Casey knew he could help Texas in the game against Arkansas and he told the media he was struggling to sit and wait, but he knew the opportunity was going to come. Casey also told the media that he never felt like he lost the job: "Everybody keeps saying I lost the job, I didn't lose the job, it just went into a different direction." Texas Longhorns defense gave up 333 yards rushing on 47 carries to the Razorbacks, which is 7 yards per carry and 4 touchdowns. The Texas defense played extremely well under new defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski. While they gave up a few big plays on the ground to the Ragin' Cajuns, it's difficult in modern college football to hold a team under 20 points, which is exactly what the Texas Longhorns defense was able to do. DeMarvion Overshown was all over the field on Saturday against Louisiana. Overshown had 13 tackles and 0.5 sack vs. Ragin' Cajuns. Overshown told Serenity Douglas of Orangebloods.com that there has been a lot of talk throughout fall camp about hte Texas defense, but it was finally great to show people the potential of this defense based on how they played vs. Louisiana.
