Portugal head coach Fernando Santos defended Cristiano Ronaldo after the 'Selecao' captain reacted furiously when he was denied what would have been a late winning goal in the World Cup qualifier against Serbia on 27th March, which finished in a 2-2 draw instead. Serbian coach Dragan Stojkovic refused to comment on the refereeing decisions. 0:00 SOUNDBITE (Portuguese): Fernando Santos, Portugal head coach: "Regarding the late goal, I have no doubts at all. The referee himself has just apologised. I have just spoken to him. He said he had just seen the video and that I was right. He apologised. That's the second time it's happened, a referee apologises after a qualifying game. I mean... I told the referee on the pitch, with great respect, that it's unacceptable to play a World Cup qualifying match without VAR and goalline technology. He also told me that on the pitch, about not having the goalline technology. He said it was important to have it. But I said: 'Sorry, the ball was half-a-metre inside the goal.'" 0:45 SOUNDBITE (Portuguese): Fernando Santos, Portugal head coach (on Cristiano Ronaldo's reaction to having a stoppage time winner disallowed): "Regarding your second question, I haven't seen it. I was so furious with the situation that I honestly don't know what happened. I've been told he didn't react well, but that's the total frustration of someone who is denied his late winner and gets frustrated. But I don't know what he's done, so I prefer to not speak about this subject." 1:04 SOUNDBITE:(Serbian): Dragan Stojkovic, Serbia coach: "He (Cristiano Ronaldo) is a great player, one of the greatest in history of football, what I personally had a focus on was Bernardo Silva. He is the player that makes difference on the pitch and that's it, but we did not have any special strategy to stop Cristiano ( Ronaldo) or someone else, simply we wanted to play as a team on the pitch and have the better team win." 1:39 SOUNDBITE: (Serbian), Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic: "Generally, I think that we managed to stop Cristiano ( Ronaldo) as much as we could and control his game." #2022WCQ #PortugalNationalTeam #SerbiaNationalTeam #CristianoRonaldo SOURCE: Serbia Football Association Visit the WeShow Football store: https://www.youtube.com/weshowfootball/store #WeShowFootball features football highlights, previews, reactions and behind-the-scenes footage from the world's top leagues and federations. City moved safely into the Fourth Round of this season’s FA Cup with an emphatic 3-0 win over Birmingham at the Etihad. Bernardo Silva put City ahead on eight minutes with a brilliant left-footed volley from the edge of the area, and the Portuguese midfielder doubled our lead seven minutes later, finishing off a fine team goal with a close-range strike. Andres Prieto made a fine save from the returning Gabriel Jesus, whose effort from a tight angle lacked the necessary finesse, and Phil Foden thought he was fouled inside the area, but after a quick VAR check, the protests were waved away. Foden made it 3-0 soon after with a powerful low strike, and only a goalline clearance from Maikel Kieftenbeld denied Jesus inflicting further damage before the half-time break. Arsenal beat Newcastle at Emirates Stadium to move above Manchester United and north London rivals Tottenham and go third in the Premier League. Aaron Ramsey, who had an earlier effort disallowed following a foul, put the hosts ahead with a fine low strike from 15 yards out. Newcastle's Matt Ritchie produced a diving header on the goalline to deny Alexandre Lacazette, but the Frenchman doubled Arsenal's lead late on when he calmly lofted the ball over goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. ==================================== ★☆★BUY THE NEW STADIUM TRAINING SHIRT 2018/19★☆★ https://goo.gl/wGcjKb ★☆★Like My Facebook Page★☆★ https://goo.gl/w74PKp ★☆★Please Support My Channel By Becoming A Patron★☆★ https://goo.gl/rofbvg ★☆★Follow Me On Instagram For More Exclusive Content★☆★ https://goo.gl/zsBRzp ★☆★Follow Me On Twitter★☆★ https://goo.gl/jvOcpA #Arsenal #Newcastle #PremierLeague #Football #FootballNews #Gunners

Boss Darren Moore says West Brom can strengthen their squad without selling players before Thursday's transfer deadline after they battled their way to a first point of the season. Matt Phillips' 87th-minute equaliser earned a draw in a breathless finish after Adlene Guedioura's long-range effort on 59 minutes had given Forest reward for a classy display. Moore will now turn his attention to the final two days of the transfer window and possible bids for Craig Dawson, Jay Rodriguez and Nacer Chadli. 'It doesn't depend on anybody going out, we just want to add to the squad. I'm aware of the speculation but at the moment they are all players at West Bromwich Albion.' Phillips fired into the top corner with three minutes remaining to give the visitors a backs-to-the-wall draw from a game the hosts bossed for long spells. But it was not to be, although either side could have claimed all three points in a frantic finale. At 1-0, West Brom new boy Dwight Gayle struck the post just minutes after stepping off the bench. And Phillips struck the post and Harvey Barnes headed against the crossbar moments after the equaliser. Even deeper into stoppage time and a goalline clearance from West Brom's Kieran Gibbs denied Forest, who had looked impressive in the first half with summer signings Joao Carvalho and Gil Dias turning on the style.Forest manager Aitor Karanka said: 'We should have won the game. Sure, they hit the bar and the post but in the first half we could have won the game 2-0 or 3-0. 'But we didn't score and didn't finish the game. I told them, against a team like West Brom, you make one mistake and you're punished and we were.' Moore added: 'It was a great game for the neutral. Fans saw two very good teams trying to win a football match. 'In the en
