The Los Angeles Dodgers kept the same lineup ahead of the second game of their series against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers are in desperate need of some offense, falling short yet again in their series opener against their divisional rivals. They scored just three runs in the game, ultimately losing to a late-inning surge from the visitors. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start for the Dodgers on Tuesday, making his eighth start of the season for LA. He has been solid for the Dodgers this season, posting a 3.09 ERA through 43.2 innings pitched so far. He has 40 strikeouts under his belt, and has gone at least five innings in each of his starts so far this season. Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani leads the line for the Dodgers, and will look to break out of the slump which has plagued him for nearly two weeks now. The superstar has four hits in 36 at-bats in May, and has struggled to produce any offense for LA since the beginning of the month. He has just one homer since April 13. Shortstop Mookie Betts will bat second behind Ohtani, exactly where he batted upon his return from the injured list Monday. First baseman Freddie Freeman bats third, followed by right fielder Kyle Tucker and catcher Will Smith. One of the Dodgers’ hottest hitters in third baseman Max Muncy bats sixth, followed by center fielder Andy Pages, who is also on a decent run for LA. Left fielder Teoscar Hernandez will bat eighth, and second baseman Hyeseong Kim rounds out the lineup. Dodgers’ Lineup vs. Giants 1. Shohei Ohtani, DH 2. Mookie Betts, SS 3. Freddie Freeman, 1B 4. Kyle Tucker, RF 5. Will Smith, C 6. Max Muncy, 3B 7. Andy Pages, CF 8. Teoscar Hernandez, LF 9. Hyeseong Kim, 2B P. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, RHP Right-hander Adrian Houser will take the mound on Tuesday, and the Dodgers will look to capitalize on a weak point in the Giants’ rotation. Houser has a 6.19 ERA through seven starts, only striking out 19 batters through 36.1 innings pitched. He has allowed a home run in each of his last five starts, and has let multiple runs cross in every one of his outings this season. The Dodgers desperately need some help on offense, and could take advantage of a struggling pitcher to find the spark they need. Yamamoto will throw the first pitch of the game Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. PT. California Post’s Dodgers reporters Jack Harris and Dylan Hernandez are at Dodgers Stadium and hitting the panic button after the team’s 9-3 loss to the Giants. Going back to April 21, the Dodgers are 25th in batting, hitting 11% below league average, raising concerns that this sort of slump could also happen in the post-season. In their Dodgers podcast, Dylan and Jack call out the struggles of Shohei Ohtani, who has 4 hits in his last 38 at-bats. They watched the superstar hit a ball out of the stadium in batting practice, then go 0-5 against San Francisco. The guys, of course, talk Roki Sasaki again, but are not quite ready to nickname him the Roki-coaster. Jack and Dylan then check receipts on their predictions from the week prior, and they are struggling just as much as the Dodgers. Dylan nails his Does Dylan Know the Dodgers question, but Jack is not as lucky with Dylan’s greatest reporting hits. Max Muncy discussed the Dodgers’ continued offensive struggles after another frustrating loss to the Giants. Muncy admitted the Dodgers are currently in a team-wide “funk” offensively, especially when it comes to cashing in scoring opportunities. “We’re creating situations… we’re just not getting a hit here or there.” The Dodgers slugger also discussed: Players trying to do too much in big moments Veterans holding conversations behind closed doors Why the team is trying not to overreact The importance of simplifying at-bats Staying mentally clear during difficult stretches Trusting the Dodgers’ championship experience Believing the offense will eventually break through Muncy emphasized that while the Dodgers know the situation looks rough right now, the clubhouse remains confident because they’ve overcome stretches like this before. “We’re back-to-back champions for a reason.” He also pointed to positive signs including Mookie Betts returning, Teoscar Hernández getting on base multiple times, and improved situational hitting despite the final result. “There’s going to be a stretch coming soon where everything we touch finds grass.” ドジャース -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please subscribe and hit that notification bell to stay up to date on all the latest Dodgers news, rumors, interviews, live streams, and more! The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated shortstop Mookie Betts and have him in the lineup for their series opener against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers have struggled for offense over the past several weeks, and will hope Betts can provide a boost to their lineup amid their team-wide slump. LA scored three runs or fewer in each of their three games against the Atlanta Braves in their last series, and only won one of them. Roki Sasaki will take the mound for the Dodgers, and the right-hander is surely ready to go after getting some extra rest. The Dodgers listed Sasaki as their probable pitcher for Saturday’s game, but moved him to a Monday start and gave Blake Snell the start instead after his return from the injured list. The rest will hopefully do Sasaki well, as he has struggled through his first handful of starts in 2026. He has a 5.97 ERA after six appearances, striking out 26 batters in 28.2 innings pitched. He has been strong through the first couple of innings of his starts, but tends to run into trouble during his second time through the order. Only one of his 19 earned runs this season has come in the first two innings of a ballgame. Shohei Ohtani will lead off for the Dodgers as their designated hitter and look to break out of the slump he’s been riding, and Betts will bat second in his return to the lineup. First baseman Freddie Freeman makes room for Betts and moves down to the three hole, while right fielder Kyle Tucker bats in the cleanup spot. Catcher Will Smith drops down the lineup to fifth with Betts back in the lineup, and third baseman Max Muncy will bat sixth. Center fielder Andy Pages bats seventh for the Dodgers, followed by left fielder Teoscar Hernandez and second baseman Hyseong Kim. 1. Shohei Ohtani, DH 2. Mookie Betts, SS 3. Freddie Freeman, 1B 4. Kyle Tucker, RF 5. Will Smith, C 6. Max Muncy, 3B 7. Andy Pages, CF 8. Teoscar Hernandez, LF 9. Hyeseong Kim, 2B P. Roki Sasaki, RHP Right-hander Trevor McDonald will start for the Giants, making his second start of the season for San Francisco. He began the season in the minors for the Giants, but came up May 4 for a start against the San Diego Padres, where he threw seven innings of one-run baseball and allowed just two hits. The 25-year-old ranks as their No. 16 prospect, and will look to further solidify himself in their rotation. The first game of the three-game series begins Monday at 7:10 p.m. PT.
