Oxford United 4-0 Burton Albion - Oxford finish in the playoffs! 💛💙💛💙
An amazing climax to the League One Season as Oxford took on Burton Albion. It was a fantastic win for OUFC as it means they finish the season in the playoffs. Join Ian & Thomas from Very Biased Opinions as they review It seemed like such a long shot at the start of the day. Oxford needed to win and hope that Portsmouth slipped up at home to Accrington. But the impossible became possible and that is exactly what happened. Oxford had to beat a tough Burton side, and the U's made light work of the brewers scoring 4 times with, and quite remarkably Portsmouth lost 1-0. A wonderful team goal finished off by Shodipo started the yellows on their way. Then Burton gave Oxford a helping hand for goas 2 and 3. A poor back header left Taylor with an easy finish, and then poor goal keeping saw Elliott Lee's free kick find a way in. A phenomenal Sam Winnall volley rounded off a perfect day. So, Oxford have done it, winning 6 of the last 7 games and now face Blackpool in the playoffs. That will be tough, but for today all Oxford fans can celebrate and be proud of their team. For the third season in a row Oxford beat Shrewsbury 3-2 on their own patch. OUFC had a mountain to climb and for a large part of this afternoon it felt like season over, but goals from James Henry and Dan Agyei turned defeat into victory and means the playoff dream is alive. Portsmouth, Charlton and Blackpool are in fight with Oxford Utd. The yellows have to beat Burton Albion on the final day if they are to have any chance. League One Predictions Round 44 - Oxford Enter Must Win Territory
A Lot of clubs have hit that point of the season where it is simply MUST WIN Territory. There is still so much to play for so join Ian & Thomas as they predict their way through League One Round 44 Oxford United took a hammer blow against AFC Wimbledon and if they have any chance of getting in the playoffs then they really need to win the final 3 games of their season. It starts with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday. They are trying to hunt down Charlton to are probably in League One's game of the weekend as they face 2nd place Peterborough who themselves are looking to bounce back from defeat against Gillingham. Oxford will be hoping for a Posh win. Another side who are pretty much in MUST WIN territory are Portsmouth. The season has really gone south at the wrong side. A win for Pompey would relegate Bristol Rovers from League One. They have been so poor this season, 3 managers but it looks like Barton is the worst of the bunch. Unfortunately, they seem doomed. The form of Wigan & AFC Wimbledon means that the bottom 4 now (Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Northampton & Rochdale) might be how it finishes come the end of the season. With Lincoln vs Hull & Sunderland vs Accrington too, we are surely in for more twists and turns as we enter the home straight of Sky Bet League One. AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Oxford United - Season Feels Over Now
Ian feels a little sad and understandably so. The playoff dream seems over for Oxford United tonight. Here his thoughts on the game where they lost 2-1 to Wimbledon Results were going Oxford's way and they were 1-0 up against the Don's but a few mad minutes saw James Henry sent off for hand ball on the line, Joe Pigott equalised. And to make matters worse Wimbledon scored again 2 minutes afterwards. It kicked the stuffing out of United and it feels like even if they win all 3 of the remaining games they will still miss out on the playoffs. Josh Ruffles put OUFC ahead in the 2nd half and it felt like a 4th win on the trot. It wasn't to be though and fair play to Wimbledon who played well themselves. Crewe Alexandra 0-6 Oxford United | Review | Where Did That Come From? 💛💙💛💙🔥
Very Biased Opinions give their reviews of Crewe Alexandra vs Oxford United. It was an afternoon where the Yellows hit Crewe for 6. Where did it come from? What the hell happened........ Where did this result come from? The craziness of League One was in full force this afternoon, a seemingly even game after 30 minutes exploded in favour of OUFC and ir rained goals for them. it finished Crewe Alexandra 0-6 Oxford United. Crewe fans can be forgiven for being a bit shell shocked after this one. Nobody saw this coming. A remarkable performance and an incredible result for Oxford Utd. It started with a Josh Ruffles header, before Henry & Moore made it 3-0 at the break. Then it was the Brandon Barker show just after the restart with a fine individual goal. Brannagan even got on the score sheet even though he did his best not to after rebounding in his missed penalty. Are rare goal for Winnal made it 6-0. Shades of Lincoln away last season, this is probably not a fair reflection of Crewe Alex who defeated Oxford quite easily earlier on in the season. Where does this leave the yellows?? who knows, but it gives us a crumb of hope but realistically they need to win nearly every game from here.
