HIGHLIGHTS: Austin FC 0 - 1 LA Galaxy
Despite having the vast majority of the ball and the chances, Austin FC fell in a 1-0 defeat against the LA Galaxy on Sunday night at Q2 Stadium. The Galaxy took an early lead through Marco Delgado, who intercepted a pass and hit a long-range strike that glanced off the post and in. The Verde & Black nearly equalized on a number of occasions throughout the first half, coming close on a Diego Fagundez header in the 16th minute and a Sebastián Driussi volley fired over the crossbar. Maxi Urruti then almost scored on the turn in the first minute of the second half. As the game wore on, LA looked to slow things down as much as possible, with goalkeeper Jonathan Bond picking up a yellow card for time wasting in the 53rd minute. In the closing stages, ATXFC were twice unlucky not to draw level. Driussi’s powerful free kick rocketed off the post in the 89th minute, and Danny Hoesen’s flick dribbled inches wide.

HIGHLIGHTS: Austin FC 2 - 1 Houston Dynamo
Dani Pereira and Sebastián Driussi each scored as Austin FC came from behind on Saturday afternoon at PNC Stadium to defeat Houston Dynamo FC 2-1. The result extends the Club’s record winning streak to four matches, including two consecutive comeback road victories, and takes ATXFC back to the top of the MLS Western Conference and Supporters’ Shield standings. The match didn’t start well for the Verde & Black. In the 5th minute, Adam Lundkvist picked off a long clearance from Brad Stuver. Lundkvist fed Sebastian Ferreira, who hit a perfect strike from midfield that arced over Stuver as he recovered. Stuver went off injured sustained from effort to keep out Ferreira’s shot, and his replacement Andrew Tarbell made two solid saves to keep ATXFC in the match shortly after. As the first half wore on, Austin had more of the ball and more of the chances. The Verde & Black were rewarded with an equalizer in the 39th minute. Alex Ring played Ethan Finlay down the right flank, and Finlay’s floated ball to the back post was expertly finished by Dani Pereira for his first Austin FC goal. Pereira nearly doubled his tally just before halftime, but Houston goalkeeper Steve Clark dove to deny him. Austin would eventually take the lead on 66 minutes courtesy of a spectacular shot by Sebastián Driussi. Picking up the ball near the edge of the area on a pass from Diego Fagundez, Driussi cut onto his right foot and unleashed a beautiful curler that snuck inside the far post. In the final stages, the Verde & Black did well to limit the Dynamo’s scoring opportunities, and efficiently saw out the victory.

HIGHLIGHTS: Austin FC 3 - 0 Vancouver Whitecaps
Maxi Urruti scored a first-half brace and Sebastián Driussi added a league-leading sixth goal of the season as Austin FC cruised to a 3-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night, in front of the Club's 22nd-consecutive MLS sellout crowd of 20,738 at Q2 Stadium. The win completes ATXFC’s first-ever three-match MLS winning streak, and is the Club's first-ever win against Canadian opposition. The Verde & Black got off to a flying start, taking the lead in the 11th minute. Driussi intercepted a Vancouver backpass and slid the ball to Urruti, who fired in a first-time finish with his right foot. Urruti doubled his tally and Austin’s advantage 15 minutes later. He received a pass from Alex Ring with his back to goal, turned, and placed a precise strike inside the far post. Despite chances for Vancouver either side of halftime, the ATXFC defense held firm. Driussi then put the outcome of the match beyond doubt in the 68th minute, heading the ball home after Julio Cascante flicked on a long throw-in from Nick Lima. From there, Austin efficiently saw out a victory which moved the Club into first place in the MLS Supporters' Shield standings, and improved the Verde & Black to 8-1-1 in their last 10 home matches.
