This was almost the exact same shot for KD as game 7 of the playoffs. Only this time, if you really look closely, you’ll see Giannis jumping to double him and actually leaving some space for a bullet pass to Dragic and the game winning layup. But this was not the problem for the Nets of course as I will always live with this shot from one of the deadliest scorers in NBA history. Milwaukee exposed a much bigger issue for Brooklyn, and we gotta talk about it. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Stopping Giannis is almost impossible as it is but then watch this: Right here KD is matched up with him, Matthews just walks up here and there’s literally no effort whatsoever from Durant to fight over, instead he just leaves Antetokounmpo to the much smaller Curry, and just watch how that ends. Easy 2 points. Then, Kessler Edwards was left on an island 2 times in a row, despite clearly not being able to handle Giannis on his own. On this 2nd play, we got the same situation of switching way too easily. James Johnson is the best they got when it comes to defending Giannis so for this switch to happen that easily, it’s unacceptable and you can clearly see the result. This is exactly what I’m saying. See how Johnson can at least provide some resistance on the backdown? That forces Giannis to throw it back out to Jrue but then look at this. Kyrie is just standing here, no communication for him to watch the screen coming, instead this is a casual switch and now Irving is left with Antetokounmpo under the basket and automatically we got the lob, the slight bobble but eventually another finish inside. You can see that all of these are dunks or layups. The Bucks had 16 more points in the paint, 15 more second chance points, provided by the 16 more rebounds that they got against Brooklyn. And you can see that this is the achille’s heel for the Nets. Their defense is straight up bad, but in a potential matchup against Milwaukee- they’re simply too small for them. Look at Seth Curry hanging on for dear life against Jrue Holiday here. Jrue manhandles him all the way to the paint he turns and floats this one in. And right here if I’m him, I’m not coming to double in this situation. I’ll take my chances with KD on him. It’s not that Curry could change much if he comes over. Instead, now the shooter is open in the corner, Antetokounmpo finds him and he knocks it down. Having that huge size disadvantage and not working hard to make up for it is a recipe for disaster. Even with all of this however, the Nets had a 7 point lead with 2 minutes to go, but credit to Giannis for being super clutch, first with the 3 pointer to tie the game in regulation, and then in overtime the 2 free throws to win the game for Milwaukee. A monster game of 44 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists, exposing the Brooklyn weaknesses in the process. I can’t wait for the playoffs to start for yet another potential 7 game series between these 2 teams. If this game was any indicator, it’s about to be crazy in the postseason. Let me know in the comments who you got in a potential matchup in the playoffs. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.

Luka got tackled by Kris Dunn last night! But the Lakers responded with some genius plays down the stretch. So, let’s start from the beginning of the city rivals game where Doncic got super busy! Oh Oooh, when he starts pulling up 3’s from way downtown, you know you’re in trouble. And the best thing is, he was just heating up. Heat Check! Luka went crazy in the opening minutes, hitting 5 of 5 from beyond the arc. And he was staring at the Clippers bench after each and every one of them. His hot streak ended on the next possession when he initially got the whistle for 3 free throws, but after the challenge by Ty Lue, the call got overturned. This only added fuel to the fire because… Doncic with the block on Harden on one end and then the tough layup in transition! It was a full display of his arsenal as Luka counted to 24 points in the 1st quarter! Unbelievable! And speaking of that, check this out!Kobe Brown exploded to the rack, putting both Laravia and Kleber on a poster! Despite Luka’s brilliance, the Clippers actually had a 1 point lead after 12 minutes of action. #nba #lukadoncic #lakers
