The Michigan Wolverines really struggled defensively against the Nittany Lions this past Saturday? What went wrong? Why did Penn State find success on the ground? I cover the biggest plays from Michigan's defense this past weekend and answer any questions you have about this defense. 00:00 - Intro 03:34 - 1 09:27 - 2 16:09 - 3 20:37 - 4 26:00 - 5 33:35 - 6 37:02 - 7 44:03 - 8 48:27 - 9 55:15 - 10 1:00:38 - 11 1:06:19 - 12 1:10:56 - 13 1:14:19 - 14 1:18:04 - 15 1:24:35 - 16 1:28:57 - 17 1:35:33 - 18 1:39:03 - 19 1:43:07 - 20 1:47:40 - Answering Questions #MichiganFootball #FilmAnalysis #MichiganDefense
Thankfully, the Wolverines pulled this one out 81-71 and avoided a monumental upset vs. Oakland University. Isaiah Livers & Hunter Dickinson led the way for Michigan, putting up 22 points and 19 points, respectively. No other Wolverine posted double digit points. In this video, I break down a few key plays for Michigan, explain why turnovers were such an issue in the first half, and cover the main highlights in this unexpected battle. Transfers Chaundee Brown (Wake Forest) and Mike Smith (Columbia) impressed in Michigan Basketball's season opener win against the BGSU Falcons 96-82. After only 1 point in the first half, Brown warmed up from beyond the 3-point line, putting up 18 second-half points to continue to put Michigan ahead of the Falcons. Mike Smith showed to be a capable replacement of Zavier Simpson, at least offensively. He was consistently driving to the basket, dishing out passes nicely and finishing around the basket himself at an impressive rate. He posted 8 assists to only 1 turnover as the clear starting PG. True freshman 7'2 center Hunter Dickinson also had himself a fantastic debut, showing off elite passing ability from the block and some advanced post-up moves near the basket. Household names Franz Wagner & Isaiah Livers performed admirably, with Livers shining early and Wagner displaying some added strength from the offseason with a few nice finishes. Michigan starts the season 1-0 and takes on Oakland on Sunday, which should be a bit of an easier match-up than what the Wolverines faced on Wednesday night.
