ICYMI: the Washington Nationals (13-27) almost did something that had never been done…..Top of the 7th #LaneThomas hit a triple and tried to stretch it into a inside the park home run but was called out at the plate but in the bottom of the inning they did something they haven’t down since 2016…….a triple play with them down 2-0 with no outs. ICYMI: The Washington Capitals (38-22-10) ended a two game losing streak by defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning (43-20-7) 4-3 in a very entertaining and intense battle between the current two wild card teams. #Ovi scored his 43th goal of the season and collected his 1400th career point, #JohnCarlson led the team with four points (2G,2A) and almost had a hat trick, if it wasn’t for unfortunate offsides call that overturned a late first period goal. #Samsonov (20-9-4) made some great saves to keep the #Bolts off the board when they pushed back but in my opinion he gave up goals that should’ve been stopped. ICYMI: the Washington Capitals (37-20-10) went (2-1) this week keeping them 4th in the Metro and 8th in the Eastern Conference. They had a road/home back to back this past weekend and earned 2 points against the Buffalo Sabres (23-33-9) on Friday with a 4-3 SO win and followed it up by a 4-3 win over New Jersey Devils ( 23-37-5) on Saturday. The organization celebrated #NickBackstrom’s 1000th game and 1000th point at Capital One Arena and see what happens when #Nicky scores the go ahead goal. The #WashingtonFootballTeam improved to (3-6) after upsetting the reigning Super Bowl Champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3). Taylor Heinicke played his best game as a pro throwing for 256 yards, 1 TD and no ints. Antonio Gibson added two rushing touchdowns. The defense played like we expected them to from a the start of the season. Unfortunately Chase Young may be lost for the season after a knee injury during the game. It was a 13-10 lead for the home team but gave up 21 unanswered points and repeated some of the same issues we've seen throughout the season.
