#Millwall vs #westbromwichalbion full time #Matchreport Millwall recorded a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Sky Bet Championship at The Den on Saturday afternoon. Mason Bennett opened the scoring after 67 minutes with a finish from an acute angle, before Benik Afobe doubled the lead with a classy strike just nine minutes later. Gary Rowett made one change for the visit of The Baggies, as Oliver Burke came in for his home debut at the expense of George Evans, who dropped to the bench. The visitors started the afternoon on top and almost scrambled home the opening goal with just four minutes on the clock, but after a corner-kick failed to be clear, Bartosz Bialkowski managed to clutch the ball in amongst a batch of flying boots inside the six-yard box. Bialkowski then had to pull of an outstanding save from Baggies new boy Andy Carroll just a minute later, as the Pole got down quickly and well to parry the attacker's strike away from goal. Sloppy possession then led to Karlan Grant shaping to shoot, but his effort sailed over. After all four sides of the ground rose to their feet in memory of Isla Caton, Albion continued their charge on The Lions' penalty area, with Darnell Furlong's cross going across the face of goal without any telling touch, before Carroll fouled Danny McNamara on the far side to relieve the pressure. At the other end, Millwall's first chance of the game came on 12 minutes, but after patient build-up play saw McNamara cross to the back post, Scott Malone ballooned an effort over. McNamara's half-chance then went wide of the far post six minutes later, before the biggest chance to date went begging just after the midway point, as Benik Afobe was just unable to reach McNamara's cross, fashioned from Burke's smart pass on the halfway line. There were just over 30 minutes elapsed when determination from Bennett saw the ball deflect into the path of Afobe, but the striker could not control in what would have left him in a one-on-one situation with David Button, allowing the Albion defence to clear. Millwall had the first chance of the second-half, but after Burke's header set-up Afobe for a chance on goal, he sliced his effort over the crossbar. Burke then beat his man and looked set to score before a top save from Button kept Albion's sheet clean, before the loanee had another chance to open the scoring as he took down Malone's long pass, but his first touch took him away from goal. The opportunities kept coming for Millwall, with Maikel Kieftenbeld threading a pass through to Bennett with 56 minutes on the clock, but the close attentions of Cedric Kipre were enough to ensure that the frontman's effort failed to trouble Button. Shortly before the hour-mark, West Brom substitute Callum Robinson nearly made an instant impact as his deflected effort had to be tipped behind by Bialkowski, but with 67 minutes played, the deadlock was broken - by Millwall. As a Malone free-kick was sent in, the ball bobbled around, hitting the head of two, before dropping to Bennett at the far post, who made no mistake in firing home, despite the attempts to clear on the line. Nine minutes later, it was two - as Afobe chased down a lofted ball, he beat his marker before checking back onto his left foot and striking a stylish effort past Button to double the advantage. Afobe almost had a chance to notch a second - and Millwall's third - but his touch let him down as he sprung past the last line of The Baggies' defence, with The Lions seeing out the remainder of the game in no real trouble of conceding. Emile Smith Rowe's second-half goal was enough to give us victory in Mikel Arteta's 100th game in charge. We had to work hard for all three points though, after a missed penalty in the first half and disallowed goals either side of the break. After a minute's silence ahead of Remembrance Sunday next week, we made a promising start at the Emirates. Ainsley Maitland-Niles was the only change to the side that beat Leicester last weekend, replacing the injured Thomas Partey in midfield. And his clever pass to Alexandre Lacazette inside the box led to us having the ball in the net after just seven minutes, but it was ruled out by VAR. Lacazette's lob found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, from him the ball bobbled to Bukayo Saka, but replays clearly showed his was offside as he stroked home. The game became scrappy for a while after that, with neither side taking control. There were more yellow cards than shots in the opening half hour - two apiece - and it was a foul in the area that gave us a golden opportunity to take the lead. Lacazette was taken out in the box by Danny Rose, only for Aubameyang to see his spot kick saved by Ben Foster, who also gobbled up the rebound. Late in the half Foster also denied Gabriel well with his legs, when the big defender got his head to an inswinging Saka corner. The second half started in similar fashion, with both sides picking up more bookings before we eventually made the breakthrough. Ben White took control, surged forward towards the area before the ball fell to Smith Rowe just outside the box. His low shot found the corner, with Watford players appealing for a foul on Moussa Sissoko. The goal was given though, and Smith Rowe had scored for the third Premier League game running. We had another goal disallowed, when Aubameyang sliding in on the line to get the final touch to a Martin Odegaard shot, but the flag was quickly raised. The frustration was that it appeared as though Odegaard's shot may have gone in without Aubameyang's touch. Watford were not laying down and began to put us under more pressure in the closing stages. There was a real scare when Josh King rounded Ramsdale outside the area, found himself with an open goal but shot into the side netting. Juraj Kucka was sent off late on for the visitors, for a second bookable offence, and then Sambi Lokonga could have sealed it with a piledriver in injury time, but Foster batted it away. 1-0 to the Arsenal it was though, enough to lift us to fifth place before in the international hiatus. #arsenal #smithrowe Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Emile Smith Rowe, Nikita Parris, Tobin Heath, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Bukayo Saka, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. Chelsea news Hakim Ziyech speaks to Timo Werner after missing vs Rennes. hakim ziyech, chelsea, premier league, hakim ziyech chelsea, hakim ziyech skills, timo werner, timo werner chelsea, frank lampard, chelsea highlights, chelsea fc,premier league highlights, champions league, goals, football goals, best goals 2020,best goals, missing, football, field goal, missed field goal Welcome to Flexi Dave YouTube channel I hope you are doing great, thanks for watching. In this channel where I discuss all things about football ( Chelsea news and all update about Chelsea) with 100% rawness and honesty! So you know what you're getting from me! This is the place to have fun, bring positive vibes and discuss football from a new perspective. Welcome on board this journey... Hakim Ziyech appeared to tell Chelsea team-mate, Timo Werner, he needed to be more clinical in future after the forward missed a late chance against Rennes in the Champions League. The German striker has had a mixed start to life at Stamford Bridge since joining from RB Leipzig over the summer, scoring a very respectable eight goals in 14 games in all competitions but also missing a number of big changes. That continued in France on Tuesday night, with Werner missing from six yards out in the fourth minute of the match, somehow blazing over the bar from close range. He squandered another huge chance late in the match after being played in by Ziyech, firing a tame effort straight at the Rennes goalkeeper – though fortunately, Olivier Giroud was on hand to spare his blushes and dispatch the rebound with a powerful header. Ziyech did not appear best pleased with Werner, though, and before Giroud’s follow-up effort had hit the back of the net he could be seen screaming and gesticulating at his profligate team-mate. Despite Chelsea grabbing their dramatic late winner, Ziyech did not forget the miss and as all the players celebrated in a huddle around Giroud, the Moroccan took the opportunity to speak to Werner. Ziyech is actually such an influential character already, he has very high standards, look at this clip, he knows Werner needs to put those chances away but reassured him and Timo even says sorry, I’m loving the team chemistry. He appeared to tell him that he cannot spurn such golden opportunities, with Werner acknowledging he could have done better with his effort and offering a brief apology. Manager Frank Lampard has zero concerns about Werner and has been happy with his performances so far, saying: ‘I don’t know, he’s scored a lot of goals already and he’s adapting to a new league. ‘The chance today, Timo wants to score that but the ball’s bobbling as it comes along and I know myself that those finishes look a lot easier from afar than they always are. I think it’s just normal that a player of Timo’s quality and where he is that he’s going to get even better because he’s a top-class player. ‘I’ve been really happy with him since he’s got here. He’s feeling his team-mates and his team-mates are feeling him, hence he’s getting in positions to score in every game. So more goals will come as a progression from that.’ Please subscribe, like, share and comment. Thanks for watching. https://youtu.be/3eT7WeJcFVc
Bit of a light hearted session on a Friday before a weekend of games for all of us so we limited the workload we put ourselves through. Windy, wet & bobbly as ...
The Dallas Cowboys have been hit with a plethora of injuries already in 2020. In particular, the secondary and offensive line units are holding on by a thread. Cornerback Anthony Brown is currently on injured reserve with a rib injury and Chidobe Awuzie will miss multiple weeks with a hamstring issue. Starting right tackle La’el Collins is on injured reserve with a hip injury and backup tackle Cam Erving is out with an MCL sprain. The Cowboys seem likely to have a key member of the secondary this Sunday though as rookie Trevon Diggs, who suffered a shoulder injury in Week 2 vs the Atlanta Falcons and missed practice on Wednesday, is expected to start vs the Seattle Seahawks according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. He’ll do some rehab work before working his way into team drills later. Veteran left tackle Tyron Smith is currently dealing with neck stingers and will do rehab work at practice today. He missed last week’s game vs the Seahawks, however, team owner Jerry Jones is optimistic about his chances this week. “He didn’t play last week in part because we made preparations for the future,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday. “It wasn’t impossible to have him out there last week had we done a couple of things differently, but by design, we didn’t do it that way. We wanted to look to the long term, or the longer-term being the next games, the ones we’re getting ready to play. So, I feel as good as you can feel. I don’t know and nobody knows right now until we get out there and see how he’s operating during the week here at practice. But for the longer term, I feel good about it.” DeMarcus Lawrence, who missed Wednesday’s practice due to the birth of his child, will also be rehabbing a knee ailment. He’ll be eased back into team drills later in practice. The Cowboys definitely hope all three of these guys are available with such a tough opponent like the Seahawks this week as they look to avoid a 1-2 start to the 2020 season. Amari Cooper: "I wish I would have been able to run full speed," a frustrated Cooper said on Thursday. "I couldn't do what I wanted to do. Obviously it would have been a touchdown." Cooper said that a lingering foot injury decreased his speed and was the explanation for what seemed like an overthrow. "It's a lot better [now]," Cooper updated the media on Thursday. "I've been running full speed." Cooper has proven that he's thrived to get better since he arrived in Dallas via trade from the Raiders, and his progress and chemistry with Dak Prescott has surely helped the quarterback's young career as well. Cooper's ability to make a catch like the one he made against Atlanta wasn't luck and athleticism. It was the result of conscious and deliberate practice. "I practice one-handed catches [as if] I can only catch them with one hand," Cooper explained. "Usually it sticks. But it didn't stick. So I had to bobble it and catch it." If improvement is a constant goal of Cooper's then this Sunday's game in Seattle will be a great opportunity. Throughout his career, he has performed drastically better at home than he has on the road. Despite playing one less game at home, he has nearly 1,000 more receiving yards at home than he does on the road. His catch percentage is worse on the road. He has exactly half as many touchdowns in opposing stadiums. But he caught 10 passes against the Rams in Los Angeles in the season opener. A great showing against an undefeated Seahawks team could signal he's turning the corner as a road player, which would only make the Cowboys more dangerous. Cooper knows that he's part of what could be the most effective receiving core in the league, and in a game when that gets fully unlocked, there might not be a team in the NFL that can keep up. CeeDee Lamb's 100-yard game against the Falcons was a reminder of just how dangerous they might be. Cooper, too, recorded 100 receiving yards in his second NFL game, and it was something he thought about in terms of Lamb's confidence after last Sunday. "That 100 yards is the code where a receiver can claim he had a good game," he said. According to Cooper, a game that features a touchdown from him, Lamb, and Michael Gallup as well as 100-yard performances from all three is more than possible. "I know it can happen," Cooper said. "I know it can happen often. And when it does, I know how lethal we can be." Click here for the full article https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/amari-disappointed-with-his-one-handed-catch
