked up a couple of wickets for 25 runs in 8 overs. Only 4 bowlers were required to be used by the Indians. In reply India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. Shubman Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma built a partnership of 55 runs for the second wicket with Rohit scoring 39 off 50 balls while Shubman Gill scored 36 off 55 balls. Both getting starts and getting out. Virat Kohli came in and looked at ease as he held the innings together with his 46 off 59 balls and top scored in the innings. India were 153/4 at one stage but then shockingly lost 6 wickets for 0 runs in a span of 12 balls to be bowled out for 153 with an overall lead of 98 runs. Wickets were shared by the South African pacers. Kagiso Rabada Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger all picked up three wickets apiece while there was a run out in the innings as well. Faced with a deficit of 98 runs South Africa put on an improved batting display. The openers Aiden Markram Dean Elgar put on 37 runs for the first wicket. Dean Elgar in his final innings fell for 12 to Mukesh Kumar. David Bedingham has just come into the crease. Siraj draws first blood by dismissing Markram on two Elgar chops one back onto the stumps to give Bumrah his first and fall on four Debutant Stubbs departs on three as the Indian pace duo of Bumrah and Siraj breathed fire South Africa were reduced to 15/4. Rohit starts positively and hits Ngidi for three boundaries in the second over KG Rabada draws first blood for South Africa by dismissing Jaiswal on a duck.
