Today on Off The Roster, the biggest story in hockey takes center stage as the Toronto Maple Leafs officially fire head coach Craig Berube. Lindsay Dunn, Dan Riccio & Cabbie Richards are joined by Nick Alberga from Leafs Morning Take who reacts to the stunning news, break down what led to the decision, what it means for the future of the organization, and the direction of the Toronto Maple Leafs in pursuit of their next head coach. Plus, Dave Pagnotta of the Fourth Period adds his insights about the type of head coach Toronto should pursue, speculates on a list of potential head coaching candidates for the Maple Leafs as well as looks forward to hearing from General Manager John Chayka about his "organizational shift" in a press conference scheduled for 12:30p ET on Wednesday, May 13th (after the show). There is discussion surrounding Auston Matthews and what this move signals for Toronto heading into a massive offseason. Finally, Michael Augello believes Toronto's decision should be an inspired one and not hire a recycled head coach to take the Toronto Maple Leafs into a new era. Among the candidates to consider, Manny Malhotra (former Maple Leafs Assistant Coach), David Carle (University of Denver), John Gruden (Toronto Marlies Head Coach). We will get to (on Thursday) discuss the Buffalo Sabres’ huge win over the Montreal Canadiens and whether the series is now destined for seven games, while the guys react to the controversial goalie interference call that had fans furious and Brayden McNabb’s game misconduct in Ducks vs. Golden Knights. Plus, Marie-Philip Poulin delivers again in the PWHL playoffs, and the Blue Jays continue searching for answers after another frustrating extra innings loss with discussions surrounding Corbin’s start, Orelvis Piñango’s power surge, and whether Valenzuela or Tyler Heineman should stay in the mix once Alejandro Kirk returns. #OffTheRoster #NHLPlayoffs #MapleLeafs #BlueJays #BuffaloSabres #MontrealCanadiens #PWHL #AustonMatthews SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!! 👍 Proline: https://proline.olg.ca/ #Leafs #Raptors #BlueJays #Toronto Follow Off The Roster on Social Media @offtherosterpod Leave a voicemail at https://www.speakpipe.com/OffTheRoster

The Los Angeles Dodgers kept the same lineup ahead of the second game of their series against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers are in desperate need of some offense, falling short yet again in their series opener against their divisional rivals. They scored just three runs in the game, ultimately losing to a late-inning surge from the visitors. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start for the Dodgers on Tuesday, making his eighth start of the season for LA. He has been solid for the Dodgers this season, posting a 3.09 ERA through 43.2 innings pitched so far. He has 40 strikeouts under his belt, and has gone at least five innings in each of his starts so far this season. Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani leads the line for the Dodgers, and will look to break out of the slump which has plagued him for nearly two weeks now. The superstar has four hits in 36 at-bats in May, and has struggled to produce any offense for LA since the beginning of the month. He has just one homer since April 13. Shortstop Mookie Betts will bat second behind Ohtani, exactly where he batted upon his return from the injured list Monday. First baseman Freddie Freeman bats third, followed by right fielder Kyle Tucker and catcher Will Smith. One of the Dodgers’ hottest hitters in third baseman Max Muncy bats sixth, followed by center fielder Andy Pages, who is also on a decent run for LA. Left fielder Teoscar Hernandez will bat eighth, and second baseman Hyeseong Kim rounds out the lineup. Dodgers’ Lineup vs. Giants 1. Shohei Ohtani, DH 2. Mookie Betts, SS 3. Freddie Freeman, 1B 4. Kyle Tucker, RF 5. Will Smith, C 6. Max Muncy, 3B 7. Andy Pages, CF 8. Teoscar Hernandez, LF 9. Hyeseong Kim, 2B P. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, RHP Right-hander Adrian Houser will take the mound on Tuesday, and the Dodgers will look to capitalize on a weak point in the Giants’ rotation. Houser has a 6.19 ERA through seven starts, only striking out 19 batters through 36.1 innings pitched. He has allowed a home run in each of his last five starts, and has let multiple runs cross in every one of his outings this season. The Dodgers desperately need some help on offense, and could take advantage of a struggling pitcher to find the spark they need. Yamamoto will throw the first pitch of the game Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. PT.
