#sceastbengal #atkmohunbagan #heroisl2020-21 We analyzed how ATK Mohun Bagan beat SC East Bengal in the first-ever Kolkata derby in Indian Super League. Two more than 100 years old football giants locked their horns first time in the Indian Super League. After 90 minutes of tough competition, Antonio Habas's ATK Mohun Bagan beats 2-0 Robbie Fowler's East Bengal. Both Roy Krishna and Manvir Singh scores one goal each. So, what tactics Antonio Habas and Robbie Fowler used? Let's take a look. ATK Mohun Bagan was lined up in their typical 3/5/2 formation. On the other hand, East Bengal on paper lined up in 4 2 3 1 formation but on the field, they're also lined up in 3/5/2 formation. Let's start with what East Bengal did with 59% of possession. East Bengal was happy to go long, as they have a strong and tall forward in Jacques Maghoma, as Debjit made 12 long balls, out of which seven were successful. Although, when center-backs had a ball, ATK MB sit backs in the mid-block for the first phase of build-up. In the middle of the pitch, Roy Krishna and David Willams blocked the passing lane of both Defensive midfielders to overcome this, Anthony often drops deep to collect the ball. But he was quickly followed by the third ATK MB midfielder - to force him to pass back to center backs- this triggers the pressing. Roy Krishna and David Willams Press two center backs depending upon which side ball played and full-backs pressed by ATK Mohun Bagan's wing-backs, this often forced EB to go long which results in loss of possession. To overcome this, Jacques Maghoma started dropping in midfield to gain numerical superiority, shown in his heat map. Because of 4v3 in midfield, East Bengal dominated the midfield. Higher up the pitch, ATK Mohun Bagan stacked the center, which means East Bengal had spaces to attacks on flanks and put crosses from there. But crosses were brilliantly defended by Mohun Bagan's defense. Therefore EB was not able to create quality chances. So, this often forced EB in frustration to take shots from outside the box. as they took nine shots from outside the box. In the second half, they were trailing by a goal, EB pushed their midfielders high, and both right and left CB's moved in midfield, which leaves space behind in this area to counter-attack. Second MB's goal came in this manner, EB lost the possession, then the long ball to Manvir Singh in the spaces left by center-backs, and he finished with a superb left-foot strike. ISL 2019-20 Week 5 Top 10 Goals ft. Messi & Roy Krishna
The fifth week of Indian Super League (ISL) was full of enthralling encounters, with plenty of goals coming. The week, though, was highlighted with ATK's 3-0 victory against NorthEast United at the Salt Lake Stadium. Marquee signings Roy Krishna and David Williams once again got onto the score sheet. The in-form duo combined to score three goals with the former scoring a brace to down the Highlanders. The win took his side to the top of the table with 14 points, one more than second-placed Bengaluru. The loss meant Highlanders dropped points for the second consecutive game running after drawing away at Jamshedpur FC. Panagiotis Triadis equalised late in the injury time to earn his side a point and maintain their spot in the top four. Bengaluru on the other hand edged out low-lying Odisha FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. Centre-back Juanan's first-half strike was enough for the Blues to maintain their unbeaten run. Keeping up close with them in the top four, FC Goa too edged bottom-placed Hyderabad FC at the GMC Balayogi Stadium. Talismanic attacker Brandon Fernandes' brilliant delivery from a corner was converted by Manvir Singh, who is deputing for the injured Ferran Corominas. In another fixture, Mumbai City FC and Kerala Blasters played out a 1-1 draw at the Mumbai Football Arena. Raphael Messi Bouli had given the visitors a lead in the 75th minute but his celebrations were cut short.
