Los Angeles Dodgers vs Giants LIVE 🔴 | Mookie Betts Is Back | Play-By-Play 2026
The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated shortstop Mookie Betts and have him in the lineup for their series opener against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers have struggled for offense over the past several weeks, and will hope Betts can provide a boost to their lineup amid their team-wide slump. LA scored three runs or fewer in each of their three games against the Atlanta Braves in their last series, and only won one of them. Roki Sasaki will take the mound for the Dodgers, and the right-hander is surely ready to go after getting some extra rest. The Dodgers listed Sasaki as their probable pitcher for Saturday’s game, but moved him to a Monday start and gave Blake Snell the start instead after his return from the injured list. The rest will hopefully do Sasaki well, as he has struggled through his first handful of starts in 2026. He has a 5.97 ERA after six appearances, striking out 26 batters in 28.2 innings pitched. He has been strong through the first couple of innings of his starts, but tends to run into trouble during his second time through the order. Only one of his 19 earned runs this season has come in the first two innings of a ballgame. Shohei Ohtani will lead off for the Dodgers as their designated hitter and look to break out of the slump he’s been riding, and Betts will bat second in his return to the lineup. First baseman Freddie Freeman makes room for Betts and moves down to the three hole, while right fielder Kyle Tucker bats in the cleanup spot. Catcher Will Smith drops down the lineup to fifth with Betts back in the lineup, and third baseman Max Muncy will bat sixth. Center fielder Andy Pages bats seventh for the Dodgers, followed by left fielder Teoscar Hernandez and second baseman Hyseong Kim. 1. Shohei Ohtani, DH 2. Mookie Betts, SS 3. Freddie Freeman, 1B 4. Roki Sasaki, RHP Right-hander Trevor McDonald will start for the Giants, making his second start of the season for San Francisco. He began the season in the minors for the Giants, but came up May 4 for a start against the San Diego Padres, where he threw seven innings of one-run baseball and allowed just two hits. The 25-year-old ranks as their No. 16 prospect, and will look to further solidify himself in their rotation. The first game of the three-game series begins Monday at 7:10 p.m. PT. Ajay Mitchell had career playoff highs of 24 points and 10 assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their unbeaten playoff run to the brink of another Western Conference finals with a 131-108 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 of the second round on Saturday night. Game 3 was remarkably similar to Game 2 in many respects: The Lakers again had to fight desperately just to keep up with the champs into the third quarter, only for the Thunder to run away with their usual merciless efficiency when LA finally faltered. Chet Holmgren had 18 points and nine rebounds for Oklahoma City, which outscored the Lakers 33-20 in the third quarter and wasn't threatened at all down the stretch. “I think (the first half) wasn't our best half, and in the locker room we just talked about it and knew that we had to adjust and be better,” said Mitchell, who continued his postseason emergence by scoring at least 14 points for the sixth consecutive game. “I think we did a great job coming out of the half.” “These obviously haven't been my best performances,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “But I think I've been able to help the team win, and that's most important. If the rest of the playoff run or the rest of my career looked like what it looked like the past few games, I'd be OK with it, because we won games.” “They're an incredible basketball team,” Lakers coach JJ Redick said. “Third straight game we're right there after 2 1/2 quarters. We tried different lineups, different coverages. Still lost those minutes. Again, we've got to be better, but I'm not giving up on the series. We're going to go try to win on Monday. We're going to try to extend the series.” Oklahoma City erased that lead with a methodical surge out of halftime, going up by 13 in the third quarter.
