My 2019/20 Champions League Predictions…
My 2019/20 Champions League Predictions…

⚽️ Champions League Live, only on Twitch ▶️https://www.twitch.com/statmandave Today we’re going to be taking a look at My 2019/20 Champions League Predictions. Football was paused halfway through the Round of 16, with four teams already through to the quarter finals and four second legs to be played. Already through are RB Leipzig, who face Atletico Madrid and Atalanta, who face Paris Saint-Germain. Still to play their second legs are Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea. Juventus take on Lyon, with the French side taking a surprise 1-0 lead into the second leg. However, with the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, combined with the fact that Lyon haven’t played competitive football since March, I think the Old Lady will progress to the quarter finals. The third tie yet to be completed is Barcelona vs. Napoli, who come into this on the back of a 1-1 draw, with neither side really finishing their seasons in style. I think like Juve, Barcelona will get found out against tougher opposition but you can’t write off a side with Messi in it so I fancy them to see off Napoli. And finally the most interesting tie of the round, Manchester City vs. Real Madrid. With a 2-1 lead and two away goals as well as the quality in their squad, it’s hard to look past Pep Guardiola’s Man City for this one. I think these quarter finals should be fairly straight forward. Bayern Munich are definitely ones to watch under Hansi Flick and I think they’ll be far too strong for Barcelona who don’t seem to have a tactical plan under Seitan. Whilst Atletico Madrid are possibly the worst team for Leipzig to draw, the ultimate footballing shithouses, Atleti will sit deep and look to exploit the Germans on the counter attack, whilst nullifying their press by going long. I think not only are Man City so much further into their possession project than Juve, but the difference in midfield quality is stark. With the likes of Rodri, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne taking on an ageing Juventus midfield, I expect City to dominate proceedings and then brush Sarri aside. But the tie we’ve yet to mention could provide the biggest shock. I predict Atalanta to knock PSG out of the Champions League. Atalanta’s high-risk, high-reward playing style under Gian Piero Gasperini has seen them win the hearts of football fans across Europe. Despite having the 13th highest wage bill in Serie A, La Dea are the top scorers in the competition for the second season in a row and whilst their gung-ho style can leave them open at the back, they can quite literally outscore any opposition. And I think this will trouble PSG. So the semi-finals, Atalanta vs. Atletico and Man City vs. Bayern Munich. I think this is a step too far for Atalanta. Atalanta score a lot of their goals by encouraging teams to play out from the back before forcing turnovers and then counter attacking. And this is where Simeone’s pragmatism will come into its own. Rather than playing how Atalanta want them to play, Simeone will play the Atleti way. Physical and abrasive football. And with just one leg to frustrate and then exploit their opponents, I think Atletico are well poised to progress to their first final in four years. But the other semi final is the big one - I think whoever wins this game will go on to win the final and lift the trophy. Bayern will look to pin the full backs and remove City’s control in midfield, making them more vulnerable to negative transitions. I predict the 2019/20 Champions League final to be a contest between Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich. I think if this was the Atleti of two or three years ago, then there would be more of a debate but Atleti are in a transition, having lost Antoine Griezmann and Diego Godin in the summer, not to mention Simeone looking to evolve to a more expansive system with wingers rather than wide midfielders. Bayern Munich on the other hand honestly look back to their treble winning best and I predict the Bavarians to lift their sixth Champions League title! But anyway guys what do you think? Who do YOU think will win this season’s Champions League? #ChampionsLeague 🐦Twitter: https://twitter.com/StatmanDave 📸Instagram: http://bit.ly/StatmanInsta 🖥See more at https://statmandave.com ________________________________________________________________________ ► Music Credit: LAKEY INSPIRED Track Name: "Better Days" Music By: LAKEY INSPIRED @ https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired Original upload HERE - https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired/... Reacting to MY 2019/20 Premier League Predictions
Reacting to MY 2019/20 Premier League Predictions

► JOIN PATREON: https://bit.ly/StatmanPatreon Today we’re going to be reviewing MY 2019/20 Premier League Predictions! Not a great start, as I didn’t get a single relegation prediction right! I went for Sheffield United, Newcastle and Brighton, yet all of these clubs managed to escape the dropzone, whereas Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City will all be playing Championship football next season. Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is the only midfielder to have played more progressive passes in the Premier League than Sheffield’s Oliver Norwood. I loved that I was wrong about Brighton - they are my favourite team to watch in the Premier League after Man Utd. Under Graham Potter, the Seagulls have gone from being in the bottom three in possession and shots to top eight in both categories. Moving up to the top of the table, I predicted that it would be the usual suspects in 6th-3rd place. I was surprised at how quickly Chelsea adapted to life under former blue Frank Lampard but overall they have been a weaker side in the Premier League and definitely need to work on the defence. If they can add a centre back and goalkeeper they could be very dangerous next year. Arsenal had good, attacking signings but really struggled under Emery and so I believe Arteta is a good appointment and someone to take them forward in the future. Manchester United have massively upgraded this season defensively - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have conceded 18 fewer goals than last season and the January arrival of Bruno Fernades definitely helped to propel the Reds to third. Tottenham continued to struggle in 2019 but Jose Mourinho steadied the ship from the outside, picking up the fourth most points since his arrival. If anyone was going to pip Manchester City to the title, it was going to be Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, but we didn’t expect it to be so convincing. The Reds lost just a single game when the title was officially won, every other team in the league had lost at least six games by this point. Manchester City put up a good fight, and arguably were just unlucky in their outcome, with Guardiola’s side having the best expected goals in the league. Kevin De Bruyne created 136 chances for the Blues, whilst Grealish, the next best player in the League, managed just 91. But anyway guys how did YOUR predictions go? I ended up being out by 66 places which, thanks to the Match Predictor on Twitter, was enough to top the Influencer table for a second year running. ⚽️ DOWNLOAD THE ONEFOOTBALL APP HERE ▶️ http://tinyurl.com/y3dgmgxv Are Rodger’s Leicester City a Hybrid of Guardiola’s Man City & Klopp’s Liverpool? We look at how Brendan Rodgers has improved his Leicester City side through adopting Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’s methods. ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube Leicester City have taken the Premier League top for by storm this season, Brendan Rodgers’ side have been in between Man City and Liverpool in the top three for the majority of the season. When Brendan Rodgers’ took over at the King Power Stadium in February 2019, you could see an instant improvement on Claude Puel’s style. First noticeable change was getting Jamie Vardy back to consistent goal scoring ways, having Youri Tielemans & James Maddison playing as two free eights was key to create for someone like Vardy. This is the first similarity between Leicester City and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City - in midfield having someone like Wilfred Ndidi breaking the lines and finding the attacking fullbacks or creators in midfield, similar to Fernandinho for Man City. Kevin De Bruyne with either of Bernardo Silva or David Silva, Gundogan playing the two free eights. How Brendan Rodgers is Building a Mini-Man City at Leicester City | Tactics Explained ▶️https://youtu.be/G0z76jd9LKU Let’s have a look at how all three sides press. Liverpool press in their 4-3-3, with their front three initiating the press and the shuttlers the supporting cast as Fabinho sweeps up behind. Man City on the other hand press in a 4-2-3-1 using the advanced eight and centre forward to initiate the press with the same side winger helping out. Whilst Leicester press in a 4-3-2-1, using their eight’s to press and rock towards the ball as their wingers and Ndidi sit and sweep. In terms of ball progression into the final third, City progress the ball through their free 8s with De Bruyne and Silva leading the Premier League with successful passes into the final third. Liverpool play a lot wider in their build up with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson playing the most successful passes into the final third for Klopp’s team. Leicester City are a hybrid of both teams having Ricardo Periera and Youri Tielemans completing the most passes into the final third for the Foxes. This is due to their left sided build-up with James Maddison and Ben Chilwell being heavily involved when Leicester are playing out from the back. Before entering the final third on the right hand side. ________________________________________________________________________ ► Music Credit: LAKEY INSPIRED Track Name: "Days Like These" Music By: LAKEY INSPIRED @ https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired Original upload HERE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTGEo... Dalot Has To Start For Manchester United!!!
Dalot Has To Start For Manchester United!!!

Manchester United drew 1-1 with Wolverhampton Wanderers showing why Diogo Dalot has to start for Manchester United at right back for the rest of the season. Jose Mourinho must drop Antonio Valencia for Diogo Dalot to give Man Utd better quality in the final third on the right wing. Fred opened up the scoring at Old Trafford with his first goal of his United career. Manchester United had built up an attack down the left wing with Luke Shaw combining with Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean then crossed, Wolves cleared the ball to the edge of the box. Paul Pogba with his first touch on the loss ball played Fred in between the lines and the former Shakhtar Donetsk man fired a low shot from outside of the box into the bottom left corner. United dominated the rest of the first half with Fred controlling the tempo at the base of midfield. Mourinho’s men started the second half in a similar vein with Pogba and Fred dictating the play. Wolves then grabbed an equaliser against the run of play. Ruben Neves caught Pogba on the ball then Wolves broke down the right with Helder Costa dribbling past Shaw and cutting the ball back from the byline. Raul Jimenez controlled the low cross and laid it off to Joao Moutinho who finished high into the top left corner with De Gea unable to pull off another wonder save, Wolves were level. Man United wasted possession in search of the equaliser and could have used Dalot ability to take a man on in the final third and cross. This season surprise package in the Premier League, Watford, were in action against Fulham in Saturday’s early kickoff. Under Javi Gracia, Watford have started the season on fire and are currently 4th in the Premier League already beaten Tottenham this season. Watford have set up in a 4-2-2-2 system this season which has got the best out of Andre Gray and Troy Deeney upfront as well as Will Hughes and Roberto Pereyra in midfield. Gray opened up the scoring at Craven Cottage after combining with Hughes following a Jose Hobelas long throw. The Hornets dominated proceedings with excellent pressing and solid defensive work. But Fulham hit back after Vietto’s low cross was turned in by Mitrovic to make it 1-1. Javi Gracia is likely to be the more frustrated of the managers after Will Hughes should have won a penalty in the first half. Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is likely to be happy with the point after a poor first half. ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube Liverpool moved to top of the Premier League as they beat Southampton 3-0. Klopp started four attackers against the South coast club with Mane, Shaqiri and Firmino playing behind Egyptian talisman Mo Salah. It wasn’t long until the four got going as Wesley Hoedt turned in a Shaqiri cross resulting in his first own goal for the club. Salah then combined with Firmino with a neat 1-2 resulting in Salah barring down on goal, Cedric made a fine last ditch tackle. But this didn’t stop Liverpool as Matip scored from the resulting corner. Mo Salah made it 3-0 before half-time poking in a Shaqiri free kick. The result along with Chelsea drawing with West Ham puts Jurgen Klopp’s men top of the table after six games. ► CHECK OUT MY PATREON PAGE: http://bit.ly/SDPatreon Can Dalot make the difference at right back for Manchester United? Pogba’s New Role? Why Mourinho Needs To Play a Back 3 v Wolves | Predicted XI, Formation and Tactics
Pogba’s New Role? Why Mourinho Needs To Play a Back 3 v Wolves | Predicted XI, Formation and Tactics

Paul Pogba’s new role will fire Manchester United back into the Premier League title race vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jose Mourinho must also go with a back three to counteract Wolves’ 3-4-3. ► SUBSCRIBE to STATMAN DAVE: http://bit.ly/StatmanDaveYoutube After defeats against Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur, Mourinho has made a slight tweak in midfield giving Paul Pogba greater freedom to attack. The Frenchman has been on fire in the last two games against Watford and Young Boys Bern. Pogba stole the show in Switzerland scoring two goals and grabbing an assist. The Manchester United central midfielder’s first goal against Young Boys was sensational, Pogba faked to shoot on his stronger right foot before rolling the ball to his left and smashing it into the top corner. Mourinho has started to turn United’s season around after wins at Burnley, Watford and Young Boys. The Portuguese tacticians use of Marouane Fellaini in the Premier League games as a midfield stopper to deal with aerial balls has been a masterclass. Manchester United should use a back three for the game against Wolves and play a midfield without Fellaini. Pogba should be partnered with Brazilians Fred and Andreas Pereira to add a dynamic element to the midfield to allow pressing in Wolves’ half. Lukaku and Sanchez will be the key to unlocking Nuno Espírito’s 3-4-3. The Belgian and Chilean are starting to really gain an understanding of each others game. Mourinho must go for a 3-5-2 to get the pair closer together. This will bring goals for Manchester United. ► CHECK OUT MY PATREON PAGE: http://bit.ly/SDPatreon Wolverhampton Wanderers have impressed this season in the Premier League with their attacking, possession-based 3-4-3. Nuno Espírito Santo has got the plaudits for their attractive style, getting the best out of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez. Wolves currently sit 9th in the Premier League and are the only team this season to have taken points off Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Nuno Espírito out of the back through Willy Body then Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho in midfield. They then look to switch the ball to a wingback high up the pitch (Jonny on the left and Doherty on the right) supported by an inside forward and attack down the flanks. Helder Costa has featured on the right wing this season, but with the signing of Adama Troare and the return to fitness of Ivan Cavaleiro could mean Costa could lose his place vs. Man Utd.
