► CHECK US OUT ON TWITCH: http://bit.ly/SMDTwitch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man Utd travel to Leipzig to face Rb Leipzig in the final game of the group stages in the Champions League. So let’s take a look at how you can beat a Julian Nagelsmann team. Julian Nagelsmann’s RB Leipzig are one of the most exciting teams on the planet. Without the ball they press high and with it they use aggressive forward passes, positional rotation and excellent off the ball movement to break teams down. Under Nagelsmann, Leipzig have adopted a number of different shapes and formations but regardless of how they set up the same attacking principles remain. ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube You have to be brave and press the German’s high up the pitch. As a progressive side, Leipzig look to play through pressure to create space higher up the pitch for the forwards. A sound strategy but any team who does this can be caught in possession and Leipzig are no exception. ► JOIN PATREON: https://bit.ly/StatmanPatreon Bayern Munich massively disrupted Leipzig from playing out of the back and controlling the game by pressing in a 3-1-3-3. This stopped Leipzig from their usual plan of playing centrally, forcing them to go long which Bayern’s centre backs dealt with easily, regaining possession. The loss of Timo Werner does reduce their direct threat in behind so you can afford to be braver and press them out of the back in a 3-1-3-3 to disrupt their play and force them to go long. Then when you’ve got control you need to play wide to stretch Leipzig horizontally, opening up lanes for dangerous underlaps. And by playing a ball carrier in central midfield, you can draw pressure which can further facilitate those underlaps. We saw Manchester United do this through Paul Pogba when the sides met in the Champions League. With the Frenchman picking up the ball, driving at Leipzig then splitting the defence with a through ball to Mason Greenwood. And finally by playing wide and drawing Leipzig’s press, you can create space for your supporting midfielders to get dangerous shots off from the edge of the box. #Nagelsmann #RbLeipzig #ManUtd Socials: 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StatmanDave 📸Instagram: http://bit.ly/StatmanInsta 🖥See more at https://statmandave.com ________________________________________________________________________ ► Artist Attribution Music By: "After The Fall" Track Name: "Pieces (Extended Version)" • ATF LinkTree - https://linktr.ee/AftertheFall • DOWNLOAD @ https://www.chilloutmedia.com/atf License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) - Full license here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... • Music released by: Chill Out Records @ https://goo.gl/fh3rEJ & https://www.LoFi-HipHop.com • (C) Copyright Notice: This is FREE (Royalty Free Music) that has been publicly released by Chill Out Records - No Copyright Music (Chill Out Records LLC) for use by content creators within their own YouTube and TikTok Musical.ly videos. Welcome back guys! Today we’ve got a new Man United video for you. After another fine performance from Donny van de Beek against Istanbul Basaksehir. Man Utd fans have been calling to see the dutchman start consistently in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United set up. So let’s take a look at how Donny van de Beek can make a difference for Solskjaer’s side. Check my coverage of the Istanbul game on Man Utd’s official instagram 📸: https://www.instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE3ODQ0NDAzODEwNzU5Nzc4?igshid=1vx0knmz2ovjw&story_media_id=2161172967978151454 Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer, Donny van de Beek has found it difficult to force his way into the first eleven mainly because he’s competing with the best number 10 in Europe right now, Bruno Fernandes. For Ajax, van de Beek largely played in Bruno’s position so it’s no surprise that he’s found it difficult to displace the man who’s been directly involved in 34 goals in his first 35 games for Manchester United. Because of this Donny’s mainly been used as an option off the bench but he’s still managed to influence games despite averaging just 14.6 minutes per Premier League appearance. He scored with his first shot in a United shirt & within 10 minutes of coming on against Arsenal, he came the closest to equalising when he forced Elneny to hit his own post. His most recent impressive performance came playing from deep alongside Fred in a double pivot. The dutchman had an impressive night against the Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir and it was a good example of how Solskjaer could fit VDB in the same team as Bruno Fernandes. From this deeper position, Van de Beek finds himself with time and space to orchestrate United’s build up. And this is something that’s massively lacking from United’s midfield which can force Bruno Fernandes to drop deep to organise. But with Donny in this deeper position, it allows Bruno to stay higher up the pitch where he can better influence the scoreline. Do you think Donny van de Beek should be a starter for Man Utd? In today’s video we’ll be looking at why Man Utd are heavily linked with the signing of Brazilian Left-back, Alex Telles. Alex Telles spent his entire youth career at local side Juventude before he made his professional debut for the side at 19 years old, facing São Jose. He scored his first professional goal just seven months later against Cruzeiro before he made a move to Gremio in December 2012. His one season in the Brazillian top flight saw him named in the Serie A team of the year before he earned a move to Galatasaray in January 2014. After starting quickly, registering his first goal & assist in just five starts, his goal returns slowed. Impressive performances earned him a loan with an option to buy to Inter Milan in 2015. However, a red card cost him his place in the team and a permanent move to Italy, but this opened the door for Porto to replace their outgoing Brazillian left back in Alex Sandro, with Telles. After five seasons at five different clubs, Telles finally found a home in Portugal, being directly involved in 60 goals in just 127 Liga NOS appearances but where does he play? Telles is a playmaking left back. He’s got exceptional technique which is highlighted in his passing range, with the Brazillian comfortable with both short crisp passes as well as more difficult long switches. He’s very much in the mould of a Trent Alexander-Arnold or a Joshua Kimmich. A player that’s arguably too technical for a defensive role and could perhaps be more useful in midfield areas. Man United are not the only team in for the Brazilian left-back. So what’s next for Alex Telles? With his contract expiring in 2021, Porto are looking to cash in on him now rather than lose him for free in the summer. He’s been linked to a whole host of top European clubs including Chelsea, Spurs, PSG and Manchester United so expect him to move to one of the big boys. But with Chelsea and Spurs both recruiting in that area this summer, and Juan Bernat as one of PSG’s more consistent players, a move to Old Trafford seems the most likely move for the Porto man. And it’d make sense tactically, with him easily able to hold the width on the left to allow Marcus Rashford to focus on becoming one of the most dangerous goalscorers in the Premier league once again. Where do you think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will finish in the Premier League this season? #AlexTelles #ManUnited 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StatmanDave 📸Instagram: http://bit.ly/StatmanInsta 🖥See more at https://statmandave.com ________________________________________________________________________ ► Artist Attribution Music By: "After The Fall" Track Name: "Pieces (Extended Version)" • ATF LinkTree - https://linktr.ee/AftertheFall • DOWNLOAD @ https://www.chilloutmedia.com/atf License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) - Full license here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... My 2020/2021 Premier League Predictions | Champions, Top 4, Relegation and Top Scorer. In today’s video, I’m looking ahead to the upcoming Premier League season and making my predictions based on the stats and tactics! ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube Liverpool walked the Premier League last season, as their Jurgen Klopp-assembled team found yet a new level and finally brought the trophy to Merseyside. Liverpool’s fearsome front 3 of Salah, Mane and Firmino all had incredible seasons once more - thanks largely to the creative prowess of Andy Robertson and in-particular Trent Alexander-Arnold from full-back. Not to mention their league-best defensive abilities. Many are predicting that Liverpool’s cycle is coming to an end but I think there’s at least one title left in this side and I’d back Klopp to win back-to-back titles - especially if they can bring in Thiago from Bayern Munich. Man City still haven’t addressed their soft underbelly (although they have been linked strongly with Kalidou Koulibaly) and that’s a real concern for me. Despite Chelsea’s FIFA-esque transfer window, in which they’ve signed Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr, they’re still in the building stages as are Manchester United and Arsenal - all of whom are teams headining in the right direction at least. I’d also expect Spurs to make some serious ground on the top four this season given their strong record under Jose Mourinho and the addition of Doherty, although they may just miss out on Champions League football At the other end of the table I’d expect to see 2 of the 3 promoted sides (West Brom and Fulham) go straight back down alongside Aston Villa, whilst Brighton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace could all be in serious trouble too. In the interest of balance, I have high hopes for the other promoted side - Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United - to have an excellent season and make a serious push for the top half - although they may just fall short this time around. Perhaps one of the more surprising predictions that I’m making is that Southampton will finish above Leicester City - I could see the Foxes having a pretty dire season for many reasons (Europa League fatigue, overreliance on Jamie Vardy, the loss of Ben Chilwell) and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them fall to mid-table mediocrity despite being in a pretty legitimate title race up until Christmas in 19/20. Anyway, what do you guys think? Today we’re going to be taking a look at 5 Players Man Utd Should Sign! This video is brought to you by Football Index, the place to buy and sell shares in footballers! Great form in 2020 saw Manchester United finish the season in third place, securing Champions League football and putting them in a position to attract some of the World’s best talents. Despite Mason Greenwood’s impressive performances on the right, Man Utd still need strengthening in that position. As much as it’s an eye-watering amount of money, Manchester United should just buy Jadon Sancho. The 20 year old could quite literally lock down the right flank for 10 years and with the attacking numbers he’s put up in Germany, 120 million euros sounds like a bargain. On to left back and the first player is a little bit left field. I’d love to see United sign Burnley left midfielder, Dwight McNeil and convert him to a left back. In the modern game full backs are often a secondary attacking position and in a lot of the top sides, they operate more like wingers and allow the actual wingers to drift centrally. We’ve also seen a lot of wingers extend their careers by becoming full backs. At United we saw the likes of Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young do it to mixed results but on the continent it’s been a lot more effective. I think converting a young attacker to play in that role could see an elite player develop. The alternative is a little more traditional. Alex Telles. The Porto man has been a standout performer in Liga NOS since joining the club. The Brazilian is the quintessential attacking full back. He’s technically sound with a good range. A passing creative wing back in mould of Trent Alexander-Arnold. What’s more is he’s a threat from dead ball situations. His great technique means he delivers with shape and whip, resulting in very dangerous deliveries. And being left footed, he could allow United to send in in-swinging deliveries from both sides of the pitch. The question is whether he can adapt to life in the Premier League, if he could I think he’d be perfect to link up with Marcus Rashford. Harry Maguire’s first season in the red of Manchester saw United go from the 11th best defence in the league to the 3rd best, but Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to be number one. Like with Sancho, I think United shouldn’t beat around the bush and move directly for Dayot Upamecano, but with the Frenchman signing a new deal until 2023, he might not be available right away. A good alternative could be Sevilla’s Diego Carlos. The 27 year old Brazilian has risen to prominence under Julian Lopetegui, using his pace to cover the attacking wing backs and impressive passing range to build out from the back. Another name linked has been Pau Torres, but with just 36 La Liga games at 23, he could be a little inexperienced. A lower risk signing would be Lille’s Gabriel. The 22 year old would reportedly cost around 30 million pounds and would allow funds to be saved for areas that need heavier reinforcement. And finally, defensive midfield. Despite Nemanja Matic’s good form in 2020, he’s no spring chicken and looking for a long term replacement for the Serbian would be smart. And whilst Ole has options at the club in Jimmy Garner or Scott McTominay, it’s unfair to put that burden on a 19 year old and a box-to-box midfielder. Therefore, in my eyes, the perfect replacement would be Declan Rice. The 21 year old has come on in leaps and bounds after just his second season playing in defensive midfield and he looked excellent after the restart, where he operated as the defensive midfielder of the pivot, allowing Thomas Soucek to join the attack. Rice has all the attributes to be a top level defensive midfielder. But as good as he is defensively, I think he’s even better in possession. With the ball he’s extremely calm, especially when he’s inside his own box when a lot of players panic. He really would be perfect for Manchester United in defensive midfield. But anyway guys what do you think? Who should Manchester United sign in the summer transfer window? #ManchesterUnited #JadonSancho #Transfers 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StatmanDave 📸Instagram: http://bit.ly/StatmanInsta 🖥See more at https://statmandave.com ________________________________________________________________________ ► Music Credit: LAKEY INSPIRED Track Name: "Smile" Music By: LAKEY INSPIRED @ https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired Original upload HERE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd4nR... ⚽️ Champions League Live, only on Twitch ▶️https://www.twitch.com/statmandave Today we’re going to be taking a look at My 2019/20 Champions League Predictions. Football was paused halfway through the Round of 16, with four teams already through to the quarter finals and four second legs to be played. Already through are RB Leipzig, who face Atletico Madrid and Atalanta, who face Paris Saint-Germain. Still to play their second legs are Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea. Juventus take on Lyon, with the French side taking a surprise 1-0 lead into the second leg. However, with the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, combined with the fact that Lyon haven’t played competitive football since March, I think the Old Lady will progress to the quarter finals. The third tie yet to be completed is Barcelona vs. Napoli, who come into this on the back of a 1-1 draw, with neither side really finishing their seasons in style. I think like Juve, Barcelona will get found out against tougher opposition but you can’t write off a side with Messi in it so I fancy them to see off Napoli. And finally the most interesting tie of the round, Manchester City vs. Real Madrid. With a 2-1 lead and two away goals as well as the quality in their squad, it’s hard to look past Pep Guardiola’s Man City for this one. I think these quarter finals should be fairly straight forward. Bayern Munich are definitely ones to watch under Hansi Flick and I think they’ll be far too strong for Barcelona who don’t seem to have a tactical plan under Seitan. Whilst Atletico Madrid are possibly the worst team for Leipzig to draw, the ultimate footballing shithouses, Atleti will sit deep and look to exploit the Germans on the counter attack, whilst nullifying their press by going long. I think not only are Man City so much further into their possession project than Juve, but the difference in midfield quality is stark. With the likes of Rodri, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne taking on an ageing Juventus midfield, I expect City to dominate proceedings and then brush Sarri aside. But the tie we’ve yet to mention could provide the biggest shock. I predict Atalanta to knock PSG out of the Champions League. Atalanta’s high-risk, high-reward playing style under Gian Piero Gasperini has seen them win the hearts of football fans across Europe. Despite having the 13th highest wage bill in Serie A, La Dea are the top scorers in the competition for the second season in a row and whilst their gung-ho style can leave them open at the back, they can quite literally outscore any opposition. And I think this will trouble PSG. So the semi-finals, Atalanta vs. Atletico and Man City vs. Bayern Munich. I think this is a step too far for Atalanta. Atalanta score a lot of their goals by encouraging teams to play out from the back before forcing turnovers and then counter attacking. And this is where Simeone’s pragmatism will come into its own. Rather than playing how Atalanta want them to play, Simeone will play the Atleti way. Physical and abrasive football. And with just one leg to frustrate and then exploit their opponents, I think Atletico are well poised to progress to their first final in four years. But the other semi final is the big one - I think whoever wins this game will go on to win the final and lift the trophy. Bayern will look to pin the full backs and remove City’s control in midfield, making them more vulnerable to negative transitions. I predict the 2019/20 Champions League final to be a contest between Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich. I think if this was the Atleti of two or three years ago, then there would be more of a debate but Atleti are in a transition, having lost Antoine Griezmann and Diego Godin in the summer, not to mention Simeone looking to evolve to a more expansive system with wingers rather than wide midfielders. Bayern Munich on the other hand honestly look back to their treble winning best and I predict the Bavarians to lift their sixth Champions League title! But anyway guys what do you think? ► JOIN PATREON: https://bit.ly/StatmanPatreon Today we’re going to be reviewing MY 2019/20 Premier League Predictions! Not a great start, as I didn’t get a single relegation prediction right! I went for Sheffield United, Newcastle and Brighton, yet all of these clubs managed to escape the dropzone, whereas Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City will all be playing Championship football next season. Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is the only midfielder to have played more progressive passes in the Premier League than Sheffield’s Oliver Norwood. I loved that I was wrong about Brighton - they are my favourite team to watch in the Premier League after Man Utd. Under Graham Potter, the Seagulls have gone from being in the bottom three in possession and shots to top eight in both categories. Moving up to the top of the table, I predicted that it would be the usual suspects in 6th-3rd place. I was surprised at how quickly Chelsea adapted to life under former blue Frank Lampard but overall they have been a weaker side in the Premier League and definitely need to work on the defence. If they can add a centre back and goalkeeper they could be very dangerous next year. Arsenal had good, attacking signings but really struggled under Emery and so I believe Arteta is a good appointment and someone to take them forward in the future. Manchester United have massively upgraded this season defensively - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have conceded 18 fewer goals than last season and the January arrival of Bruno Fernades definitely helped to propel the Reds to third. Tottenham continued to struggle in 2019 but Jose Mourinho steadied the ship from the outside, picking up the fourth most points since his arrival. If anyone was going to pip Manchester City to the title, it was going to be Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, but we didn’t expect it to be so convincing. The Reds lost just a single game when the title was officially won, every other team in the league had lost at least six games by this point. Manchester City put up a good fight, and arguably were just unlucky in their outcome, with Guardiola’s side having the best expected goals in the league. Kevin De Bruyne created 136 chances for the Blues, whilst Grealish, the next best player in the League, managed just 91. But anyway guys how did YOUR predictions go? I ended up being out by 66 places which, thanks to the Match Predictor on Twitter, was enough to top the Influencer table for a second year running. ⚽️ DOWNLOAD THE ONEFOOTBALL APP HERE ▶️ http://tinyurl.com/y3dgmgxv Are Rodger’s Leicester City a Hybrid of Guardiola’s Man City & Klopp’s Liverpool? We look at how Brendan Rodgers has improved his Leicester City side through adopting Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’s methods. ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube Leicester City have taken the Premier League top for by storm this season, Brendan Rodgers’ side have been in between Man City and Liverpool in the top three for the majority of the season. When Brendan Rodgers’ took over at the King Power Stadium in February 2019, you could see an instant improvement on Claude Puel’s style. First noticeable change was getting Jamie Vardy back to consistent goal scoring ways, having Youri Tielemans & James Maddison playing as two free eights was key to create for someone like Vardy. This is the first similarity between Leicester City and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City - in midfield having someone like Wilfred Ndidi breaking the lines and finding the attacking fullbacks or creators in midfield, similar to Fernandinho for Man City. Kevin De Bruyne with either of Bernardo Silva or David Silva, Gundogan playing the two free eights. How Brendan Rodgers is Building a Mini-Man City at Leicester City | Tactics Explained ▶️https://youtu.be/G0z76jd9LKU Let’s have a look at how all three sides press. Liverpool press in their 4-3-3, with their front three initiating the press and the shuttlers the supporting cast as Fabinho sweeps up behind. Man City on the other hand press in a 4-2-3-1 using the advanced eight and centre forward to initiate the press with the same side winger helping out. Whilst Leicester press in a 4-3-2-1, using their eight’s to press and rock towards the ball as their wingers and Ndidi sit and sweep. In terms of ball progression into the final third, City progress the ball through their free 8s with De Bruyne and Silva leading the Premier League with successful passes into the final third. Liverpool play a lot wider in their build up with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson playing the most successful passes into the final third for Klopp’s team. Leicester City are a hybrid of both teams having Ricardo Periera and Youri Tielemans completing the most passes into the final third for the Foxes. This is due to their left sided build-up with James Maddison and Ben Chilwell being heavily involved when Leicester are playing out from the back. Before entering the final third on the right hand side. ________________________________________________________________________ ► Music Credit: LAKEY INSPIRED Track Name: "Days Like These" Music By: LAKEY INSPIRED @ https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired Original upload HERE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTGEo...
