Bradley Beal's regular season is officially OVER and it seems like the Wizards season may be as well. Beal has 1 year left on his deal at the conclusion of this season. What should the team do? There were hopes of getting Domantas Sabonis, but he just got traded to the Sacramento Kings. Jerami Grant at the deadline? Do nothing? KDot, LC, and Amit give their thoughts on the tough situation. The MLR season officially started last week, and Old Glory DC is still looking for their first points of the season after dropping their opener to Rugby ATL 55-22. Amit watched rugby for the first time and was fascinated by it, LC attempts to explain some rules to Amit while KDot's line drops. We are officially the Washington COMMANDERS! The announcement was made last Thursday morning on the TODAY show and the name has grown on Amit and KDot since then. LC stands firm that he is not impressed by the name, nor has it grown on him. We conclude the show with the State of the Union, the DC Sports wraparound coverage segment, where it is highlighted that Michele Kang has officially become the owner of the Washington Spirit after a very long battle with now former owner Steve Baldwin. The Capitals are struggling some, DC United may be picking up a designated player, and Georgetown Basketball is in a world of hurt. #BradleyBeal #Wizards #OldGloryDC TIMECODES: 0:00 Intro 1:09 Wizards + Beal Future 15:36 Old Glory DC Lose To Rugby ATL 23:53 Washington Commanders New Name 32:54 State of the Union
The Washington Football Team Preview Show changed this week. The loss to Dallas was so bad that it needs to be talked about. We take the time to reflect and grieve after the loss a full 4 days later. We get into all the elements of it, including Taylor Heinicke's performance and Scott Turner's playcalling, the benches, Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, as well as Payne's IG drama. We discuss a new episode series we're putting together over the offseason. We are going to get into the makings of a successful NFL franchise. We talk general philosophy, roles and responsibilities, and then do a deep dive into each actor here in our franchise (Owner, GM, Team President, Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator) and see if we're all on the same page across the board and have genuine reasons for optimism moving forward. What are the Washington Football Team's playoff chances? KDot and Amit confirm with each other that they're not delusional, but still talk about what could happen if Washington wins their last coupld games against the Philadelphia Eagles and the Daniel Jones-less New York Giants. The episode concludes with picks for the Philadelphia Eagles game. Will the Washington Football Team prevail?? The Washington Football Team, riddled by COVID, fell to the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday Night Football by a score of 27-17. They are now 6-8 behind the aforementioned Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints, all of whom are now 7-7 on the season with 3 weeks left to play. This episode is all about the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. We begin by discussing the injury report. The big loss here is Cole Holcomb testing positive for COVID. By the numbers, he's a top 12 LB in the NFL and the QB of our defense. He will be sorely missed, but it does give Jamin Davis a golden opportunity to step up and have a big game. Other injuries include S/LB Landon Collins, RB Antonio Gibson, CB William Jackson III and DE Daniel Wise. Returning for the team are QBs Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen, LBs David Mayo and Milo Eifler, TE Temmarick Hemingway, S Kamren Curl, and CB Kendall Fuller (news broke Friday morning after this recording of Curl, Fuller, Eifler and Allen all returning). The Cowboys, meanwhile, are quite healthy, potentially missing only OT Tyron Smith. On the offensive side of the ball, it will be AWESOME to have QB1 aka Taylor Heinicke back starting for us. What can we expect? KDot preaches that we must go back to what got us that winning streak and run the ball in order to have success. Amit agrees, but also thinks this could be a big game for Taylor Heinicke. Most importantly, we have to limit turnovers. The Cowboys have generated 12 turnovers in their last 3 games. Don't turn it over, and we've got ourselves a solid chance of winning. On the defensive side of the ball, we have to stop the run. If we can't do that, it's over. This is where the loss of LB Cole Holcomb is HUGE. Jamin Davis and David Mayo are going to have to step up, especially if Landon Collins can't go (he had 2 turnovers himself on Tuesday). Stop the run, and then slow down the daunted Dallas Cowboys passing attack. A tall order, but it must be done if we want to keep our slim playoff hopes alive. Speaking of playoff hopes, how's the NFC playoff race looking? If we win out, what are our chances? Amit and KDot discuss. As always, we have predictions on the show. Who wins this Sunday Night showdown? KDot and Amit provide you with their picks. After an incredible victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday, our Washington Football Team (3-6) travels to Bank of America Stadium to take on the Carolina Panthers (5-5), reenergized by the return of QB Cam Newton. The Panthers overview touches on the energy that Cam Newton has brought to their team, how underrated their defense is, and looking at what they've done in the last 3 games. When the Panthers have been healthy (Stephon Gilmore and Christian McCaffrey both playing), they have been rock solid. When McCaffrey plays, Carolina is 4-1 on the season. When Stephon Gilmore has played (last 3 games), they're allowing an average opponent passer rating around 67, which is good for 2nd best in the NFL. We jump into the WFT Offense, led by Taylor Heinicke, against the Carolina Panthers defense. What do we need to do in order to achieve success against the Panthers? Do we let Taylor be Taylor and air it out? Or do we stick to the run as strongly as we did last week with Antonio Gibson, Jaret Patterson, and JD McKissic? KDot and Amit discuss the importance of chewing clock and keeping the chains moving in this game. Switching sides of the ball, what about their offense against our defense? Will Cam Newton start against us? If so, do we focus on stopping him, or should we put more of the focus on Christian McCaffrey? KDot and Amit also discuss the loss of Chase Young, as well as missing Montez Sweat for another game. The show concludes with predictions. Carolina is favored by 3.5 points with an Over/Under of 43.5 points. Amit correctly picked Washington to beat Tampa Bay last week - will he get it right again? He hopes not! #CamNewton #WFTvsCarolina #TaylorHeinicke TIMECODES: 0:00 Welcome 1:20 Carolina Panthers Overview 13:00 Injury Report 13:57 WFT Offense vs CAR Defense 20:50 WFT Defense vs CAR Offense 33:58 Game Predictions
The New York Football Giants are coming to town TONIGHT to play our Washington Football Team in the 1st NFC East Matchup of the season. We don't play another division game until week 14 of the season (December 12th against Dallas), so this is a HUGE game. We begin by recapping how the New York Giants did in their first game against the Denver Broncos, a 27-13 loss. We discuss Daniel Jones performance, what the Broncos did well and what the Giants did poorly. We move to the final official injury report, which sees Shane Lemieux and Evan Engram both out for the game, and Saquon Barkley is "questionable", but he'll end up playing. What are the keys to the game on defense against the Giants offense? This is a statement game for our defensive line. Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, Matt Ioannidis, and Tim Settle all have to bring their "A" game. KDot and Amit are both in sync with what needs to be done on that side of the ball. Switching sides of the ball, what does our offense need to do against the Giants defense? What are our expectations of Taylor Heinicke? Between Antonio Gibson, Logan Thomas and Terry McLaurin, who should be the most involved? Finally, we get to our predictions and prop bets that we like. Do we get our first victory of the season? Or do we fall to 0-2 and hit the panic button? Today is a big day. Let's find out if the Washington Football Team will reign victorious tonight together!
