The Colorado Rockies fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday and in the series. Suzie Hunter and Brendan Vogt are breaking ...
We ended our three-game losing streak in fine style with a thrilling win at Stamford Bridge. Twice we took the lead in the first half ā through Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe - and twice we were pegged back. But two goals without reply after the break ā another from former Chelsea academy striker Nketiah and Bukayo Saka from the penalty spot - were enough to give us a much-needed victory. Chelsea had had the better of the opening ten minutes. After a flurry of corners Marcos Alonso had a shot deflected just wide. We got enough men back to just about snuff out the chance. Romelu Lukaku then shot wide after a loose pass by Emile Smith Rowe. Mikel Arteta made three changes to the side that had lost at Southampton at the weekend, with Ben White shifting across to the right and Rob Holding coming in to the centre, and the defence took a while to settle. But it was a poor pass from the hosts that gave us the chance to open the scoring. There appeared to be no pressure on Andreas Christensen midway in his own half, but his backpass was woefully underhit, and Nketiah pounced. He took the ball on to the edge of the area, kept his cool and slotted past Edouard Mendy in the Chelsea goal. It was the strikerās first Premier League goal of the season. But within four minutes it was Nketiahās turn to give the ball away, and Chelsea levelled. Timo Werner picked up possession outside the box and though his shot seemed to lack power, a deflection wrong footed Aaron Ramsdale the ball rolled in. At the other end Nketiah bobbled a shot just wide after wonderful work from Saka just inside the area. The strikerās shot bounced off his other foot and loop the wrong side of the upright. It was an open game, with plenty of stray passes, and we retook the lead after living dangerously inside our own box. But Granit Xhaka did brilliantly to bring the ball away from danger and launch a counter-attack. Martin Odegaard took the ball on and rolled it square to Smith Rowe to stroke into the corner precisely from the edge of the box. Once again though, the lead didnāt last. Cesar Azpilicueta stole in front of Nuno Tavares to turn home a cross in front of goal. It was 2-2 inside half an hour. Nketiah and Tavares both sent shots wide in immediate response. As the half drew to a close Smith Rowe shot just wide after dancing past three defenders. The keeper was rooted to the spot as the ball flew just the wrong side of the woodwork. The intensity remained high at the start of the second half, and we took the lead for the third time on the hour mark. Tavaresās cross fell to Nketiah, he looked to have been dispossessed but he showed his strikerās instincts to stab home. The challenge was to hold the lead this time. Chelsea came back and Alonso had a shot blocked by Gabriel with Ramsdale beaten. We were getting deeper and deeper as Arteta brought on Cedric as an extra defender. The full back broke free on the right but his pulled back cross was behind Saka. Tavares smashed his chance wide. We continued to soak up the pressure before sealing the points late on. Saka was hauled down in the box by Azpilicueta, and stepped up himself to thump in goal number four. Four goals, three points, and the race for the top four is very much alive again. #arsenal #nketiah #Saka Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. This was almost the exact same shot for KD as game 7 of the playoffs. Only this time, if you really look closely, youāll see Giannis jumping to double him and actually leaving some space for a bullet pass to Dragic and the game winning layup. But this was not the problem for the Nets of course as I will always live with this shot from one of the deadliest scorers in NBA history. Milwaukee exposed a much bigger issue for Brooklyn, and we gotta talk about it. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Letās get into it. Stopping Giannis is almost impossible as it is but then watch this: Right here KD is matched up with him, Matthews just walks up here and thereās literally no effort whatsoever from Durant to fight over, instead he just leaves Antetokounmpo to the much smaller Curry, and just watch how that ends. Easy 2 points. Then, Kessler Edwards was left on an island 2 times in a row, despite clearly not being able to handle Giannis on his own. On this 2nd play, we got the same situation of switching way too easily. James Johnson is the best they got when it comes to defending Giannis so for this switch to happen that easily, itās unacceptable and you can clearly see the result. This is exactly what Iām saying. See how Johnson can at least provide some resistance on the backdown? That forces Giannis to throw it back out to Jrue but then look at this. Kyrie is just standing here, no communication for him to watch the screen coming, instead this is a casual switch and now Irving is left with Antetokounmpo under the basket and automatically we got the lob, the slight bobble but eventually another finish inside. You can see that all of these are dunks or layups. The Bucks had 16 more points in the paint, 15 more second chance points, provided by the 16 more rebounds that they got against Brooklyn. And you can see that this is the achilleās heel for the Nets. Their defense is straight up bad, but in a potential matchup against Milwaukee- theyāre simply too small for them. Look at Seth Curry hanging on for dear life against Jrue Holiday here. Jrue manhandles him all the way to the paint he turns and floats this one in. And right here if Iām him, Iām not coming to double in this situation. Iāll take my chances with KD on him. Itās not that Curry could change much if he comes over. Instead, now the shooter is open in the corner, Antetokounmpo finds him and he knocks it down. Having that huge size disadvantage and not working hard to make up for it is a recipe for disaster. Even with all of this however, the Nets had a 7 point lead with 2 minutes to go, but credit to Giannis for being super clutch, first with the 3 pointer to tie the game in regulation, and then in overtime the 2 free throws to win the game for Milwaukee. A monster game of 44 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists, exposing the Brooklyn weaknesses in the process. I canāt wait for the playoffs to start for yet another potential 7 game series between these 2 teams. If this game was any indicator, itās about to be crazy in the postseason. Let me know in the comments who you got in a potential matchup in the playoffs. Thatās it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
