Connor McDavid Hit On Jesperi Kotkaniemi

Here is a short video of the Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid’s controversial check on Montreal Canadiens Jesperi Kotkaniemi. McDavid was assessed a 2 minute roughing penalty on the hit. Many feel it was an elbow to the head, and were calling for a lengthy suspension, but initial contact was shoulder to shoulder, with McDavid then following through high with a forearm into the chin/face of Kotkaniemi, who was not injured on the play. As of the time of this posting, there had been no word if the hit would be reviewed and submitted for supplemental discipline.
