Jashan e Cricket | PSL 7 | David Wiese's last-over heroics against Islamabad United take Lahore Qalandars to PSL 7 final | Lahore Qalandars VS Islamabad United David Wiese | Shaheen Shah Afridi | Shadab Khan | Azam Khan | Nabeel | Shoaib Akhtar | Inzamam Ul Haq | Sikander Bakht | | Ali Meer | Shahzad Iqbal | 25th February 2022 LAHORE: Islamabad United have defeated Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets in the eliminator 1 of the Pakistan Super League's (PSL) seventh edition to keep their hopes of reaching the finals alive. LAHORE: David Wiese's last-over heroics at the Gaddafi Stadium against Islamabad United took Lahore Qalandars to a six-run victory and to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final. The do-or-die match between the two sides was a staggering see-saw battle as both were unwilling to give up till the very end, as fans witnessed one of the most scintillating contests in the history of PSL. While chasing the target, Pual Sterling, who returned to the franchise after a national duty, smacked Shaheen Shah Afridi for 14 runs in the first over. But Shaheen roared back brilliantly in the third over as he dismissed him as well as Will Jacks with Haris Rauf taking catches on both occasions. Shadab Khan was also dismissed for 14, and Liam Dawson was also sent packing for 12 runs. At this point, Lahore was in the driver's seat having put United under the pump. But after that, Azam Khan and Alex Hales forged a brilliant 79-run partnership which brought United back into the game. They both played sensibly as they were hitting boundaries as well as rotating the strike and it looked like the game was in United's pocket. But an unbelievable fielding effort brought Lahore back into the game when Hales cut the ball and tried to take a single and Rauf's brilliant direct hit sent Azam back for 40 runs off 28 balls with two sixes and three fours. Hales was also removed just after Azam when Kamran Ghulam took a great jumping catch of Rauf's bowling who was right on the money in today's game. The topsy-turvy match also took another turn when Asif Ali got the reprieve as Shaheen dismissed him but overstepped. Asif then hit a six to bring the game closer and was dismissed by Rauf for 25 runs when United were eight runs behind. In the last over, eight runs were required with Wasim on strike, and David Wiese held his nerves. Wasim was run out and Waqas was caught at the boundary as Wiese picked the last wicket to take Lahore to the final as the heart-wrenching clash came to an end. In terms of bowling for Lahore, Rauf was brilliant with figures of 2-31 in four overs, Shaheen took 2-32 in four overs, while Zaman also took two and Wiese one. Earlier, David Wiese's three sixes and one four in the last over have helped Lahore Qalandars post a fighting 168-run total in the do-or-die eliminator two. Lahore after deciding to bat first, got off to the bad start as the in-form Fakhar Zaman was removed by Liam Dawson who bowled a brilliant new-ball spell. After that, Abdullah with Kamran Ghulam forged a crucial 73-run stand for the third wicket to steer the inning against a good bowling attack of United. Ghulam rotated the strike to keep the scoreboard ticking, while Abdullah took the attack against the opponent bowlers as he notched three sixes and four fours in a 28 ball knock. After Abdullah's dismissal by Waqas Masqsood, United got the dominant hand over Lahore as they made it difficult for their battles to carve out quick runs. They also displayed brilliant fielding as Harry Brook was run-out by a brilliant throw from Muhammad Wasim, and Samit Patel was caught by Muhammad Huraira who took a brilliant running catch. It was in the last over when Wiese went rampant against Waqas as he shamed three sixes and one four to take Lahore to a fighting total against a power-packed United batting line-up In terms of bowling, Dawson was brilliant with figures of 2-24 in four overs, Wasim also picked two, while Shadab and Waqas also picked one. Jashan e Cricket | PSL 7 | PSL 2022: Islamabad United keep final hopes alive after eliminating Peshawar Zalmi | Peshawar Zalmi VS Islamabad United | Alex Hales | Wahab Riaz | Shadab Khan | Azam Khan | Shoaib Malik | Sidra Niazi | Ali Abbas | Shoaib Akhtar | Inzamam Ul Haq | Sikander Bakht | | Ali Meer | Shahzad Iqbal | 24th February 2022 LAHORE: Islamabad United have defeated Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets in the eliminator 1 of the Pakistan Super League's (PSL) seventh edition to keep their hopes of reaching the finals alive. The United will now clash with Lahore Qalandars in eliminator 2 tomorrow (Friday) — and the winner of the match will face Multan Sultans in the final. In the last over, United required 10 runs, and Azam Khan got out on the first ball, after that, Liam Dawson finished the thrilling clash with ease as he smacked a six and four on the next two balls. The do-or-die match between the two teams was a see-saw battle with both teams unwilling to give up till the very end. The Zalmi bowlers were on target with their line, as they removed opener Will Jacks for 11 runs. Alex Hales announced his return with a bang as he kept the run-chase intact and played according to the situation. United was cruising at one stage with Hales looking well set, but it was Salman Irshad's two wickets that brought Zalmi back into the game. He removed Hales with a brilliant yorker and took the wicket of dangerous-looking Shadab Khan for 22 runs and Asif Ali, who was on seven. Azam Khan who scored 28 runs with two sixes and Faheem Ashraf who notched 19 with two maximums brought United closer. But in the last over when 10 runs were required, Azam got out on the wrong time, but Liam Dawson finished the game with hits. In terms of bowling, Wahab Riaz was taken to the cleaners as he conceded 52 runs in four overs, while Salman registered figures of 3-31. Earlier, after deciding to bat first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 169 runs for the loss of five wickets. The United bowlers kept things tight as Zalmi batters didn't score runs quickly, as they lost in-form opener Mohammad Haris for 12 runs by Faheem Ashraf. Opener Kamran Akmal continued to carve out runs, while Yasir Khan was also removed for eight runs. Karman got out for 58 runs by United skipper Shadab Khan with Zalmi's score of 98 runs on the board. Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat forged a crucial 56 runs stand to take Zalmi to the 150 run mark. Hussain scored 28 runs, while Malik scored 55. For United, Hasan Ali took three wickets for 30 runs in four overs, while Shadab and Faheem picked one. Jashan e Cricket | PSL 7 | PSL 2022: Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by 24 runs | Ben Cutting | Will Smeed | What happened between Sohail Tanvir and Ben Cutting? | Hina Pervaiz Butt | Arez Ahmed | Shoaib Akhtar | Sikander Bakht | Inzamam Ul Haq | Ali Meer | Shahzad Iqbal | 13th February 2022 An all-around show by the Peshawar Zalmi helped them overcome Will Smeed's sensational 99-run knock to beat Quetta Gladiators by 24 runs in the crucial 22nd match of this year's Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Chasing a huge 186-run target, Gladiators batters failed to play a huge knock with Jason Roy departing for 13, James Vince got out for a duck. Apart from Smeed, it was Sarfraz Ahmed who scored 25 and forged a 53-run stand with Smeed. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 10, while Umar Akmal managed to score just one as Smeed remained the difference between the two teams as his miraculous knock almost pulled off a stunning win. Smeed continued his hard-hitting by smashing the Zalmi bowlers to all parts of the park by hitting three sixes and 12 fours in a 60-ball knock. He took the game deep as the 17th over of Salman Irshad was going well with two fours, but the turning point came when Salman took his wicket on the last ball of his over as Smeed remained just one run shy of a much deserving century. After his departure, all the hopes for Quetta dashed as Zalmi bowlers easily defended the runs. For Zalmi, leggie Usman Qadir was the pick of the bowler with brilliant figures of 3-25 in four overs. Liam Livingstone picked 1-24 in four overs, while Wahab, Talat, and Slaman also took one scalp each. Earlier, Zalmi handed a 185-run total for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs courtesy of Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat's fifties and late hitting by Ben Cutting in a fiery 36-run knock. Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz had won the toss and elected to bat first, but Quetta's pacer Naseem Shah did the early damage with two wickets in one over of Hazratullah Zazai and Liam Livingstone to leave Zalmi at 2-6. Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Haris forged a 52-run stand to hold the inning, while Malik showed his class and experience during the 58 run inning of 41 balls with eight fours. He also laid a good 73-run stand with Hussain Talat who also played well. While in the late over, Cutting launched an onslaught with four sixes and one four in a blistering 36 run inning off just 14 balls. Naseem was brilliant with the bowl as he registered figures of 4-27 in four overs, Shahzad, Iftikhar, and Mudassar took one scalp each. The teams aim at removing ifs and buts from their way to the playoffs of the ongoing tournament. Both the teams have six points from seven games each, but Gladiators are ahead of Zalmi based on net run rate (NRR) and currently placed at the fourth position in the points table. The Zalmi would start the game with a win on their back as they had defeated Karachi Kings in their last match while Gladiators were outclassed by Lahore Qalandars in their last game played at Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium. _________________________________________________ An intense match is taking place between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators as both teams are seeking to cement their position for the playoffs of ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7. During the high-stakes match, sparks flew as Gladiators all-rounder Sohail Tanvir and Zalmi batter Ben Cutting had a heated encounter — and yes, it has history. During the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Tanvir had shown a finger gesture to Cutting after taking his wicket. In today's match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Cutting punished Tanvir in the 19th over as he smashed 27 runs, courtesy four sixes, a single, and a double. And then, Cutting got some payback as he showed the same finger gesture to Tanvir. This led to an argument between the two. The on-field umpire intervened and dispersed them. But right in the next over, Naseem Shah bowled, and Cutting smashed the bowl. However, Tanvir was at short third man and took the catch. After taking his catch, Tanvir again showed the finger gesture. After being invited to bat, in-form Lahore Qalandars handed a 183-run target to unbeaten Multan Sultans, but the Mohammad Rizwan-led side could not live up to the situation as they were defeated by 52 runs. Lahore Qalandars' bowling attack shined against Multan Sultans as they managed to bowl out the defending champions for 130. 20-year-old Zaman Khan claimed three wickets and gave away only 21 runs in 3.3 overs. Skipper Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Rashid Khan took two wickets each to dismantle Multan Sultans batting line-up. Rashid Khan took two crucial wickets of Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw. With the win, Lahore Qalandars have moved to second position in the table. Qalandars' Fakhar Zaman had lit the Gaddafi Stadium with his exceptional knock against table-toppers Multan Sultans, scoring a quick 37-ball 60 runs. Kamran Ghulam and Muhammad Hafeez played two spectacular knocks to help the Qalandars set a big total of 183 runs for Multan Sultans. Phil Salt also scored a blistering 13-ball 26. Multan Sultans did quite a decent job but could not properly dismantle the Qalandars batting order. It should be noted that this is the second time that the two sides faced each other in this year's PSL, with Sultans toppling Qalandars when they first met in Karachi. The Gladiators suffered a huge blow earlier today after Nawaz was ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to an injury. Nawaz has suffered a navicular bone nondisplaced fracture. Nawaz's exit is a huge setback to the Gladiators' team, who are currently sitting on the fourth spot of the PSL 2022 points table with four points in five matches. Ever since the first PSL edition in 2016, Nawaz has been an instrumental part in Gladiators success both with the bat and ball, as well as with some great fielding as well. _________________________________________________________________________ Watch Geo News LiveStream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrrpR7zjFpU For More Videos Subscribe - https://www.youtube.com/geonews Visit our Website for More Latest Update - https://www.geo.tv/ For More Videos Subscribe - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF73oBsmZPG6YRZV-vVN1-A Visit our Website for More Latest Update - https://www.geosuper.tv #GeoSuper #LahoreQalandars #PSL7 #LQvsMS #IslamabadUnited #KarachiKings #IUvsKK #PZvsQG #PeshawarZalmi #QuettaGladiators #SarfarazAhmed #BabarAzam #JConGeo #MohammadRizwan #InzamamUlHaq #ShahidAfridi #ShaheenShahAfridi #SikanderBakht #SadiaKhan #SadafKanwal #ShehrozSabwari #KKvMS #KarachiKings #MultanSultans #500KiDaurOnGeo #ShoaibAkhtar #AmnaIlyas #AsifZardari #FakaharZaman #LahoreQalandars #TimDavid #MultanSultans #DavidWilley #QuettaGladiators #SarfarazAhmed #ShadabKhan #IslamabadUnited #MSvsIU #RummanRaees #PSL2022 #LQvsPZ #PeshawarZalmi #LahoreQalandars #WahabRiaz #FakaharZaman #ShaheenShahAfridi #EshalFayyaz #IslamabadUnited #ShadabKhan #AzamKhan #HassanAli #ZhalaySarhadi #FarrukhHabib #AzamKhan #MuhammadZubair #AreebaHabib #NadiaKhan #UsmanDar #PTI #KhawajaAsif #ShoaibAkhtar #JasonRoy #LQvsQG #MultanSultansVSPeshawarZalmi #PeshawarZalmi #IffatOmar #PTI #KhurramSherZaman #SyedJibran #SharmilaFaruqui #AbdullahSultan

Jashan e Cricket | PSL 7 | Lahore Qalandars Win | Fakhar Zaman | Peshawar Zalmi | Wahab Riaz | Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars | Shaheen Shah Afridi | Qamar Zaman Kaira | Eshal Fayyaz | Ali Meer | Shahzad Iqbal | 02nd January 2022 KARACHI: Fakhar Zaman and bowlers joined hands to help Lahore Qalandars defeat Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs in match number nine to push their team to the second spot in the ongoing Pakistan Super League's (PSL) points table. The Qalandars had set a 200-run target for Peshawar after Wahab Riaz opted to bowl first against Lahore. Early in the Peshawar innings, Lahore skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi set the tone for his team by dismissing Zalmi opener Hazratullah Zazai for zero in the third ball of the innings. The loss of the early wicket put Zalmi on the backfoot and regular wickets by Lahore never allowed Peshawar to take control of the game. For Zalmi, Kamran Akmal and Haidar Ali made 41 and 49 runs, respectively, but the team was unable to catch up to the high required run rate. Zaman Khan took three wickets for Lahore, while skipper Shaheen and David Weise took two wickets each. Rashid Khan took a wicket as well. Zalmi ended their 20 overs with 170-9 helping Lahore register a 29-run victory. Peshawar would have been all out in the last over had David Weise's hattrick wicket not overturned by the review. Earlier, Lahore openers Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique set the tone for Qalandars' batting as they took the Peshawar Zalmi bowlers to the cleaners. Fakhar made his third successive fifty-plus scores by reaching his half-century in the 10th over. However, in the same over, Usman Qadir dismissed Shafique for 41 runs to break the opening stand. Fakhar continued his attack on the Zalmi bowlers before being dismissed by Hussain Talat in the 13th over for 66. By the time the left-hander was dismissed he had given the platform to his team to set up a huge target for Peshawar. In the next few overs, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hafeez, and Rashid Khan’s cameo propelled Lahore to end their innings at 199-4. For Peshawar, Salman Irshad took two wickets while Usman Qadir and Hussain Talat picked one each. Sources say that Hafeez wants to provide an opportunity to young players. Pakistan team will leave for Dhaka directly from Dubai. PCB releases schedule of Australia's tour of Pakistan _____________________________________________________ The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the schedule of Australia's tour of Pakistan, scheduled to take place in March-April next year. Tim Paine's Australian side is scheduled to visit Pakistan and take on the Men in Green for three Test matches, an equal number ODIs and one T20 match next year. The first Test match between the two sides will be played from March 3 in Karachi while the second Test will be played from March 12-16 in Rawalpindi. The teams will then play a third Test match in March 21-25 in Lahore. The Tests will be played as part of the ICC World Test Championship, while the ODIs will be connected to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League – a 13-team event from which the seven highest-placed sides and the hosts, India, will qualify directly for the event proper in 2023. All four white-ball matches of the series will take place in Lahore from March 29 to April 5, confirmed the PCB. This will be the first time that an Australian side will be visiting Pakistan to play a cricket series here after 24 years. The last time an Australian squad played a series in Pakistan was in 1998 when Mark Taylor led them to a 1-0 series victory – their first since Richie Benaud’s side defeated Fazal Mahmood’s team by 2-0 in the 1959-60 series. Between the two series, Pakistan hosted Australia in 1964-65 (drew 0-0), 1979-80 (won 1-0), 1982-83 (won 3-0), 1988-89 (won 1-0) and 1994-95 (won 1-0). Pakistan staged the last four series with Australia offshore – 2002-2003 (Colombo and Sharjah, Pakistan lost 3-0), 2010 (drew 1-1 in England), 2014-15 (won 2-0 in the UAE) and 2018-19 (won 1-0 in the UAE). 'A special treat' PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja, who played eight Tests and 18 ODIs against Australia: “I am delighted to welcome Australia to Pakistan. From a personal point of view, it pleases me no end that we’ll be engaged in a three-Test match series, connoisseurs delight. “Australia are one of the high-performing sides and them playing in our backyard for the first time after a gap of 24 years will be a special treat for the fans. “Likewise, it will be a great opportunity for the Australia cricketers to not only play at our iconic venues but also feel and enjoy the respect, love and hospitality that this great country offers, something which most of their previous generation of cricketers missed out by playing offshore.” Cricket Australia Chief Executive Nick Hockley: “Cricket Australia is excited about the prospect of touring Pakistan next year for what will be a highly anticipated series in a country so incredibly passionate about the game and their national team. “Pakistan is a formidable opposition with an exceptionally talented team, as evidenced by their dynamic performances in the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the UAE. “We thank the PCB for their considerable efforts in planning for the tour and look forward to continuing to work closely over the coming months to finalise the necessary operations, logistics, security and Covid-19 protocols. “The safety and welfare of our players and staff remains our number one priority, and we will continue to work with the PCB and relevant agencies to ensure that appropriate and sufficient arrangements are put in place for the tour.” For More Videos Subscribe - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF73oBsmZPG6YRZV-vVN1-A Visit our Website for More Latest Update - https://www.geosuper.tv #GeoSuper #T20WorldCup #PAKvsBangladesh #PAKvsAUS #MohammadHafeez #PakistanCricketTeam #ASKInziMushionGeo #ShoaibMalik #InzamamUlHaq #MushtaqAhmed #BabarAzam
