Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights Game 2 Preview
The Minnesota Wild and the Vegas Golden Knights will face off in Game 2 of the first round Tuesday at 7pm at the T-Mobile Arena. The Wild defeated Vegas in Game 1 1-0 in overtime. Both Cam Talbot and Marc- Andre Fleury were solid in Game 1. Talbot recorded 42 saves on 42 shots, and Fleury saved 29-30 shots. In injury news for the Vegas Golden Knights. Max Pacioretty is day-to-day according to Coach DeBoer. The medical staff will see if he can play in game 2. DeBoer also described that Vegas needs to get depth scoring and the Knights need to be dangerous throughout the lineup. Also, it should be interesting to see who DeBoer starts in goal. The Golden Knights will take on the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center tonight. Vegas is 2-0-0 against the Kings this season, but this will be the first meeting of 2021 at the Staples Center. Vegas is in first place in the west division with 41 points, and the Kings are only 3 points back of the St. Louis Blues of the fourth playoff spot. There are some key injuries for both teams. For Los Angeles, Anderson-Dolan and Dustin Brown are both injured with upper-body injuries. Alex Pietrangelo is out until the end of the month for the VGK, and Chandler Stephenson and Alex Tuch are both day-to-day. San Jose Sharks vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview (March 17, 2021)
The San Jose Sharks will take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the second game of a two-game series at T-Mobile Arena. The Knights defeated the Sharks on Monday 2-1, due to a strong effort from Marc Andre Fleury. Devan Dubnyk had a strong effort against Vegas saving 34/36 shots. There are some injury news and updates for the Golden Knights as well. Robin Lehner and William Carrier have been removed from the IR, according to the official NHL media site. Cody Glass and Nic Hague have been removed from the roster, as well as the taxi squad. San Jose Sharks vs. Vegas Golden Knights Review (March 15, 2021)
The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in the first game of the team's two-game series. Marc Andre-Fleury and Devan Dubnyk started in goal for their two teams. Both goaltenders played well enough to give their teams a chance to win, and the Golden Knights took advantage of their opportunities. Max Pacioretty scored on a Vegas powerplay halfway through the first period, and while the Sharks were controlling the play, the Knights found themselves leading after one. In the second period, the Golden Knights put their feet on the gas, outshooting the Sharks 16-4 in the second frame. Then, early in the third period, Mark Stone scored from Pacioretty to increase the Golden Knight lead to 2. San Jose did pressure though and cut the deficit in half with less than 6 minutes remaining after a Meier goal. In the last two minutes, there were a couple of close calls, but the Golden Knights held on. Vegas is four points ahead of second place in the West division, and while his team lost tonight, Devan Dubnyk played great. These two teams will face off against one another again on Wednesday. Arizona Coyotes vs Vegas Golden Knights Review
The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-2 at T-Mobile Arena on Monday night. This was the first game of a 4 game series between these two teams. Robin Lehner saved 31-33 shots faced, and Kuemper saved 24-27. Vegas was down 2-0 with 4 minutes left in the second period, but after Max Pacioretty's goal, the Knights took the momentum and ran with it. They scored two more goals in the first 8 minutes of the third period and added an empty netter with 12 seconds remaining. Vegas improves to 3-0-0 on the season, while Arizona falls to 1-1-1. New Mexico Lobos vs UNLV Runnin’ Rebels Review
The UNLV Runnin' Rebels defeated the New Mexico Lobos 53-46 in a sloppy game between these two rivals. Bryce Hamilton led all scorers with 14 points, and Mbacke Diong added 6 points and 10 rebounds. New Mexico received 12 points from Singleton, 10 from Manuel, and 9 points from Maluach. The Rebels improve to 4-6 on the season and 2-2 in Mountain West conference play. The Lobos fall to 4-8 on the season and 0-8 in conference play.
