Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry made NBA history on the league’s grandest stage Tuesday night. Curry broke the league record for most career 3-pointers in the first quarter of the Warriors’ game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The shot gave Curry 2,974 successful 3-pointers as a professional, eclipsing the previous mark set by Hall of Fame marksman Ray Allen. Curry reached the mark much faster than Allen did. Allen played in 1,300 career NBA games. Curry set a new record in his 789th career game. Allen has held the record since Feb. 10, 2011, when he passed former Indiana Pacers star Reggie Miller as a member of the Boston Celtics.
