Windsor Express Tie Up NBL Finals In Dramatic Fashion

The NBL Finals is down to a best of three. The Windsor Express took home court advantage back with a 109-105 victory over the Halifax Rainmen in Game 4 on Friday night. With the series knotted up at 2-2, the Express win guarentees a Game 6 back at the WFCU Centre on Tuesday, April 28th. Windsor held an 85-75 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Halifax fought back, tying the game at 93-93 after a Kevin Young layup. With the score 95-95, Jamarcus Ellis nailed two clutch free throws in relief of Quinnel Brown, who was hurt on the play, pushing the Express ahead by two with 2:44 left. Brown returned to the game a few seconds later. Ellis would later drop two more free throws, putting Windsor ahead by three with 17 seconds left. After a poor free throw shooting performance in Game 3, the Express redeemed themselves, nailing 10 of their last 13 shots from the line down the stretch and shooting 70.2% as a team in the contest. The star of the show tonight for Windsor was Kirk Williams Jr., who led all scorers with 36 - a high for an Express player in this year's postseason. He also had 9 rebounds. Spread Out Offense Paces Windsor Express To Game 1 Victory!

The Windsor Express struck first in the 2015 NBL Finals with a 113-104 win over the Halifax Rainmen in Game 1 on Wednesday night. Chris Commons had a game high 33 points and also collected 6 rebounds in the win. Windsor took an early 18-7 lead over the Rainmen, closing out the quarter up 28-22. The lead expanded to as many as 15 early in the second quarter before Windsor ended the first half up 59-51. Halifax was in foul trouble all night long, committing 25 fouls in the first half and opening the third quarter with four players possessing three fouls. But the Rainmen fought through their troubles and eventually tied the game 69-69 in the third, before the Express pushed forward to regain the lead and finish the third up 80-77. The final frame had a similar feel to it, with Windsor clutching onto a five point lead before Halifax once again tied the score, this time at 97-97. But Windsor accellerated from there, taking advantage of an 8-0 run and holding the lead for good, to bring them one game closer to a second NBL Championship. A scary moment in the fourth as Rainmen forward, Liam McMorrow came down awkwardly trying to grab a rebound and hit the court hard, eventually having to leave on a stretcher. Tony Bennett helped Commons' effort with 25 points, while Quinnel Brown followed behind with 22. SUBSCRIBE to NBL Canada for more! http://bit.ly/1rw2CFU And be sure to keep us with us on Social!
