Avalanche Get a Little Help From Replay And Win Their 40th Game of the Season, 5-3 Over Islanders
The Colorado Avalanche once again had to play the comeback role. This time against the New York Islanders. The Avs and Isles have not met since 2020, but there was no getting to know you period. Both teams were on their game, and the Islanders gave the Avalanche everything they had and then some. Even taking a lead into the 3rd period, and even potentially taking a late lead after the Avs tied it up early in the 3rd. But replay showed the puck did not completely cross the line and the goal was reversed. About a minute later, Andre Burakovsky found the net for his 3rd goal in as many games and the Avs would take their 40th win of the season. 5-3 on Jack Johnson's 1000th game.
