How To Increase CHEST Strength Using Functional Methods
This is the next video in our series of videos about using functional training methods to increase muscular strength to a particular muscle group, and this video looks specifically at the chest region with PEC MAJOR and PEC MINOR. There is no doubting these are very powerful muscles with the upper body and the engine room for many movements we make with our arms. They can also be very problematic, the Pec Minor in particular can create a multitude of problems for the shoulder so it is important to understand how to improve your strength without compromising stability of the shoulder girdle. This muscle along with the lower traps are such important muscles to healthy shoulder function because they are what helps to keep the scapula attached to to the thorax and in optimal alignment. The problem many people face is finding a way to strengthen the serratus anterior for it is very difficult to do. Often the dominating pecs, in particular pec minor steal the workload further exacerbating the shoulder dysfunction. The greater the imbalance becomes the worse the injury gets. It allows full protraction of the shoulder which is the key in activating this muscle. It demands good thoracic mobility with rotation. Thoracic stiffness is a known problem with instability of the scapula and shoulder. See article - Why Thoracic stiffness is a hidden cause of pain for more on this. It demands perfect core control. In the next section we will go into more detail on this. As mentioned earlier this is one of our most important exercises to use in our shoulder/neck rehabilitation programs for we know how many things we can restore in one movement. Often we have had to regress with mobility drills and stretches for the tight areas and isolated stability and strength exercises for weak areas. This one movement does all of these things at the same time! And when performed perfectly it changes muscle imbalance and dysfunction faster than any of the isolated approaches. Yellow outfits are worn on Basant (Rakhi Vijan)) It falls on Basant, also called Basant #Panchami. According to the Punjabi calendar it is held on the fifth day of lunar month of Magha (in late January or early February) marking the start of spring. Kite fighting is a very popular pastime all around Pakistan, but mostly in urban centers across the country (especially Lahore). The kite fights are at their highest during the spring celebrations and the fighters enjoy competing with rivals to cut-loose the string of the others kite, this is popularly known as "#Pecha". Welcome in Slumpbusters! For the first time since 1995 the Atlanta Braves have won the World Series. In game Max Fried gave the Braves six innings of shutout baseball. This was the second time Atlanta shut out the Astros, doing the same in game 3 with Ian Anderson on the mound. Atlanta got home runs from Freddie Freeman, Dansby Swanson and World Series MVP Jorge Soler. Soler who was acquired in a trade with the Royals before the MLB Trade Deadline hit three total home runs in the series, including a leadoff game one shot in game one and the game-winner in game four. Astros hitters were stifled the entire series. Carlos Correa aside from a terrific game five hit under .200. Alex Bregman had two total hits and Yordan Alvarez hit under. 100 with zero RBI's. Houston's pitching wasn't much better aside from a game two performance by Jose Urquidy. Framber Valdez had a horrendous 19.29 ERA in his two World Series starts. Lance McCullers' injury clearly put the Astros rotation in a compromised position. The Braves could count on offense from all parts of their order thanks to Freeman, Austin Reilly, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall and Travis d'Arnaud. Despite losing Chalie Morton, Fried and Anderson were enough to get the job done with excellent contributions from bullpen arms like Tyler Matzek and Kyle Wright.
