Bengaluru FC made it three wins on the spin to move to the third spot, riding a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Indian Super League at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim here on Saturday. Daniel Chima Chukwu had given Jamshedpur the lead inside the first minute but Bengaluru made a roaring comeback in the second half, Cleiton Silva (62nd, 90th) scoring twice on either side of Sunil Chhetri's equaliser in the 55th minute. Chhetri scored his 49th goal, equalling Hyderabad FC's Bart Ogbeche who became the all-time highest scorer of the Hero ISL the other day with 49 strikes as Bengaluru stretched their unbeaten run to eight games. Bengaluru now have 23 points from 15 games, same as Kerala Blasters who are second due to better goal difference. Jamshedpur dropped to fourth with the loss with 22 points from 13 matches. Jamshedpur were in the ascendancy in the very first minute of the game, Chima getting on the scoresheet for the second consecutive game since joining the Men of Steel. Alexandre Lima carried the ball through the heart of the pitch and passed to Borish Singh who lay it up for Chima who got in between Alan Costa and Roshan Naorem to first trap the ball and then fire it into the roof of the net. Pegged back so early on, Bengaluru tried hard to equalise but Jamshedpur, missing the services of skipper Peter Hartley due to suspension, sat back and defended well as a unit. The Blues' best chance of the half fell to Chhetri who could not turn in a brilliant Roshan corner despite having to head into an empty net after keeper T.P. Rehenesh committed early. The skipper dragged his header wide and had his hand on his head as his team went into the break trailing by that solitary goal. The Marco Pezzaiuoli-coached team came out all guns blazing in the second period and Chhetri atoned for his miss just before halftime to fire home from inside the box after a long throw from Parag Shrivas saw the ball come off Bruno Ramires' legs and into the path of the veteran marksman. In the next seven minutes, Bengaluru doubled their lead. The hard-working Naorem swung in a superb corner for Silva to nod in past an outstretched Jitendra Singh and into the back of the net. Bengaluru were all over Jamshedpur after taking the lead, Silva and Chhetri combining to almost set Udanta Singh in the clear only for Ricky Lallawmawma to intercept. Silva doubled his tally in injury time, making the most of Narender Gahlot's botched clearance from a throw-in to beat a defender and fire into the far post from a tight angle. Jamshedpur had their chances but Chukwu and Stewart were denied from the goal line as it was Bengaluru's day in office. #HeroISL #LetsFootball #IndianSuperLeague 🔊 LIKE ➡ SHARE ➡ SUBSCRIBE For More Updates: English: https://newsable.asianetnews.com/ Hindi: https://hindi.asianetnews.com/ Malayalam: https://www.asianetnews.com/ Kannada: https://kannada.asianetnews.com/ Tamil: https://tamil.asianetnews.com/ Telugu: https://telugu.asianetnews.com/ Bengali: https://bangla.asianetnews.com/ Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AsianetNewsa... Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry made NBA history on the league’s grandest stage Tuesday night. Curry broke the league record for most career 3-pointers in the first quarter of the Warriors’ game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The shot gave Curry 2,974 successful 3-pointers as a professional, eclipsing the previous mark set by Hall of Fame marksman Ray Allen. Curry reached the mark much faster than Allen did. Allen played in 1,300 career NBA games. Curry set a new record in his 789th career game. Allen has held the record since Feb. 10, 2011, when he passed former Indiana Pacers star Reggie Miller as a member of the Boston Celtics.

England maintained their winning start to the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a comfortable victory over Albania in Tirana. Albania provided more of a challenge than hapless San Marino in England's opening 5-0 win at Wembley but once they had survived an early scare when Myrto Uzuni missed a great chance for the side ranked 66th in the world, this was routine for Gareth Southgate's side. England captain Harry Kane lifted the mediocrity of an attritional first half on a slow surface when he scored his 33rd goal for his country, a superbly guided diving header from Luke Shaw's cross seven minutes before the interval. This set the platform for a more positive second-half display, Mason Mount adding a composed second in the 63rd minute after sustained England pressure saw Phil Foden's effort turned on to the post by Albania keeper Etrit Berisha and Kane lifting a close-range shot over the top. England stretched their unbeaten run in World Cup qualifiers to 23 games but now face their sternest test so far in this campaign as Poland and their master marksman Robert Lewandowski come to Wembley on Wednesday (19:45 BST). Reaction from Tirana as England beat Albania 'Now Tuchel picks him everyone will agree' - how 'exceptional' Mount is proving critics wrong Listen to the latest Football Daily podcast Kane's class lifts England Kane had been going through something of a drought by his own standards. His previous England goal came 500 days ago, in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo, and his header in Tirana ended a run of 496 minutes without scoring. Kane's class, however, remains permanent so it was no surprise that he was the man to break the deadlock after England had struggled to break down a resilient Albania defence, the beneficiary of a superb left-flank delivery from Shaw. It was also a good moment for the recalled Shaw, whose impressive recent form for Manchester United merited his inclusion. Southgate may well have his ideal Euro 2020 starting line-up fixed in his mind but Shaw, who has assisted goals in his last three England starts, is emerging as a genuine rival to Chelsea's Ben Chilwell. Mount's cool finish from Kane's pass after Raheem Sterling intercepted Berat Djimsiti's pass was another illustration of his growing stature and Chelsea's rising star must surely be a certain starter when England open their Euro 2020 finals campaign against Croatia at Wembley on 13 June. England had the odd anxious moment in defence, especially when Uzuni blazed over with only keeper Nick Pope to beat and the scoreline goalless, but they were largely untroubled. The more accurate measure of where England's current rate of progress stands will come when they face the world-class talent of Bayern Munich's Lewandowski. Southgate's formation taking shape Southgate's decision to select two defensively-minded midfield men once more in Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips was another strong indicator that this will be his preferred formation at the Euros this summer. It is a game plan which has looked stodgy on occasions, particularly in two Uefa Nations League games against Denmark, a goalless draw in Copenhagen and a defeat at Wembley, and leaves Southgate open to accusations of over-caution. Southgate's single-minded approach means he will not worry about outside noise if he is convinced this is the right way to go. The proof, as ever, will come with results before and during the summer's delayed Euro 2020 showpiece. One factor in Southgate's plans will be the fitness of Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. He is recovering following groin surgery and while Liverpool are hopeful he will return before the end of the season, this is by no means guaranteed. If he is fit, it would appear he will start alongside Rice in that opener against Croatia. Phillips was pushed forward into a more advanced position in the second half but this now seems to be emerging as Southgate's favoured strategy. The debate continues around England's goalkeeping position with Everton's Jordan Pickford out injured but he has been Southgate's favoured keeper for some time so it still seems to be his position to lose if he is fit. Southgate will have learned little about Burnley keeper Nick Pope other than what he already knows and what he has seen in England's training camp because he has had nothing to do against either San Marino or Albania. He may have more to do when Lewandowski gets him in his sights at Wembley. This England performance, ultimately, was efficient as opposed to spectacular but Southgate can be satisfied with six points, although anything less would have prompted serious questions. This can be filed under "job done" and now it is on to Poland on Wednesday. #uk #news #AlbaniavsEngland #englandvsalbania #worldcupqualifiers #Albania #HarryKane #MasonMount #LukeShaw #englandalbania #ashleycole #uksportsnews #england #footballenglandalbania2021

✅ Subscribe ©Titans Volleyball LIFE ➤ https://goo-gl.me/bxJU1 ===================================================== | Goiania, Brazil, June 3, 2018 - Isac Santos smashed home a dramatic match winning ace as Brazil sensationally came from two sets down to send the USA crashing to their first VNL defeat and seal an epic 3-2 triumph (21-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20, 20-18). Wallace was again the leading marksman for the Olympic champions, whacking down 18 spikes, two blocks and an ace to help the Brazilians leapfrog their rivals and move into joint-top place alongside Poland. Mauricio Silva was also a constant threat with 13 spikes, five blocks and two aces but the Americans will be wondering long into the night how they let this one slip having established such a dominant lead. Matthew Anderson’s 23 points (22 spikes and an ace) together with sterling efforts from Aaron Russell (16 points) and Thomas Jaeschke (18 points) were the foundations of a typically robust US display, though 40 errors from their side of the net ultimately cost them dear as did having to endure two long, emotional five set matches following their thrilling escape against Japan on Friday. With news filtering through of Poland’s surprise defeat to Germany, the US knew a straight-sets triumph would be enough to send John Speraw’s team to the top of the VNL heading into the third week of competition. Yet when the two best sides on the planet lock horns, it’s never straightforward. The US certainly deserved their two set lead - Anderson was spiking with serious force while Jeffrey Jendryk was a constant in defense. A packed home crowd certainly loved the opening exchanges although tensions boiled over at 21-19 in the first. A disputed call by the Brazilians was unable to be contested as all the video challenges had been used. Cue a furious row between Lipe, Wallace - Brazil’s most potent threat once again - and referee Luis Gerardo Macias which resulted in the former receiving a yellow card. Replays showed the call was indeed correct yet the Olympic champions were still furious. There was more arguing at 24-12 - this time Macias was unsure himself and used the technology but the point went to the US as did the first set. Coach Sperow urged his side - for whom Anderson had already racked up five spikes and an ace - to target Lipe who was struggling to keep his cool in the red hot heat of battle. The US , however, just blocked everything out and continued to forge ahead. Wing spiker Thomas Joeschke was getting in on the act, a fearsome spike extended his side’s lead to 15-10 and although Isac was blocking well, Brazil were unable to stop their rivals from doubling their lead. Ironically it was a Lipe error when he got in Isac’s way which sealed the second set. Brazil had to improve or risk sliding to their second defeat of the VNL - and so it proved. The excellent and consistent Wallace - two scorching spikes conjured up two set points which were saved before another hammer finish was sent long by the American defense - was the inspiration but Lipe’s ability to regain his composure was also key. You could just feel the momentum swinging towards the men in yellow and although the match was very much in the balance at 9-9, once Brazil started to extend their lead thanks to some impressive team cohesion, we were all treated to a box office fifth and decisive set. At 7-4 , Renan Dal Zotto’s side were looking like favorites to win this epic contest. A huge Anderson block brought it back to 8-6 and that reignited Speraw’s men to edge ahead 11-10 with captain David Smith also bringing his defensive skills to the table. Patch served hopelessly long at match point and then Jaeschke hit the net. Three match points were saved by Brazil in a breathless ending before a magical stuff block from Wallace gave the home team their first chance to win the match - only for Anderson to save the day once again. Another match point went begging for Brazil but then Isac sent the Goiania Arena crazy with that final ace.
