He might not make it to the XI though as Nuwanidu Fernando is likely to open alongside another comeback man Avishka Fernando. Both are talented batters and with likes of Sadeera Samarawickrama Charith Asalanka and captain Mendis forming a strong middle order Sri Lanka would be looking to deliver strong performances with the bat. However the focus will be on Dasun Shanaka who has been removed as captain has been under criticism lately for his inconsistent performances. On the bowling front Akila Dananjaya has made his comeback into the national side but he might miss the cut in the XI with presence of Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage in the squad.
