Opening day specialist Erling Haaland bagged a brace while summer signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki scored on their Premier League debuts as City got off to the perfect start courtesy of a 4-0 opening day victory at Wolves. Haaland tapped home at the back post for the opener just past the half hour mark after a pinpoint cross from the left by Rico Lewis. Reijnders doubled our lead moments later after moving onto an Oscar Bobb through ball and producing a classy finish. Our No.9 Haaland, who has now scored on each of his four Premier League opening days, put the game beyond Wolves with a mesmeric move involving Reijnders and Bobb which ended with the clinical Norwegian firing past Jose Sa. Fellow new boy Cherki completed the scoring on a wonderful afternoon with a bullet drive just eight minutes after coming on. We lifted the 2025 Emirates Cup trophy with a classy 3-0 win over Athletic Club in our final pre-season game on Saturday. Viktor Gyokeres headed in his first Arsenal goal from a Martin Zubimendi cross, before Bukayo Saka doubled our lead. Athletic Club barely threatened us in the second half as we controlled the advantage comfortably, and it was Kai Havertz, on as a substitute, who scored our final goal in a commanding performance.
