Oxford United 0-0 Rotherham United | Review | Proud Of OUFC
Welcome to another Very Biased Opinions review of an Oxford United game. Today a draw felt like a defeat as it ended Oxford United 0-0 Rotherham United. After a really tough week with so many players out this game felt like a bit of a free hit. Oxford Utd's threadbare side got a good victory against Fleetwood, but against League One leaders Rotherham it seemed like it would only end in defeat for the yellows. It was an extremely intense game, which the Millers will be wondering how they did not win. Smith & Ladapo both hit the woodwork and OUFC had to withstand wave after wave of attacks. Luck, and a lot of hard defensive work lead by Luke McNally and Jamie Hanson saw Oxford get a point which most people would have taken before the game. I think even the most critical of Oxford Utd fans should be proud of OUFC today, it shows we can compete with the best in the league and with players back we go into next weekend’s Sky Bet League One game with Sunderland full of confidence. Karl Robinson and the players deserve a lot of credit for taking 4 points from these 2 games. It's another round of League One predictions with Ian & Thomas from Very Biased Opinions. It's Game week 13 and all 24 clubs are in action and predict all 12 games. We start this weeks predictions with the leaders coming to OUFC. That’s right it's Oxford United vs Plymouth Argyle. The Pilgrims climbed to the summit last weekend and have been doing amazingly well under Ryan Lowe, but Oxford Utd are on a high after their win against Sheffield Wednesday last time out. Oxford are unbeaten at home and the Pilgrims are going to pack the away end. It should be a corker. Another high scoring game should be Bolton vs Wigan. Could be a classic Lancashire derby. CRISIS at Sunderland!!!! Last time out they lost 4-0 then ran scared of Oxford United and pretended they had international players. Its another trip down south as they go to Gillingham. Surely it can’t be as bad as last time. Portsmouth were the slayers of Sunderland and they face a tough trip to New York to face Rotherham. There are no easy games in League One. Wycombe Wanderers are laying a marker down and doing a fine of job of trying to reclaim their Championship status. VBO sees an easy win for them over a rubbish Doncaster side. Blackpool 3-3 Oxford United | Review | Cracking Game, But Not Enough For OUFC
Well its over. Oxford are eliminated from the League One Playoffs. Join Ian from Very Biased Opinions for the final Oxford United review of the season away at Blackpool Oxford needed to overturn a 3 goal deficit from the Playoffs 1st Leg, and they did manage to get 3 goals, but ultimately could not stop Blackpool FC from doing the same. It finished Blackpool 3-3 Oxford United. A perfect start by Oxford Utd as Matty Taylor gave the yellows the leas after 7 minutes. But Oxford just can't keep the Seasiders quiet. Embleton curled in a beauty and they Dougall scored from a corner, and after a dream start, 5 minutes later we were in a worse position than where we started. In the 2nd Half again Oxford got a early goal through Atkinson, only for the Tangerines to take the lead again 3 minutes later from Yates. League One Predictions | PLAYOFF SEMI-FINAL 2ND LEG | Sunderland vs Lincoln | Blackpool vs Oxford
Ian & Thomas from Very Biased Opinions give their thoughts on and Predictions for both games in the League One Playoff Semi-Final 2nd Leg 2 clubs are in need of a miracle in the 2nd leg of their playoff ties. One of them is Ian's beloved Oxford United and the other is Sunderland. The Black Cats were really quite poor in their game against Lincoln and only produced a few decent efforts on goal. Lincoln didn't have to work that hard to beat them and were gifted a couple of goals especially the 2nd one where goalkeeper Burge gifted a tap in. Sunderland AFC will be hoping that a passionate crowd at the Stadium of Light can swing the balance, but fair play to Lincoln City. Michael Appleton's side are so well drilled and are just a tough side to play against. Emergency goalkeeper Burski was fantastic, but Johnson, Bridcutt and Scully were also really good. The imps certainly feel like they have 1 foot in the final. Blackpool on the other hand pretty much have both feet already at Wembley. The demolished Oxford Utd and stormed to a 3-0 win. Ellis Simms bagging 2 goals in a clinical display where they prayed on Oxford's frailties at the back and relied on the amazing defence that they have. Oxford had their moments in a pretty entertaining games, but their inability to take their chances means that they are all but out before a ball is kicked a Bloomfield Road. Brandon Barker was immense, but OUFC have been poor against the top clubs in League One this season. But Ian want's a miracle so I am sure he will be backing an Oxford win.
