Flen Whitfield scored a game-high 31 points to go along with 11 rebounds as the K-W Titans came up short against the Windsor Express in game 1 of the Central Division semi-finals, 112-105. In their first playoff game in franchise history, the Titans looked ready to go, scoring the game's first ten points for a 10-0 lead, as they finished the first quarter on a three-pointer from Ed Horton to make it 26-21. However the second quarter wasn't as kind to Kitchener-Waterloo, as the Express closed out the half on a 12-5 run, in a quarter where Windsor scored 32 points, and held a 10-point lead at the break. The second half proved to be more of the same from the Express, with their lead reaching as many as 21 points. Adam Blazek provided some hope with 6:24 to go in the game, knocking down a three-ball while getting fouled, leading to a rare four-point play, and cutting the Windsor lead down to 12. Blazek finished the game 16 points and 7 rebounds, while knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. The Express committed 12 turnovers on the night, and with 1:36 to go Whitfield turned one of them into 2 points, and trimmed the lead to 104-103, giving the Titans hope of an unthinkable comeback. But with no fouls to give, the Titans couldn't pull off the miracle, as the Express scored 8 of the next 10 points to close out the game, and secure the victory. Aside from Whitfield's outstanding performance, Isiah Umipig also picked up a double-double on the night, finishing with 11 points and 10 assists. Warren Ward had a team-high 24 points for Windsor, while Logan Stutz also collected a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. Despite the loss, K-W showed resiliency on the glass, outrebounding the Express 17-13 offensively and turning them into 18 second chance points. However they got burned with turnovers, commiting 15 of them, and Windsor responded with 27 points off those mistakes. Whitfield, Blazek, Horton, Umipig, Cavell Johnson, and Adam Wing all finished with double figures for the Titans. Tramar Sutherland struggled going just 1-for-8 from the field.
