Reaction from both national team coaches Gareth Southgate and Paulo Sousa, as well as England defender and goalscorer Harry Maguire, after England's 2-1 home victory against Poland in Group I of the 2022 World Cup UEFA Qualification. England boss Gareth Southgate praised the response of John Stones after the defender recovered from gifting Poland an equaliser to set up Harry Maguire's winner in a close-run World Cup qualifier. The Three Lions dominated possession in the first-half and led through a Harry Kane penalty, only for Brighton striker Jakub Moder to pounce on Stones and steal possession before equalising. Stones would regain his composure and head a corner back across goal for Maguire to fire home an 85th-minute strike to earn a 2-1 win and give England three wins from three in Group I. The decision to award England a penalty was a controversial one as Raheem Sterling went down under a challenge from Barnsley defender Michal Helik. Poland head coach Paulo Sousa has called for video assistant referee technology to be introduced in all major competitions as a result of conceding the penalty. England's next competitive game will be the first match of the rescheduled European Championship and - with Stones starting all three March fixtures - Southgate was pleased with the reaction of the Manchester City man. #2022WCQ #EnglandNationalTeam #ThreeLions #PolandNationalTeam SOURCE: The FA Visit the WeShow Football store: https://www.youtube.com/weshowfootball/store #WeShowFootball features football highlights, previews, reactions and behind-the-scenes footage from the world's top leagues and federations. Denmark midfielder Thomas Delaney was the envy of his teammates after scoring an incredible scorpion kick goal in training. The Borussia Dortmund player had his first effort saved but some quick thinking from Delaney saw him flip forward and kick the ball with his heel. Delaney reeled off to celebrate but none of his teammates ran to congratulate him for his wonder goal, perhaps they were in awe! Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand will be hoping for more of the same from the 29-year-old on Wednesday when they face Austria in a 2022 World Cup qualifier in Vienna. #2022WCQ #DenmarkNationalTeam #ThomasDelaney #ScorpionKick SOURCE: DBU TV Visit the WeShow Football store: https://www.youtube.com/weshowfootball/store #WeShowFootball features football highlights, previews, reactions and behind-the-scenes footage from the world's top leagues and federations. Portugal head coach Fernando Santos said Cristiano Ronaldo 'sets an example' for the nation after he was criticised after throwing away his captain armband after their 2-2 draw against Serbia. Ronaldo scored an injury-time winner that would have given Portugal the 3-2 win against Serbia, but the referee did not award the goal, with Ronaldo reacting with anger at the decision. Portugal trained ahead of their third Group A World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg on 30th March. Cristiano Ronaldo's team remain in second place levelled up with Serbia with four points. #2022WCQ #PortugalNationalTeam #CristianoRonaldo SOURCE: FPF Visit the WeShow Football store: https://www.youtube.com/weshowfootball/store #WeShowFootball features football highlights, previews, reactions and behind-the-scenes footage from the world's top leagues and federations.
