Thompson has not started a game at QB since November of 2017. Casey will be making his first start as the QB at the University of Texas against Rice on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Darrell K. Royal (DKR) Texas Memorial Stadium. Anwar shared some insights into the Casey Thompson press conference on Tuesday, including Casey sharing his frustrations watching the Longhorns offense struggle against Arkansas. Casey knew he could help Texas in the game against Arkansas and he told the media he was struggling to sit and wait, but he knew the opportunity was going to come. Casey also told the media that he never felt like he lost the job: "Everybody keeps saying I lost the job, I didn't lose the job, it just went into a different direction." Anwar and Ketch also discuss whether or not Sark waited too long to replace Card with Casey Thompson in the game against Arkansas. To the media, Casey Thompson said he's been watching movies over the last few weeks while he's been waiting his turn to start. He mentioned that he likes movies that make him think and he said specifically Leonardo DiCaprio movies, including Inception. What does the QB situation look like at Texas moving forward?
