New York Jets get the win over the cross-city Giants in week 1 of the 2021 NFL preseason, in head coach Robert Saleh’s 1st game as head coach. Even though the Jets were the road team, fans of the team got to see the J-E-T-S at MetLife Stadium in person for the first time since the end of the 2019 season. 2021 NFL Draft #2 pick Zach Wilson made his NFL preseason debut for the Jets and even though he didn’t score a touchdown in his first taste of NFL action, the rookie quarterback impressed with a few third-down conversions and solid throws when it mattered. Wilson went 6-9 for 63 yards and led the Jets to a field goal on their first offensive possession. After the Jets second drive, Wilson was done for the night.
