#EoinMorgan #KolkataKnightRiders #IPL2021 Story Editor: Manojit Jana ........................................................................ Cricket is a ‘gentleman’s game’! But over the years, due to the stiff competition between teams, the ‘gentleman’ factor has disappeared from the game and that is unfortunate. On Monday, another instance raised eyebrows when a cryptic placard showing ’54’ was spotted at the KKR dugout while Eoin Morgan was batting in the middle. It is not the first time England world cup winning captain and KKR video analyst Nathan Leamon has been involved in such an unsporting act. The duo was caught experimenting the coded system during the third T20I between England and South Africa in Cape Town. Are you a Fitness freak? The New Orleans Pelicans lost another heartbreaking game Sunday afternoon against the New York Knicks. It was another instance where the Pelicans had a lead late in the game...and still found a way to lose. Lonzo Ball was blamed by the media for the loss...and was even thrown under the bus by Stan Van Gundy. We explain how Lonzo was at fault...and had a bad game...but was not the reason the Pelicans lost to the Knicks. We also identify what could be the real problem with the Pelicans...and how it could lead to the eventual departure of Zion Williamson.
CHELSEA ARE THROUGH TO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI FINALS!!! Chelsea 0-1 Porto A forgettable 0-1 win for Porto by virtue of an unforgettable overhead kick from Mehdi Taremi saw Chelsea progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 2-1 victory on aggregate. For the longest time, this looked to have shutout written all over it. Thomas Tuchel’s side produced a controlled, sensible performance that felt like a word to prospective opponents in the last four of Europe’s premiere club competition. This is a team that just gets stuff done and either Real Madrid or Liverpool are about to find that out. There was a late injection of jeopardy when Nanu’s cross from the right was met by a breathtaking acrobatic effort from Taremi, which rippled the far corner of the net. By then, we were into the fourth of four added minutes at the end of the 90. This was a 1-0 in 0-0’s clothing. Can a subdued defeat be classed as a professional display? In this instance, from Chelsea’s perspective, it can. Because while the cards were stacked in their favour with that 2-0 lead from the first leg, this tie was not decided. But with the groundwork laid in Seville last week, the cement was applied in west London to set in stone. The cushion of Chelsea’s two away goals were a couple stones in the shoe for Porto that they could not shake loose. Even given the aberration of the last game at Stamford Bridge where Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion found five goals, the fact that the previous six home games under Tuchel were all clean sheets did not bode well for the three or more Sergio Conceicao’s outfit needed on the night. It did not bode well that a recent trend coming into this fixture had Porto winless in seven meetings against English opposition in the Champions League. Make that eight now. Today I have more news coming up. Before we start the video, please subscribe, like, share, and feel free to comment... ONLY CHILWELL, THIAGO SILVA, AZPILICUETA, ZIYECH, AND PULISIC HAD REACHED THIS STAGE BEFORE It all means we have a semi-final in the world’s elite domestic competition to look forward to against either Real Madrid or Liverpool, with Tuchel saying he will enjoy watching the second leg of that tie tomorrow safe in the knowledge we have already booked our spot in the last four. It was an assured second-leg showing from the Blues that got us there… ‘We accepted what was needed tonight and I think we deserved to go through,’ assessed Tuchel. ‘It was a tough game, perhaps not the best to watch on the television, but from the sidelines, I could see a very fast and intense match. ‘It was a tough fight and we had to work hard at times to escape the pressure. They played in a very fluid and aggressive way. They showed that they can change positions all the time, they come up behind and overlap and then, in the next instance, they can underlap. So we had to be ready to adapt to their many movements. ‘With every minute that went by, we did that even better and overall I am very happy with how we defended and managed this difficult game. ‘There was a lot of work to do without praise; there was nobody there to cheer you for a tackle. A lot of hard work in secret was done, and that is why I am very happy.’ “THE SEMI-FINAL OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE! IT’S A BIG ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL OF US” | THOMAS TUCHEL POST MATCH Tuchel underlined the professionalism of his young side’s performance ‘It felt like we weren’t in danger on the bench, but I was still nervous because football can change. It can be a crazy goal, a deflection, or a bicycle kick, it can happen no matter how good you defend. ‘It’s very hard to play your best game against Porto. It’s part of your performance to not let your opponents perform. This is what they do, and this what we do also. Today was a day to hang in, show the effort and intensity, and team spirit we needed. ‘If you don’t have a lot of experience and you have a young team, it’s the moment to be together and fight hard. We deserved a clean sheet again, we deserved a clean sheet at Crystal Palace, and this was the key. ‘When you work hard, when you sweat a lot, you cannot be nervous. We encouraged everybody to accept we play hard games like this almost every three days at this intense level.’ Mateo Kovacic missed out through injury ‘Yesterday in training he got a muscle injury in his hamstring after 20 minutes, more or less out of nothing. He is for sure out for the game against City as well, which is a big loss. ‘I was very sad for him. We don’t have so many experienced players who have played the Champions League many times. When the anthem plays he is relaxed and at the same time, he is a hard fighter. ‘Everybody is happy to have him around so we did it also for him today.’ N’Golo Kante came through the 90 minutes unscathed and was excellent in midfield ‘We took a little risk with N’Golo but this was the moment to put him on the field and hope he had the energy for 90 minutes. N’Golo is incredible. He is like one-and-a-half or two players. Everyone who sees him for the first time loves him. All my family loves him when they watch our games now! ‘It’s so nice to have him. He wins so many balls and gives everybody confidence. He did perfect and now it’s time to recover well.’ Another huge test awaits in the form of Real Madrid or Liverpool ‘We have arrived here with a very young team, but we want to turn that around. What a young team can always do is fight, run, hang in there and take it as an adventure. Hopefully, we stay adventurous and brave enough to accept the challenge. ‘It’s a big step to be in a semi-final. It’s a very big achievement. We are not used to being there, and once you are there you play for the final. We need every minute to learn and grow, and you cannot improve without these big experiences. We are doing that while we are playing it.’ Please do not forget to subscribe, like, share, and comment, Thanks for watching. https://youtu.be/D7hpC6OnBv4
► http://www.youtube.com/c/mercato?sub_confirmation=1 Notre site Internet ► www.footmercato.net #TeamFootMercato
Highlights from MSU's victory over #2 Michigan in the regular season finale at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. This marked MSU's 3rd win over an AP Top 5 team in 13 days, the first such instance by any team in college basketball since 1997. The Spartans were led by Rocket Watts, Aaron Henry and Joey Hauser. With the win, the Spartans all but secured their 23rd consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.
Yes, the Los Angeles Clippers did lose on Tuesday to the Boston Celtics. But there were still some interesting things that happened in that game that stoked my interest. For instance, the Clippers ran zone on 21 possessions in this game. That accounted for nearly 20% of their season total in terms of zone usage. That should automatically raise your eyebrows. Was this one a one-off? Was this something that we’ll see more as the season goes along? It’ll be interesting to watch play out. This video breakdown focused on 11 of those 21 possessions because I found them to be quite interesting from an analysis perspective. So, sit back and enjoy!
